I noticed there is a multiplayer LOMAC forum. Could someone move it?
-
So I want to hook up with a friend of mine but we can't register an account on the hyperlobby website because it's deactivated and the same goes for the forums. The last update was in March so...how can we set it up?

I reinstalled Windows again and encountered a blue screen whenever I started it up this morning. It said that my monitor / display adapter / video card was unable to initialize. So I restart again and after an disk check everything seems to be working fine beyond that I really need to clean off my C:/ drive.
-
The Vista Repair thing doesn't help either it can't find the problem. But the details say "BadPatch" and that is all that I can really make out. Either way I am reinstalling an OS for the fifth time today.
-
I did a clean install of Vista. Everything is running great for a few hours. LOMAC is running perfectly. I am enjoying life. I see that I have updates that need to be installed and I decided to restart since I had a program that needed to be installed. Big mistake. It restarts and it gives me a few options and says that Windows could not start properly. I boot off of the install disk and try to repair and it can't find any problems. I get a blue screen that flashes for a few seconds. Honestly what the f***? I mean really? What update was I installing for christs sake? Now the OS is f*****? Great but why? I looked on Microsoft and the idiots over there have never heard of this before. I don't even know...
-
Edit: I patched to 1.02 and it returned. I have tried everything beyond installing Vista. I have tried numerous other attempts over the past month and I have failed. I am crushed. Considering nobody around here will help at least it works for you.

If you ever could have your own private jet...
vrv replied to zakobi's topic in Military and Aviation
MiG-25: Because I could get to where I am going extremely fast but not so fast that I won't completely miss the scenery. Imagine buzzing the highway with a MiG-25 at full stretch. Ka-50: I would love to fly her to work and back. I wouldn't have to worry about traffic and it would probably scare the crap out of everyone on the road. F-14D: Aviator glasses. Squadron Jacket. Kenny Lodgins. Corny Haircut. And a callsign. Why not? I would fly balls to the wall everywhere with "Highway to the Danger Zone" blaring from my custom made speakers that are on the bottom. You could hear me coming from a mile away because I wouldn't venture above 1,000 meters LOL. Mi-24: It would go along side the Ka-50 perfectly. Plus its a symbol that everyone recognizes. It's a big, intimidating, mean slick that would make people soil themselves and wreck when I would come flying down the highway at full speed. Plus I could carry a large troop of pornstars / models in the back ;D -
Screw my idea then. I just hope that we get a jet after the A-10. The genre has been hurting for a while but if they were to produce something with an F-15 / 16 / 18, MiG-29, whatever it would be a epic step. Also I can land on the ground perfectly well but I wasn't naturally gifted with the ability to automatically land on a simulated carrier. It took me a few tries ;)

They should plan on doing a combined naval operations series of DCS. They could release modules like they are now by linking the F-14's, F-18's, MiG-29k's, Su-33's, Buccaneers, Harriers in modules together. But you also have to look at the amount of hands on time they can get. With the Ka-50 you could basically eat and sleep in it but I don't know about some of the others. The F-14 would be easy since there are a few in the US on display and if you wanted to go to Iran you could ;) . The 18's, 29K's and 33's would be more difficult because I don't think the Kremlin would let you borrow one of those for a few months let alone an F-18. Well maybe the original Hornet since they are on display in a few places. You would already have an basis for the combined modules when you release the first one. All you would need to do is add the jets and have different carriers. Some say why carrier missions? Why not? You talk about challenging how about scrambling off of a carrier, getting in a dogfight, reaching bingo-fuel in the middle of the night miles away from the carrier. And you have to land to refuel because no tankers are around. Landing is hard enough and you only have one chance to stick the landing or you get to swim with the fishes. While refueling you would hear the chatter from your wingmen in the dogfight which would add stress and the sense of urgency. Heck you would cut off at 50% and head back out. And most likely you would be low on fuel and you wouldn't be able to afford mistakes on landing.

So I was in my hometown getting all nostalgic and decided to head over to NAS Jax where I lived and spent most of my childhood. Before that I was at Patricks AFB but NAS Jax has always been a favorite. The History / Memory park thing they have is brillaint except for the missing A-6 & EA-6 but I don't remember having any squadrons there with those but there was still plenty to see. F-14A F-8 Crusader A-4 Skyhawk TBF Avenger (I think...I am horrible with WW2 era craft) S-2 Tracker S-3 Viking SH-3 Sea King ___ One of my dreams as a kid was to get up close to an F-14 and it happened. When they retired it I had hoped that NAS Jax would have one and thankfully they did. I have a few other pics of some Sea Hawks taxing / preparing for takeoff, F-18's getting painted and a few C-130's. Thanks to you Russians the P-3 Orions were all over the place but I am not complaining :pilotfly:We passed a few on the way that were running traffic patterns and patrolling the coast and it was a cool site. Also my apartment was buzzed by an SH-60 a few days ago and I have seen at least five flying around. I plan on going down to Patricks AFB and once I get back up north over to Fort Campbell for the slicks. I heard that there is a USAF Mesuem up in Columbus so I definitely need to go there. Now All I need to do is get close to a MiG-29 or Ka-50 :megalol:

Extended Manual now available to download free
vrv replied to bumfire's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Great news  now I can lose even more sleep and hours of my life to studying :megalol: I read the history part and its great. I had been looking for history on the Ka-50 and had only found a few sources. -
Pairs would be perfect but they probably won't do it. Let's just hope picking the AH-64, no offense to Longbow fans; its a beautiful slick, that it won't be a huge mistake. We don't have any fast movers. If you were to have the F-15 / F-16 you could pick up a huge HUGE following. Same goes for the Mig-29, Su-27,ect. Moving mud will be great with the A-10 but after that another helo?

POLL: Would you rather see A-10 or AH-64a as next module?
vrv replied to Sharkster64's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Most Falconers / Janes veterans say that they are tired of having Russian aircraft shoved down their throats. Kind of funny considering its kind of equal on both sides. The Fulcrum D would be sexy though...:pilotfly: -

A-10...you have the Ka-50 and I don't think that we need another slick until we actually get a fast mover. Yeah I like the 64 and I will enjoy it but the genre itself needs some more updated jets. -
I am on the other side of the country from where I bought this PC. Plus it was around five years ago but all of it has been upgraded numerous times since then.
-
I managed to play an entire Su-25 mission, one of the custom ones, without a crash. I finished it and then I tried playing the A-10 campaign and it caused a crash.
-
My PC came with XP already installed so I don't have an install disk. But I do have a copy of Vista that I could install. I know about the compatibility problems but frankly whats the difference if I can't even play LOMAC on XP?
-
I can play FBP dogfights without any problems and online works but I can't play the campaigns or missions without the .dll crash.
-
That would be a great starting point for a naval operations version. F/A-18's and F-14's. One can dream though
-
I can't find my original XP disk but I have a Vista disk that I haven't installed yet. If I install Vista would it fix the mscvrt.dll error?

I really don't understand the point of bombs
vrv replied to asa1997's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Why not? The Russians can put whatever they want on their slicks  -
This is why I got my girlfriend into DCS. She has a thing for Russian aviation and well she enjoys it. She even printed off two manuals and stuffed them into some big binders for us to read :D
