  1. It wasn't any of that. The toe brakes were "stuck on" after release. Now that I've changed the settings on my pedals she rolls just like she should. Smooth as butter. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  2. I'm nowhere near ready to fight anyone yet lol. I still haven't figured out how to turn on the RWR lmao. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  3. Holy crap! Is a good start. What an amazing plane. Just started DCS last week, got FC3 and mainly flew the SU-33 around. I built a computer for DCS with VR in mind. Ryzen 5 3600 32 gigs of 3200 ram Radeon 5700 xt Oculus rift S Enter the Tomcat. After a lot of hours of searching on here I found some settings that work great. The cockpit in VR is INCREDIBLE. Can I sharpen up the outside world? What setting controls that? I was annoyed that I had to keep reaching my keyboard for ground ops and the mouse to hit switches.... Enter the oculus "hand" lol. I have it now I can do the complete startup without touching anything but my HOTAS and one of the "hands". I set the ejection seat arming to a switch on my HOTAS so I don't have to contort myself and the rest the "hand" can easily reach. Moving the wing sweep lever was tricky, but I figured it out. I've practiced startups, taxiing, takeoff, landing, (on land) and that all went pretty well. Excited to start carrier and combat training. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  4. Funny you mentioned that. I was just looking down into the cockpit as I was taxiing and I just happened to notice that when I use my toe brakes, they don't release when I come off them. So I set my wheel brakes to the joystick pinky lever, and sure enough, they released all the way, and the Cat rolls like it should. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  5. Bought the Tomcat yesterday, is it supposed to taxi like I'm dragging the Nimitz behind me? I disengage the parking brake and it just won't roll normally. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks everyone. I was doing some vr carrier landing practice, bolted right off the deck because "someone" forgot to put the tailhook down lol. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  7. Ok, so I got the Rift S and took a quick flight in the Su-33 and SU-27. Holy Crap is that amazing! I'm going to have to do A LOT of key binding to make this work in VR... How do you initiate contact with tower/carrier/tanker etc without using the "" key on the keyboard? Where on the Warthog HOTAS do you guys like to set your VR buttons? Can you bind passthrough in case I need keyboard presses? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

    New

Hi everyone. I'm very new to DCS, Been flying less than a week. Bought FC3 and I'm deeply enjoying the Flankers. Landed the 33 on the carrier on my third try. Are there plans for high fidelity versions of the Flankers? Is the Tomcat as satisfying to fly? I'm looking into buying my first high fidelity plane and like a lot of people, the Tomcat is my favorite, with the Harrier and Viper close behind. I'm flying with the Warthog HOTAS, and bought a Rift S. Any tips for setting it up? Hope to see you guys soon in the (not so friendly) skies. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
