  1. V1.30.01 has been up for a while on Pimax d/l page. I'll probably hang in till some major updates later on... if I need to. Well, currently I'm only playing one solid game (ACC) and performance is great, no view drifting (provided certain amount of ambient light is present) and NO CRASHES... just my R8 coming out of the carousel on Nordschleife I know, I know... once I go back to flight simming my happiness might fade away a bit.
  2. lol, quick edit Mizzy
  3. Is this POS 'recall' included with it? Perhaps it's already recording your secret moves in game
  4. Correct. On the left/right sliders I had to bring the right image toward the center a few notches. On the up/down sliders I decided to bring both images equally up a bit. I 'seems' like the sweet spot got sweeter? The fish eye effect is noticeable at the very bottom of the total image. When in game though I'm completely oblivious to it. I notice it more in the SteamVR home view. After setting the offsets I went back to the IPD knob again and had to move the lenses closer 3 or 4 clicks to make the green reference lines perfectly clear and uniform on the right edge of the horizontal lines. A bit of a pain to set it all up. Now... I need to put couple of spot welds to keep it in place
  5. I learned about updates from ED so until I'm positively certain all possible crap have been cleaned up and things are working 'for sure' not just in a changelog... I'm not updating anything. So far I haven't run into any issues... some 'weirdness' perhaps but eventually managed to work with it. So... my anti-update firewall is up for now, lol.
  6. Well, since I'm the OP of this thread I might as well chime in briefly on my initial impression of Crystal Light. My last VR set was G2 so yeah... when I saw this headset I smirked a little but after playing with straps and the knob It feels OK. Now, the setup... The initial basic setup was quick and easy but to get a fairly clear image I had to look toward the tip of my nose and even clearer when I angled the right side of the set upward just a smidgen so I knew more had to be done... clicked on advanced options in PimaxPlay and instead of poking in the dark decided to check YT. Sure as heck, Sebastian Ang to the rescue, lol. He already had a vid showing a simple way to set the offset (left/right) with the help of controllers. It worked! I also had to bring the picture in both lenses up a bit. This part was trial and error but I finally got it! Looks great. So far I ran it at 90hz only. No problems noticed yet. I haven't tried any flight sims yet. (DCS uninstalled currently ) but I did burn a few tires in racing a sim (ACC) and I was quite happy with image and performance. I also monitored the temps, volts, loads etc. - cool as a cucumber. Well, the CPU (13900k) max volts were 'under control' now (lol) and never shot above 1.4v. I don't like having PimaxPlay, Steam, SteavVR windows all open during play but I'll see if I can tinker with this some more.
  7. Court martial for both parties! under... DCSMJ
  8. I'm still trying to figure out what brand of 'tobaccee' they chew Seems like they bypass internal testing and drop it down on our heads. Perhaps each item in the change log should have 'fixed-verified' or 'fixed-probably' note.
  9. ok, last blurp before the thread goes: poker table - Nick's warbird v. Ron's F15E code+support... oh, and a promise to convert the Mudhen into an Advanced Eagle sometime later, at least power-plant wise
  10. Exactly... then, as soon as a bit or two of 'info' pops up, the dots from all sources SHALL be connected in any possible pattern, including random then... damage control kicks in. Not an easy task after the connected dots (mostly negative) need to be broken up and reconnected or discarded.
  11. Stock up on food and water! Perhaps the judge will give them both a good kick in the butt... actually, the best 'kick' for progress is competition, it has always been
  12. I know, just trying to add some drama... as if we need more
  13. You know what, I might actually do that. I'll call Kaspersky Labs and tell them politely: 'Hey, I know you guys are doing a great job like nailing Israeli Pegasus, discovering some 'unlisted' commands in Intel's ME package, etc. but... my DCS update process needs to be smooth so check these darn files and make sure I won't have any hiccups in the future' OK, it's a double whammy in this post so it's probably heading for the trash bin, lol.
  14. It's the simplest protocol in the world that existed for eons, both for corporations and governments...
  15. Damn it! Here goes my main theory. For some reason I thought the only thing they agreed upon was keeping the neutered module in the store Now, ricocheting into a different direction: I have a fuzzy picture on ED's structure... never bothered to dig deeper. Am I correct here? The core coders are in Russia but the headquarters, sales, putting updates together and rolling them out to different servers is in Switzerland?
  16. Sorry, I had to google... I'd guess he's probably crashing a lot these days. I might be wrong
  17. There are tons of them in the Razbam thread. They might be able to help with marital issues and... I think they also know how to fix the Mudhen radar
  18. So now you need to show the devs how to do it. They might even have a copy of AVIRA, hehe.
  19. Lots of advice here for ED. I'm sure they're reading every post and taking it to heart (LOL) With that in mind, here's my advice: Fire the lawyers and other 'elements', Hire more good coders and do everything yourself = better integration, easier to debug and harden the entire package (especially around updates), Finish... or at least debug one or two of your own jets just to show you can do it. Multi-thread... well, I'll leave that one alone since the single thread is still available. -- Or... keep on the current path, whatever the priorities are
  20. Before the next chapter starts. What have I learned: (1) Corporations are greedy and like to hide everything to protect reputation. (2) Customers like to shine a big spotlight on every dark place and hope for some 'whistleblower' to reveal the entire story/scheme... Oh wait, I already knew that What else I know... Oh yes, the lawyers love to proceed very quickly for 'some' reason.
  21. Seems like we're heading in the right direction... https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/maladaptive-traits-ai-systems-are-learning-lie-and-deceive
  22. I just saw one of his vids. He took a Hawk for a spin over the Mach Loop in another sim, remembering GOOD OLD DAYS. I actually watched the entire vid. It doesn't happen too often considering my attention span, then I tried to find out what his politics were in another vid and... He's all right in my book Now, oh yeah we're talking about flight sim training. In my opinion nothing compares to a well organized online squadron (free ) The question is which one. I can't make any recommendations now since I've been away from online activities for a long time but I'm sure few other folks here can probably give you some good advice. If you're a complete beginner you might prefer a laid back atmosphere and there are groups with this approach also. But... once you get up to speed, the fun begins... It's addictive, especially the inter squadron matches. Many times I had to get up at 3 AM to accommodate Aussie teammates and others but I didn't mind... I still had to go to work after that, lol.
  23. You mean other then this one tiny 'unlisted' one?
  24. At least there is communication... I'll give it a shot, see what happens.
  25. Perhaps a little OT but a little fun fact... In DCS we loose a nose gear door at ~ 330, 340kts. Here's a clip (timestamped) from an interview with an ex Blues guy 'Feed' talking about a little incident with the nose gear popping open at 6.7g / M.99 https://youtu.be/ezHErcQ6880?si=30bwwEFwcJ-6BHFy&t=3328
