  1. I dont know where, but I bet that there is place somewhere to chanfe that, im this sim you have to search high and low for days to find what you want, but so far there has always been a way for me.
  2. Thanks to you both I wont be buying the touchscreens for while, but when I do I'll taking your comments on board and let you know how i get on.
  3. I dont have an issue with setting the view, I have tried 1 big screen versus 5 viewports and to be honest the 5 viewports helps the fps a bit, bit looks really weird when looking around the cockpit, I have setting one big screen covering monitors much better. However my question was in relation to the acer touch screens working or not?
  4. Maybe if I dont use eyefinity, and I setup the centre screen as my main screen then, extend the desktop to the other 4 screens and use softth to render all screen it might work, what do think?
  5. Thanks very interesting I hadn't thought about that. What I am thinking to do is use the centre screen of the triple screen eyefinity as one touch screen and a second touch screen below that, that is not part of the eyefinity group, do you think that would work?
  6. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You I can now use the multiplayer menu for the first time, although the test doesnt line up and I can actually see the servers in the list, but I can now connect with my friends :D that is good enough for me for now
  7. Actually I have tried it, and it does work well for triple monitor setup, as it resizes the x axis to fit on the single centre monitor. However I have five monitors in a sort of cross configuration 3 horizontal and 3 vertical. So when I try your fix it now stretches down the three vertical monitors. I have tried adjusting comparing the files you with the original and wow, there are so many changes to make. Before in Blackshark somebody posted a change to the view.lua file that could put all the GUI menus into a window say 1920x1080 but would still run the sim in you full screen hi resolution mode that is set in the options. I am bit by bit trying to go through avery multiplayer menu file to adjust the vertical but it is very hard to make sure that I dont mess anything up and that I dont miss something. Just looking for an easier option here.
  8. That does not work for me as I only use one camera across all five of my monitors.
  9. Guys does anyone know a way to resize the multi player GUI so that it all fits on one screen? I seem to remember on blackshark somebody posted a way to keep the GUI in a window while still slowing the sim to go full screen, but I can't find that anywhere now. For me it's impossible to use multiplayer at the moment as all the buttons are off screen.
  10. @ratcatcher, Agree the gfx card is awesome not sure how much gfx memory it has, I recommend that you should get more than 2G. I have been thinking about upgrading to something like that as well. One thing you need to be careful about is that sometimes ATI put more connectors on the back than can actually used. I am not sure about this card, but for sure a previous card if you used one port on the card it meant you could not use the other. As for exporting mfd's no I have nit tried it. My reason is very simple with my set up I can pretty much see all the gauges and instruments in my centre and lower monitors without needing to move my head too much, the side panels I can also see just by turning my head with track ir just a little bit. I am thinking about upgrading my monitors to the acer 23" touchscreen ones, as then I don't need to use the mouse to click the cockpit and it will be much more realistic to touch the switches and dials on the screen. At the moment although running at full high res, I don't have the distances for trees and clutter very high and I don't use HDR at all, so I am thinking to upgrade my graphics card to one like you are thinking about so that I can get the full gfx effects.
