There aren't many people flying the Su-25 online but I know we are out there! I want to see if there is any interest in forming a US-based squadron to fly Russian gear. In addition to the Su-25, maybe the Mi-8 and Ka-50 and for some topcover maybe MiG-29 and later the MiG-21/23? Sound interesting or is there not enough of us out there?

2: I usually set 92% RPM for cruise. If you notice the throttle has some tick marks above it with some Cyrillic words. I don't speak Russian but I think there is a taxi setting and cruise setting. The 92% I mentioned lines up more or less on one of those marks.

In FC1 days I used to be able to spot ground targets as distinct black dots at 18km or so. This is obviously a thing of the past, probably for realism reasons. Not sure when this change was made, I completely missed the FC2 era so it could have happened then. Occasionally I get lucky and spot stuff at about 6-8km nowadays.

I'm surprised there's not already a thread on this. What do you guys think of this aircraft? Looks pretty cool to me, looks like it would be fun to fly. Looks amazing! Will be a great place to take the upcoming Mirage 2000! Looks MUCH better than what we've been shown of Nevada so far.

There was Russian accented English before, what happened to that? I think this should be an option in the settings then everyone will be happy.

Ok see everyone I'm NOT crazy! :lol: I still have yet to see wingtip contrails either. I've only been messing around in one mission though mostly (big mission I'm building) so maybe it's a weather thing. I still haven't heard if this effect is dependent on weather, no one seems to know.

Anytime there is a poll and F/A-18 is one of the options, it will always be huge. I'm actually surprised that EDGE is edging the F/A-18 out. The first company to get an F/A-18 of any variant into this sim is going to make a mint! I voted for dynamic campaign. :P All these amazing aircraft and beautiful aircraft still don't mean much if we don't have a war to use them in! -
Yes, exactly. You should not be able to place a tank on the side of a cliff.

I would love to see a feature where the ME would not let you place units on ground that is too steep. Something like if the ground is steeper than X degrees, then the ME would either "snap" the unit to flatter ground or would maybe have a big red X over the unit unit you move it to a good place. This would make unit placement SO much easier as the #1 reason I have that something is in a bad spot is just due to being on a very steep hill. Edit: There could also be differences between units--tracked vs wheeled and infantry units for example.

Ok so it's just me! I'll keep pulling harder! Very weird though, I loaded up the A-10C and had no problems with wingtip vapor. I'm not living up to my name! LOL

I'm NOT seeing them. Maybe it's a weather thing? I tried some quick missions in various weather but still nothing. Also I'm starting the mission with a full loadout so maybe I'm just not whipping the plane around enough. I did pull hard enough to have my pilot panting though!

I get seem to produce any wingtip vapor with the Su-25. Is this intentional? I'm guessing that the speedbrake "pods" aerodynamically don't produce trails IRL.

I've had some serious crash/locking up issues since 1.26 as well. It's so crazy because I never really had issues like this in versions of ED's software since early Lock-on days. What I'm getting is a not responding error. Also gotten total freezes that require going into the task manager and killing DCS there. I thought my install might have just gotten too messed up so I reinstalled to completely so now I'm completely clean. This helped a good bit but I eventually got a crash. This has happened in both SP and MP. I've never sent in a crashlog before. Is it the DCS.log file under users/saved games/DCS? I tried attaching it but the forum says it's an invalid file. -

This is a shame. If the AI would jink and stuff while in a threat area but still be able to attack targets and such that would be fine. As it stands right now they completely lose the ability to focus on objectives if they get a mudspike from well outside missile range. Pretty much makes attack aircraft useless. -

Thanks so much for this! The ridiculous amount of jinking and totally ignoring objectives has been a huge problem for me while designing missions. While in this mode will the AI still respond if a SAM or AAA is fired? -
@Wrecking Crew: I would love to see your missions that can last 40-50 hours! Is there a server that hosts them? Are you using AI flights to supplement the clients? The mission I'm currently building is using the entire map. There will be a long and well defined FLOT as well as long and medium range SAM coverage over friendly territory (lacking in most MP servers, makes for no safe haven for mud movers). I intend to have random AI flights of all types throughout the duration of the mission, both for immersion as well as contribution to the battle. I'm trying to learn and use the resource system to create a need for more conservative play--you will be limited in availability of costlier or rarer weaponry. Warehouse will be AI targets, you have to protect yours while ensuring the other side's get destroyed. Obviously with so much going on I'm worried about performance. Everyone's comments on scripts has me intrigued. I have to say I've never used them and the coding language is intimidating. Sadly I have a hard enough time just with triggers. Slow going but I AM progressing! I gotta say though that the more I dig into this the more I think that much of this should be automated! I mean, that's what COMPUTERS are for, right?! :P

Ok so basically there are 2 options for respawning: creating additional hidden groups and have them appear with triggers or mess with the scripting code to completely respawn an existing unit. While the scripting language is currently beyond my understanding, I will give it a try to learn it. Sure would be easiest if there was just a checkbox for "Respawn if destroyed" then a time box would open up! ED are you listening? ED??? :P So this brings the question: Which version would be the least resource-hungry? I'm building a large MP mission which is intended to be populated for about 14 hours (unless one coalition wins). So over such a large time period I am worried about triggers eating up CPU cycles and such.

What if the unit is a SAM site, if the radar is destroyed by a SEAD flight but the rest remains, will only the radar respawn or will the other units respawn on top of the old ones? That could get messy . . .
