  3. Seems a bit unintentional to me. After ground lock and with missile enroute when making slight adjustments the crosshairs will slew the opposite direction at first, then they will start going the right direction (sometimes). Seems more prominent with left/right slew. Tried this with the analog stick on my CH Throttle first, then with the default keys on the keyboard. Completely maddening trying to get a kill like this. Did manage a kill in the instant action mission once in about 10 tries. So far everything else with the Su-25 seems fine.
  4. Awesome! This adds so much, ED should take something like this and make it default when you place a FARP.
  5. Just look at the SP debriefing screen, that's what I'm talking about. If they took it further they could make the debriefing fairly vague, could just show you killed 4 vehicles and then got shot down by a surface launched missile for example.
  6. I gotta say I don't understand. Why would having a debriefing be unrealistic? I feel pretty certain that every pilot would be debreifed after every sortie. This is VERY different than kill messages in real time. Even in the holy grail sim Falcon 4.0 you had a debreifing.
  7. Eno I think ED could solve this if they had some debriefing functionality in MP. Something like the SP debrief could pop up after you get killed but it would only show events related to you and not everyone else (so you couldn't cheat and see what the other side has done).
  8. Can't wait for this, it's an insta-buy on day one! So glad you guys decided to move ahead with this. FSX is OK for what it is but it just doesn't make sense to develop combat aircraft in that platform.
  9. I remember back in FC1 that units were visible as dots out to about 15km or so. You still had to be looking in the right place to see them and of course they weren't identifiable at that distance. This IMO was a good solution to the lack of contrast and resolution that you would get in real life.
  10. Now that 1.2.7 is released I think all the servers will be more full, community won't be split anymore.
  11. On the subject of limits it would be nice to be able to set a max wind speed, min cloud base, things like that. Right now the dynamic weather will generate some really nasty conditions more often than not.
  12. I'm not sure what you're talking about with the dynamic weather being unusable in MP. I've been on several servers that had it going and there was no issue. Every mission on the 314th uses it and we have none of the problems you describe. There is one problem with it but I'm pretty sure this applies to SP too (don't really play SP myself): there are some weird graphical oddities on water when dynamic weather is used. I personally can live with it for the immersion that you get with dynamic.
  13. Templates are very simple. This would go much deeper to include resource quantities and populating each airfield. The realistic templates that Stuka created are amazing and so far the closest to what I'm talking about. Unfortunately the sim makes these templates very rigid (1 set formation, doesn't link various groups together for resource sharing).
  14. I would love the ability to autopopulate the mission with large groups that have everything you need. For instance: --Click on an airfield --Select "Add a squadron" --Select the squadron and type of aircraft that it flies --The ME would then add all the aircraft on the airfield, the ground support and transport units that they would need, would set resources levels for fuel and weapons that would be needed You could maybe even have a "readiness" level for that squadron--something like lean, regular, or well prepared. Would affect the resource levels at the airfield. This could also be expanded to include easily placing large groups of ground forces that are interconnected.

  16. Why must you see it in the air to be sure that it would be a realistic loadout? I get that a picture of a Su-25 parked at an airshow is not necessarily believable. I posted some above where ground crews were loading the weapons and it definitely did not look like an airshow. If one is taxiing with a certain loadout that seems pretty reasonable that it would be a real life loadout. Wish someone with more official knowledge could chime in....

  18. Could be used for training or low threat sorties maybe. I'm loving this thread BTW. I would like to see a collection of these loadouts as a mod, or even better--ED could replace the current default stuff that is implausible. They certainly edited many of the AI aircraft loadouts for 1.2.7 so surely they could do the same for flyables?

  24. That would make sense. I would love to see a loadout where the ECM pod is in use. Seems not so common (I almost never carry one myself).
  25. Try to find pictures of Su-25's with heavy mixed loadouts anywhere...and good luck. Most combat pictures you will find have the same weapon on only a few of the pylons. Typically these loadouts are rockets or bombs. Would be nice to get some detailed real life tactics documents of some sort to more realistically use this aircraft. Not that it would change the way that the masses on the sim would act...just take a look at how the A-10 guys load theirs (6 mavs, 16 gbu's, whatever). I would love to have a way to limit loadouts from the ME to avoid this stuff.
