  1. You could always just make a copy of the mission file, rename it then mess with it :smilewink: I know what you mean though, we all have our foibles :D
  2. This is what happened to me with whatever compression method I tried. That's why I set Winrar to open the .miz files directly. Doing it this way makes it very simple - double click to open, drag stuff out, edit it then drag and drop back in (overwrite original still in .miz), close the file. You can easily delete or add stuff within the .miz file, like a custom config\views folder for example. Also has the big advantage of maintaining the original compression format used by DCS. No need to extract the whole thing or recompress after playing around with it. For Windows 10: Screenshot 1 = Show hidden file extensions (best to have this on - hidden files not necessary but handy) Screenshot 2 = Set Winrar to open .miz files (same procedure for 7zip or other app)
  3. Updated mod for latest DCS update - 2.5.6.55363. Find it here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=286616 ( post # 4 )
  4. Found the mod that allows fixed wing to spawn anywhere and updated it to work with latest DCS update - 2.5.6.55363 OVGME Mod attached. See screenshot for how to update it after future DCS updates. Plane Spawn Anywhere 24-09-20.rar
  5. The AM2 Mat FARP has a good service radius so you can put it off to the side of a road and it will still service an aircraft that is on the road beside it. PS. My example shows a Ka-50 because you still can't start fixed wing aircraft on ground. I thought that would go hand in hand with enabling all aircraft to rearm at FARPs. I'm hoping that will follow shortly? ED? Please enable fixed wing to start from ground so we can put them on roads. You can also make it invisible if you want and just mark the spot where it is with static objects or vehicles or whatever. Very good for making a realistic roadside FARP.
  6. In the changelog it says "Enabled all aircraft types to rearm from friendly FARP objects". "FARP object" means the FARP itself so you will need to place one. Also, I'm pretty sure the DCS FARPs will still need command post, supply vehicles, FARP tent etc to enable all FARP services, so you'll have to put in the full set to make it work. There is a very good alternative though - Suntsag's AM2 Mat mod. You only need to place a single mat to enable full FARP services. They come in a few different sizes and the mod also contains several nice static objects you can add to your FARP to make it look good. Definitely recommend checking it out. Way better than default FARPs. You can get it here:- https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=273049 (post number 8 )
  7. Multi Keyboard Remapper - Instructions in that post you linked to - download is available on CNET https://download.cnet.com/Multi-Keyboard-Remapper/3000-2094_4-76473055.html
  8. Should be as simple as drag and drop if you can open the .miz file with 7zip, or you've renamed it to .zip or .rar I use Winrar and set it to open .miz files without having to rename them. All I do is open the .miz with Winrar then drag and drop whatever file into it and close Winrar, done. You can drag and drop stuff out and in to extract and insert. Hope that's helpful.
  9. You're welcome. Happy to help out. The Historical filter is quite a recent addition - 15/07/2020 to be exact, in DCS 2.5.6.52196. New enough that it isn't in the 2020 user manual yet. Quote from DCS Changelog: "Introduced Historical mode filter in the ME. The historical mode is designed to facilitate the creation of historical mission scenarios. If the author of the mission wants to use equipment only for a given year, he can click on the small button with a clock in the bottom line of the Mission Editor, after which all lists of equipment and aircraft are filtered out for a given year. The lists will show only those aircraft or equipment that were in service with the selected country in a given year. This mode can be turned on and off in the process of creating a mission if you need to select objects outside a given year." EDIT: Thought I should add - the Historical Filter takes the "given year" from the date set in the "Time and Weather" tab.
  10. I have both stable and open beta on my PC. Armed speedboats are in both. You need to uncheck the "Historical Filter" in your mission editor to see them. Your Historical Filter is on, which is why your list says "Static Object - 2016". Uncheck that filter and you will see the speedboats
  11. They are still there under both "Naval Groups" and "Static Objects". Under Naval Groups they are a bit down the list, not listed alphabetically. Just scroll down until you find them.
  12. Is this the message you got? - see screenshot This is not a virus. It happens when the app is made by a small group and is therefore "unsigned". Only companies and corporations can sign their apps. The program is only trying to access a file that it created for itself - the CRASHLOG.TXT. Your antivirus only flags this up because the app is unsigned.
  13. Maybe try this https://www.combatflite.com/
  14. Yeah that kinda threw me as well, the fact that they could be activated and the fact that the user manual states in caps and underlined that they MUST be set to a day or so after mission start. I thought this was the norm and what everyone did. Its a pain that there's totally misleading stuff like that in the official manual but like you said, it works now and that's the main thing. Thank you again for sharing your Zeus script and for your help in troubleshooting my problem.
