This sounds like your video card drivers need updating or rolling back.

I've also had game freeze and the Windows event viewer shows dcs.exe application hang. Also had connection interrupted, both in mp mode on 1.2.2 DCS World is buggy cos I even have to ALT+TAB back to desktop and back to game again for the "connect" button to work in MP. Think it's because the Windows desktop resolution gets changed, which causes Windows 7 to display a message just before the connect screen shows. Fortunately 1.1.1.1 is very stable in SP and MP modes.

I would love to play 1.2.1 but I always get DCS stopped working. I love 1.1.1.1 and its very stable, ie no DCS stopped working. What is so different in 1.2.1 to cause the stops?

Campaign mission one in DCS 1.2.1.6288, I get "DCS stopped working". Twice, each instance when CBU's hit and once when I was just banking the A10 (maybe another AI plane dropped a CBU, I don't know). I don't get any .CRASH file saved. I see WorldGeneral.dll as the faulting module name in event viewer. Only ever had one DCS stopped working in 1.1.1.1 and that was MSVCR90.dll as the faulting module name in the event viewer. Otherwise this sim is just jump dropping awesome.

Just played the same campaign mission in 1.1.1.1 A10C and no "DCS stopped working" message. Not sure what it is if it's not the CBU's. Could it be the day turning to night? I noticed in this latest mission on 1.1.1.1 it was gradually getting dark.

I hope ED are watching, there's quite a few people with the DCS stopped working issue. I tried deleting the A10 folder in mods and uninstalling World then reinstalling. Still the same :(

Yes CBU-87. I've just tested by turning my graphics down by hitting the medium button. It stuttered when the CBU's hit but didn't stop working. I thought this may be it fixed, but then bam DCS Stopped working about 10mins after :( I ain't getting no crash log file either?

Oh, you think that might be it. My specs are: i7 3770k, 8gb RAM, GTX 560ti 448 The game turned everything to high, I turned water and shadows to medium, heat blur off.

Have been getting random DCS stopped working crashes. But have managed to replicate the crash and don't know how to fix it, can anyone help? I fly the first mission in the A10 campaign and when I CBU the artilary units, as soon as the CBU's are exploding, I get stuttering frame rates then freeze and then DCS Stopped working. Twice I've done this and same thing both times. When I look at event viewer I see WorldGeneral.dll as the culprit? Any ideas apart from go back to 1.1.0.7 when all was good?

Have ED ever considered to ask the British authorities if they could release information on the now retired Harrier GR#. Imagine a sim of DCS quality on this aircraft[edited]

Thanks for the info BigfootMSR, really useful advice. I thought the uninstall was mandatory. Can I go straight to 1.2.1 or do I have to go: 1.1.0.7 current version > 1.1.1.1 > 1.2.1 Regards Daz

Thanks cichlidfan 3 .bin files? Oh, it only says download 2 files on the downloads page, confused.com now! Think I'm half way to fixing my rALT+Home and rCtrl+Home issue. Unplugged my X52 from the computer and started the tuturial, engines start now. Must be a conflict in my X52 somewhere!

Apologies, I'm a little behind as only just got this game up and running (love it btw) :D Do I have to download 1.1.1.1 .bin and .exe or just .exe? Something bizarre has happened to my rALT+Home and rCtrl+Home keys, they no longer start the engines in the startup tutorial?? Scratching my head moment!

Cannot see what version number this is, normally says on the menu screen somewhere doesn't it? I know I haven't patched the game yet, still fresh out the box :D If I go to 1.1.1.1, will it fix my rALT+Home and rCtrl+Home keys? They suddenly won't fire up the engines in the start up tutorial?? :\ Do I only have to download the .exe - or - both the .bin and .exe files? Cheers Daz

Hi Wolle I'm a bit out of date with my knowledge, but your GPU choice question...yes, different manufacturers but same card, from nvidia in this case. Some manufacturers are more reputable than others. My particular card is from ASUS. Only thing to worry about is your mobo supporting PCI-E 3.0 and making sure you have the correct drivers for your card. 560ti is a PCI-E 2.0 card.

Hmmm, tricky one. I will want to hook up with fellow hogs in MP. Dont want an unstable experience though! Yes, it's a Z77 chipset, MSI G45 military class mobo. Cant upgrade anything yet, the mrs will have me living in a tube station lol :S

I Just recently decided to get back into the simulation game. I've bought A10C (it lured me in lol) and built a computer to hopefully run it. I have a couple of questions, I hope you can help with, apologies if I've missed the answer to them anywhere: Q1 Do I need to download DCS World? Q2 My PC build is; i7 3770k, 8gb 1600 ram, GTX560ti 448 edition. Will this build run DCS ok? Reckon I should be up and running sometime next month, when I have everything read to go. I use to be part of 355th back in 2003/4. Reckon I also need to do some research on any Hawg squadrons out there :D

Not installed anything for months, installed 1.1 and patched 1.12a rebooted, got a BSOD? Is it the starforce driver that has caused this BSOD? Anyone else had a BSOD after installing 1.[1]12a? And what have they done to make sure it doesn't happen again?