  11. @ratcatcher, I don't think there is anything wrong with ur CPU or memory, I run 5 24" monitors with an I7 980x at stock speed, what I have found with dcs graphics engine is that it does not take advantage of mulit gpu configurations such as crossfire or sli. Therefore having 2 5870's won't help you anymore than having only 1. What is needed when going to multi monitor high resolution graphics is 1. A high performance gpu and 2. A lot of graphics memory on the gpu that is being used to render the graphics. I have a single 5870 eyefinity 6 graphics card with all 5 monitors connected to it, it has 2G of graphics memory, and I get between 30 and 40 frames per second, my resolution in the sim is set to 6030x3440. I use a combination of eyefinity and softh to get this. Here is a link to a picture of my setup, I think if you have standard 5870 graphics cards then you will only be using 1G of memory, and your total screen memory requirements may exceed that when you add the total of your 4 monitors rendering resolution together. S
  12. Hi Greb and All, I am loving this sim and now have finally got it running on all five of my monitors and it looks great. I am using a combination of eyefinity and SoftTH to create one large virtual screen of 6024x3340 (includes bezels), so I dont need to use any special lua file for my screen layout, I just use the 1Camera.lua and setup my resolution in the options menu. I do this instead of setting up five cameras as it just looks more real. But I have one big issue, in that I can not see the menus or the messages as they are displayed off of the real screens in the top right corner of the virtual one big screen. I tried playing around with the menu.res file to see if I can move the radio commands menus to my centre screen, but I have had no luck with this. I am now using the version 1.1.0.7 of the sim and its menu.res file is slighty different than the one you show here, so I am wondering if anyone has updated their menu.res file in the latest version. Secondly I am wondering about the what the different sections of the file refer to (E.G. dialog, static and multicolumnlistbox sections) and what the coord values refer to. I believe that it is {starting x point, starting y point, width, height} from 0,0 point being the top left corner, but I am not sure where the 0,0 point is, is it the 0,0 point of the whole screen as in the 0,0 point of the 1Camera.lua file, or is there another subscreen 0,0 point that I dont know about, if so how do I set or move the subscreen. It seems to me like there is some sort of subscreen that has a default size of 1024x768, if that is so how does that relate to the screen size that I have of 6024x3340. Also any ideas how I would move the reply messages or instruction messages while in the training missions etc to the centre screen. Any feedback or help would be very much appriciated. FYI below you can see my setup. you can see Blackshark set up the same way here.
  13. Did anyone get the chance to look over this or had any success with the 64bit SoftTH???
  14. Hi All, I have had a look through this whole thread and tried a few things but still seem to getting issues setting up my multi monitors is DCS Warthog. Basically my monitor config is like the attached file, triple monitors using eyefinity through the middle and a monitor above and below the centre montior. Giving me five monitors in a cross config. What I am trying to do is have one large screen config the spans the whole monitor configuration. To do that I am using the latest SoftTH 2.04 64bit version. I have achieved the previously with DCS Blackshark as you can see in my Youtube clip here. http://www.youtube.com/embed/hgYxIm8mZso I am using the 64bit version of Warthog and SoftTH. However everytime I try to actually get into a mission, I get a dialogue box come up that says this. DCS: A-10C has stopped working Windows can check online for a solution to the problem. Then with the option to check online or to close the program, then with the problem details which dont mean a lot to me in a drop down option below. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, An ATI Eyefinity 6 Graphics card with the latest ATi Drivers, all monitors are connected through either display port or active display port adaptors. I have tried full and not full screen mode, both with the same result. Does anyone have any ideas what I maybe doing wrong? Has anyone else had any success with the 64bit SoftTH?? This is my config.SoftTHconfig This is my option.lua (graphics portion) This is my file called 1BigCamera.lua
  15. Hi Guys, It is pretty easy to reassign the normal keymap for the DCS BS, but I am having real trouble to find where I can remap the communication menu keys, the F1 - F12 keys used during communications with the tower, ground crew and the other BS's. I want to be able to do this so that I can use a different keypad and not have to use the huge normal keyboard for that. Any help would be much appreciated.
  16. Hi Sweinhart3, yeah I agree totally with you that the SIM should be able to be run on a level that is not really designed to try and tax the latest graphics cards, making it available to as many people as possible. However I also think that by supporting a multi GPU with extra graphics memory that can be then used as well, the SIM can be more scalable to high resolution systems like my own, where I am running a 5760 x 2160 resolution, over four monitors, and maybe six monitors soon. This enables a virtual surround cockpit where you are surrounded by the graphics. I believe that the SIM already supports Multi CPU with the latest patches, I have not really seen any improvement in performance though.