  15. @lahsoldier I had changed my command character to #, as I said in my earlier post. That is why you couldn't get anything to work until you'd changed out the scripts files. I also said "I've set the start time to next day or after as per DCS manual then selected late activation." which I think you both missed. Perhaps this is a good reminder to us all to make sure we read and understand other peoples posts before replying to them. We all make that mistake at some point, me included, so no disrespect intended. Just a friendly reminder to us all.
  16. Eureka! Found the problem  Turns out I'd been misled by reading the latest "DCS User Manual EN 2020.pdf" in the "Doc" folder in Open Beta. See the screenshot below and note what it says in CAPS AND UNDERLINED. I can only guess that this hasn't been fully implemented yet as you can clearly activate groups that are NOT set to a start time a day or more after mission start. You wouldn't have noticed that my start time was set to 8:0:0/2 unless you'd unchecked the late activation tick box. With that box checked, the start time shows as 0:0:0/0. I set my start time to 8:0:0/0 and that fixed the problem. Anyway, glad we found the problem - all is good now. Thanks for your help guys, really appreciated.
  17. Thanks for testing that out for me, much appreciated. Thing is though, as I stated in my last post, I can activate groups no problem with -act- but can't spawn them with the -s- command. I've tried using very simple names, all lower case letters, all upper case letters but nothing works. They just won't spawn for some unknown reason.
  18. I've seen this as well. Quite a few spots on the coastline are wrong in the ALT view but seemingly correct in the SAT view.
  19. Googled it and apparently it goes by either name. Must be ok then. Shoulda googled before posting, I know... duh! Interesting though
  20. Firstly - loving the map. Great job guys, thank you. Came across this today - discrepancy between town name and associated airport. I'm assuming this is an error? If it is, its a small one but thought you'd want to know about it nonetheless.
  21. NOTE: Only works in open beta - doesn't work in current stable 2.5.6.52437 Here is a version that keeps the indicators but makes them much smaller on the top right. This is made for 1920 x 1080 monitor. You will need to edit it for other resolutions. Tested it online and it passes IC. Ka-50 HUD Only - Small Indicators.rar
  22. NOTE: This only seems to work in latest open beta - doesn't work in current stable 2.5.6.52437 I can't find a way to disable the indicators completely but I did find how to move them off screen and out of your view. This will probably fail IC - I haven't tested it though. (EDIT: Just tested it online and it passes IC) EDIT: Made OVGME mod - attached below (File has "y" value of 3000. Edit it if you need to) TIP: Press LSHIFT+L (Lamps Test) to light up all indicators so you can check they are all off screen. Ka-50 HUD Only - no Indicators.rar
  23. Tested again today and all your template spawns work as described. I assumed your Buk units were singles when I saw three different designations for them. My bad. I can get everything to work ok except spawning my own late activated groups. Tried in stable and open beta, same thing. Is there some kind of naming convention to follow or do they need to be visible before activation? I've set the start time to next day or after as per DCS manual then selected late activation. I can then activate them but can't spawn them. Simple test mission below (open beta). Maybe you can spot what dumb mistake I'm making  (I set my command character to # btw) PS, a suggestion - could you add a selectable delay for explosions? The person typing in the command doesn't get to see the explosion as it is finished before you get out of map view. Zeus Test.miz
  24. Thanks for implementing that, it will be very handy. I've got spawns working from your templates and smoke markers etc but need some help with group spawns. I'm wanting to create air defence groups like SA11 Buk etc as your templates have only single units for them. In your manual it states "requires a late activated group set up in the mission editor as a template." I can't seem to get this to work though. If I set up a group and set it to late activation then save it as a template, it doesn't save the late activation part in the template and I can't get it to spawn with your commands. I can activate late groups but not make templates and spawn them. Do the templated groups have to be on the map somewhere or simply saved as a template? Also, will my own templates work while yours are loaded with the "Gamemaster_Templates.lua"? I've tried with and without yours loaded and still can't get my groups to spawn from templates. I must be doing something wrong somewhere?
  25. A famous photo that some of you will have seen before. I remember seeing this a long time ago and it still impresses me as much now as it did then. Recently came across it again and thought I'd share it for those who haven't seen it. Must be a really weird feeling for the pilots, sitting at such an unnatural angle whilst only moving slowly forwards. Awesome to see though, pity there's no video of it to be found. Link to source photo website page which has the story of the picture. https://1000aircraftphotos.com/Contributions/11201.htm
