  1. Hi folks, as reported in a few other posts, there doesn't seem to be an animation for the wheel chocks when they are placed. I've added a short track to illustrate, best viewed from the outside view. Thanks. wheel chocks animation.trk
  2. Thanks for that info. Cheers
  3. Hello everyone, First part of my post. Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can get an explanation of the wingman commands I can give. The A10C II manual gives a good explanation of what I can expect the wingman to do. Second part of my post is regarding datalink and single player with an AI wingman. Does D/L work with AI wingmen as it does with multiplayer wingmen and I'm just messing it up completely, or is it still a work in progress?
  4. Hi all, I posted this same question in the Apache forums and got some clues from one of the responses, I looked at the orientation of the FARP, in this case 180 degrees, went out a few miles and came toward the FARP on a heading of 180 and got a call to go across to the tower for landing clearance, as I got closer the tower gave me a clearance to land. So the solution to getting ATC in a FARP is to fly on the FARP heading.
  5. Hi Volator, your comments about centreline and glidepath gave me an idea to try. I looked at the orientation of the FARP, in this case 180 degrees, went out a few miles and came toward the FARP on a heading of 180 and got a call to go across to the tower for landing clearance, as I got closer the tower gave me a clearance to land. So the solution to getting ATC in a FARP is to fly on the FARP heading a few miles out.
  6. Hi, I've set up a FARP for landing practice with an Air Traffic Control function. The ATC gives me the the direction, distance and QFE of the FARP when I initially check in with them but never gets me to go across to the "tower" for a landing clearance. Am I supposed to get a FARP Landing clearance? Or is it just taken that when I check in I can land there?

  8. Hi, I asked the same question about the chocks not being visible back in January after an update and got no reply.
  9. Post any results you have. It will be interesting to see
  10. No I haven't tried using the gun, I'd imagine it would be hard to pin point a target from so high up, but I will give it a try and post the results.
  11. I got a GBU-12 on the target from 38000 feet, missed with a MK82(ccrp release) from 39000 and I couldn't get the GBU-54 to come of the rails, might have to try that one again. EDIT: I did get a GBU-54 to hit a target from 39500 feet.
  12. Hi all, I decided to see if I could climb to the ED flight manual service ceiling of 45,000 ft for sh%ts and giggles and I noticed the HUD altimeter stops at 38000 feet. Thought I might share that bit of trivia with you all. I got to 41000 feet weighing 27000lbs, temperature was ISA +5 at sea level at Batumi.
  13. Hi Folks. In update DCS 2.9.12.5336 the last item in the AH-64D is Fixed: Wheel chocks texture, does that me we can see the chocks in place when requested? I've tried asking the ground crew to place the chocks, which they verbally comply but I can't see anything. Regards.
  14. Nice one. Sometimes JTAC will call abort if you are not running in from a certain direction that suits them.
  15. Thanks rob10 and MAXsenna for your prompt replies. Cheers
  16. Just so I've got this correct. I had a shortcut on my desk top to start MT but with the latest update using the standard DCS WORLD icon, I will start multithread as there is no single thread anymore. So I can delete my MT shortcut. Thanks in advance.
  17. Ok fingers crossed for a quick fix
  18. Ok. Do I mark this as the solution or does it get transferred to the other thread?
  19. Hi everyone, Has the TGP FOV in the HMCS changed its presentation? I always have it selected as "on" in the HMCS setup See the attached images I get extended lines beyond the normal square. Also attached in the trk file you can see that the SPI line in the HMCS is extending through the SPI. I have only noticed this since the latest update. Any thoughts or feedback would be welcome. Cheers. TPG marking.trk
  20. Hi, it appears that after the latest update 2.9.5.55918 Missiles Shot-At Data Synchronization that the accuracy of the shot page is a lot better than earlier on. I can now enter the co-ordinates of the shot page as a target or waypoint then use that as the acquisition source, slave the TADS to it and be pretty close to the destroyed target to be able to do a BDA. Although that technique is pretty much made redundant with the link function. Cheers
  21. Here is a track file of what I'm trying to demonstrate i.e. the shot page co-ordinates don't match up with the target acquisition. If anyone has any thoughts whether or not it could be my technique or the discussed INU drift, a bug etc. Cheers. shot accuarcy.trk
  22. Hi Floyd1212, I did as you suggested I was able to make a CAQ point(T56) over or very close to the shot X and then slave the TADS to it using it as an ACQ point. I tried adding a TGT point using the cursor over the shot X but I may have been having finger trouble as it wouldn't work and for some reason my track didn't save either so I will fly it again and try to save it and post it. Another thing I noticed in the updates is that we will be getting the Link function soon and my understanding is you can link the TADS to what the FCR is seeing which will give a real time BDA.
  23. So I went out and just before I did any acquisitioning of targets I landed and did INU 1 and INU 2 resets, then waited until they had realigned ( got the map back on the TSD). This didn't really provide the accuracy I was hoping for using the co-ordinates of the shot page to create a WP and then making the WP my ACQ source and slaving the TADS to it. What I did notice during all of this was the INU position confidence was changing from green to white, white meaning the radial position error is greater than 50 metres, I also noticed on the ten minute flight from Batumi to the cross runway airfield, which is where I have my targets set up, that the INU position confidence was sometimes up to a kilometre out, all the time the INUs were using doppler data. So I think [DE] T-Bone is correct in saying it is an INU problem for accuracy although doing an INU reset didn't solve the problem. It could be that when I take a hellfire shot(radar or laser) the INU accuracy is out by 50-100 metres and when I use those shot co-ordinates that would be the reason why I'm not going back to the destroyed target and have to search around a bit to find the target. Is this INU accuracy going out greater than 50 metres on a regular basis a known bug or just the reality of GPS/INS systems? If it is a bug can someone let me know and I will post with a track into the bugs area. I also mentioned in my original post I have done an FCR sweep and used the TGT button (LS4) to populate the targets in the TSD and when I make them the ACQ source and slave the TADS to it they are not pointing the TADS directly to the targets either. But that turned out to be a red herring as subsequent FCR scans and populating the target page and using them as the ACQ source was spot on when slaving the TADS. Thanks everyone.