  17. Well I do more than just run the DCS sim with this setup, you can checkout my website http://www.congo-toey.com/my-rig/ and see that I am seriously into overclocking and benchmarking as well other sorts of FPS games. This rig works very well for the other sorts of things I do. I am new to flight sims, but this is for sure a fantastic intro to the sim work, and I am lovong every minute of it, my flying is getting much better and I can even kill things now as well. Landings are still a bit bumpy but getting better all the time. I really think there should be some sort of sim flight school where you cna learn the basics. I just think it is a shame that I can not use the processing power that I have, but I will likely upgrade to having multiple ATI eyefinity cards within a few months and then change to 6 monitors on the display port technology. The lucid hydra sounds interesting, as at the moment to get the Physx of nVidia working with my ATI cards I have to use old nVidia drivers as they stopped letting us do it with newer cards. Although I only really use it for benchmarking. I think that DCS blackshark is an amazing piece of engineering and well done to all the people who managed to simulate this helicopter and all the supporting parts of the simulator so well, but could you imagine how good the scenary could be that you are flying in, if the rendering engine could support multi gpu's, as one does so well with what is there already.
  18. Actually I have 5xGPU's (1GTX 275 for PhysX and two HD4870x2 in Quad Crossfire) and 4x24" monitors, plus a TrackIR 5 amd a Triplehead2Go. With this setup I am trying to get a fully immersive and realistic graphical surround experience. I have tried many confugrations, having 4 views (centre, left, right and bottom), or having one view on the Triplehead and one on the the bottom monitor. The main issue is that when using more than one view getting the views to line up properly is nearly impossible and also using the Triplehead2go makes it all very distorted because the native resolution of the monitors is different than the options available using the TH2G due to the restrictions of using a dual link DVI cable. Even so having the TH2G connected into my Quad crossfire setup and the other montior on my GTX 275, had not any benifit at all because all the TH2G data and the graphics that was being displayed was all being processed on on GPU on the ATI cards and then the display information was being sent out to each display connection. So now I have removed the TH2G and connected one monitor to one graphics card connection having one large view (5760x2160), this gives me the best looking graphics accross all four monitors, it all lines up perfectly and by changing the view angle to 200 and then zooming out to the max zoomed out, it really loks like you are sat in the cockpit. But as the monitors need to be configured in windows7 as one main monitor and the others are extended from it, the GPU of the graphics card connected to the main monitor, the 0,0 point for the rendering, is the one that is used for rendering al the data. It turns out that my single GTX 275 GPU overclocked (14 fps average) renders better than the single HD 4870 GPU overclocked(7 fps avergae). It is not like I have a slow CPU either, because I have an i7 975 overclocked to 4.3 GHz on water, running on a EVGA Classified motherboard, the CPU load is about 40 -50% at max. I have 6Gigs of DDR3 memory running 1800 MHz, so dont think that is an issue either. I do know that DSC must be rendering the data that is outside of my montiors view as well, as the resolution I am using actually should span over 6 monitors. So I cant help but wonder how great it would be, if I could make use of the other 4 GPU's to render the data as well. What a great experience that would be.
  19. I am using 2 HD4870x2's in quad crossfirex and it seems that dcs blackshark only uses one of the gpu's. Does anyone know if thissims supports crossfirex, I am using catalyst 9.9 drivers, windows 7 64bit.
  20. I have only just upgraded to 1.01a and I think it dod fix the phantom monitor issue.
  21. Hi Guys, I will try to answer all of you at the same time. I am using windows 7 Screen resolution on TH2G is 3840x1024 and my 4th monitor is 1280x1024. I have a i7 975 CPU with 6Gigs of DDR3 2000 memory. I use windowed mode because it is windows 7. I havent looked to see what FPS I am getting, but as I have a very good 5 GPU rig, I dont think I will have an issue with FPS, but I will try and find out for you. I dont use the nVidea control panel because I use mostly ATI Graphics cards. I do already use notepad++ as my editor and just for your information below is cut from my lua files. I will try 1.05 view and see how that looks. This is from options.lua ["graphics"] = { ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "4Cameras", ["color"] = "32", ["heatBlr"] = 1, ["scenes"] = "high", ["water"] = 3, ["fullScreen"] = false, ["visibRange"] = "High", ["aspect"] = 6.25, ["textures"] = 2, ["shadows"] = 3, ["display_mode"] = { ["avi"] = { ["bpp"] = 32, ["resolution"] = "640x480", ["full_screen"] = false, ["aspect"] = 1.333333333, ["height"] = 480, ["width"] = 640, }, -- end of ["avi"] }, -- end of ["display_mode"] ["effects"] = 3, ["lights"] = 2, ["haze"] = 1, ["terrPrld"] = "20", ["height"] = 1024, ["resolution"] = "3840x1024", ["civTraffic"] = 0, ["width"] = 6400, }, -- end of ["graphics"] and this is the 4camera.lua Description = 'ABRIS and Shkval on the right and with 3 identical monitors each with its own camera on the center' Viewports = { Left = { x = 1280; y = 0; width = 1280; height = 1024; viewDx = -1; viewDy = 2; aspect = 1.25; }, Center = { x = 2560; y = 0; width = 1280; height = 1024; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 2; aspect = 1.25; }, right = { x = 3840; y = 0; width = 1280; height = 1024; viewDx = 1; viewDy = 2; aspect = 1.25; }, bottom = { x = 5120; y = 0; width = 1280; height = 1024; viewDx = 0; viewDy = -3; aspect = 1.25; } }
  22. Interesting, how did you come up with that aspect?
  23. How do I change FOV and Zoom
  24. Problems Getting my cockpot view right? Hi Guys, I am new the whole flight sim scene, and decided to try DCS Blackshark as my first sim. So far I am really enjoying the whole learning to fly and the realism thing. I am lucky enough to have a very high end gaming rig, with Dual ATI HD 4870x2's in quad crossfire, and also a single nVidea GTX 275. I am running a Matrox Triplehead2Go with three 24" monitors connected to it, that I use the ATI crossfire setup with, and I also have a single 24" monitor that I connect via the GTX 275. The problem I have is getting the view of the cockpit right, in my multi monitor setup, I have tried all sorts of configurations and the best I can get is using a 4 camera setup one for each monitor but it still just does'nt look right, as in the picture attached, but as you can see there problems where the views have the same parts of the cockpit in them. I would really like to have my setup like this guys in this video http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMjE4NjYxNTI=.html, I have been trying hard but cant seem to get it to be one like one camera shown on all monitors. This is from options.lua ["graphics"] = { ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "4Cameras", ["color"] = "32", ["heatBlr"] = 1, ["scenes"] = "high", ["water"] = 3, ["fullScreen"] = false, ["visibRange"] = "High", ["aspect"] = 6.25, ["textures"] = 2, ["shadows"] = 3, ["display_mode"] = { ["avi"] = { ["bpp"] = 32, ["resolution"] = "640x480", ["full_screen"] = false, ["aspect"] = 1.333333333, ["height"] = 480, ["width"] = 640, }, -- end of ["avi"] }, -- end of ["display_mode"] ["effects"] = 3, ["lights"] = 2, ["haze"] = 1, ["terrPrld"] = "20", ["height"] = 1024, ["resolution"] = "3840x1024", ["civTraffic"] = 0, ["width"] = 6400, }, -- end of ["graphics"] and this is the 4camera.lua Description = 'ABRIS and Shkval on the right and with 3 identical monitors each with its own camera on the center' Viewports = { Left = { x = 1280; y = 0; width = 1280; height = 1024; viewDx = -1; viewDy = 2; aspect = 1.25; }, Center = { x = 2560; y = 0; width = 1280; height = 1024; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 2; aspect = 1.25; }, right = { x = 3840; y = 0; width = 1280; height = 1024; viewDx = 1; viewDy = 2; aspect = 1.25; }, bottom = { x = 5120; y = 0; width = 1280; height = 1024; viewDx = 0; viewDy = -3; aspect = 1.25; } } Is there anyone that can help me?
