  1. I have version 1.2.6.18933 and I'm still getting this problem. What new version are you talking about? And yes I should run the game from run.exe or no I shouldn't? Your answer wasn't very clear.
  2. My shortcut points to "C:\Games\DCS World\Run.exe" Should I run the game from something else?
  3. i7 950 GTX 660 Ti 2GB 8GB ram Win 7 64 bit
  4. Me either, especially since this information isn't in the DCS Su-25t manual. SEAD worked flawlessly in Flaming Cliffs, and now all of a sudden all the mechanics are changed with no explanation or documentation on it (that I can find anyway). If this guy knows how it works, why not explain everything you know to help the community get acclimated to the new system? How does holding useful information benefit you?
  5. Every time I run DCS World and then exit, in the task manager on the processes tab, Windows nt Kernel & System is taking 50% of my CPU usage which impacts any other game I try to run after exiting DCS. After rebooting all is well, but this ONLY happens when running DCS World. Something obviously is going on, just not sure what. Anyone else seeing this?
  6. 1.2.6 is completely unplayable. I've reverted to 1.2.5 until they fix the latest patch. Thank god for DCS_Updater.exe.
  7. So what about the DCS A10C Steam version I purchased? Can I use that with the standalone version of DCS World?
  8. I have DCS World on Steam. I installed the original LOMAC to it's own folder on my main drive. I bought FC3 during the sale and tried to install it. When it asks me where to install it to, the path is blank and when I choose the path: C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld I get the error message: "DCS World 1.2.6.17746 must be installed." It IS installed. I double checked that version in the lower right corner of the DCS World main splash screen. I then read about a mod manager, but I don't have that link in my DCS World main menu, and after reading some more it seems the Steam version of DCS World doesn't have the mod manager? So how do I get FC3 installed into my Steam version of DCS World? I'm out of options.
  9. I made a temp button out of a toothpaste plastic cap for the meantime. I think leafer is interested in buying the set, so we'll see if I need the new button or not. Thanks!
  10. I don't think it uses the same part. The warthog button is smaller. Besides, I looked for 20 minutes for a replacement parts list for the Warthog or any kind of parts warranty at all and I didn't find anything. Why does Thrustmaster make it so hard to get information for their products on THEIR website?
  11. I moved recently, and the bubble wrap I put around my cougar stick somehow popped out the red S2 button when I unwrapped everything. Unfortunately I didn't realize it was popped out until I had already thrown away all the bubble wrap and the box it was shipped in, so it's gone. I tried going to http://cougar.flyfoxy.com/ and I looked at their replacement parts list (http://cougar.flyfoxy.com/warranty_parts.php) and the S2 button wasn't there. So I contacted Thrustmaster technical support directly, and their reply was: "We thank you for your interest in Thrustmaster products.Unfortunately we must inform you that the S2 button is no longer available in the spare part list. If you have any other question, feel free to contact us." So...now what? I'm actually looking to resell it because I'm interested in getting the Warthog HOTAS, but I'm reluctant to sell it while it's missing a button. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement S2 button, or a solution to use something else in it's socket? Or...if anyone here is willing to buy it off me I'll sell it at a reduced price due to the fact it's missing the button. Any ideas/interested buyers?
  12. 12 vs 20 not counting the other 12 A2G aircraft? Uh...
  13. I don't understand why some people are crusading on here against Steam? Would you like to start a new movement, lock arms and barracade Steam headquarters to prevent the whole world from using it? If new users wants to use Steam, let them. And likewise, no one is forcing you complainers to buy any DCS product through Steam. So all the "if A-10 is on steam I'm out" comments are just stupid.
  14. Can we get the manual please?
  15. First, they won't share profit information with consumers. Secondly, why don't you wait more then 2 days before asking if the release is either a "commercial success or failure." You can't brand a product a failure or success in 2 days. No company will know that until at least a couple months or more. Lastly, this is a niche market. And as such this (to my knowledge) is the only modern combat flight sim that's still being updated through the wishes of its user base. Yes they had to raise the price, but that doesn't mean the company isn't going to produce any more products. This thread is premature in my opinion.
  16. Still looking for help on this if anyone is willing to offer their findings.
  17. Yes, 2 years of delays. The product was originally supposed to be released in November of 2007. In September, they said release was imminent and all they had to do was finish the online docs and manuals. Come November, they announced they were completely rebuilding the aircraft from scratch, and here we are in 2010 with no FSX product yet.
  18. Ha. You guys are throwing a fit over a few months. Tell you what, take a trip over to a little website called http://www.airsimmer.com which is developing the Airbus A320 family for Microsoft FS9 and FSX. Developement for that project started prior to...September 2007. Yes it was in developement for over 2 years and guess what...FSX users are STILL waiting for their version to be released, me included. 2+ years is ridiculous. 2+ months is not. When you all have waited over 2 years for FC 2.0 then you can complain.
  19. Has anyone figured a way around the curve of the earth for the blackshark map tiles?
  20. Case, The CDDS files have the .bmp files within them. For example, one CDDS file will have all of the hi-res map tiles, another CDDS file has the low-res with just basic colors and topographical lines. And no, the images don't overlap. If you have ModMan, you can use the CDDS explorer to open any CDDS file you want. Once the CDDS file is open, you can choose any .bmp image in that file, and it displays it for viewing in the viewer. You can extract single files or extract them all into a target folder, which I did. So right now, I have two different folders sitting on my desktop; hi-res and low-res, each containing 300+ .bmp image files (the map tiles) that make up the entire LockOn map. I haven't looked at the Blackshark CDDS files yet.
  21. Crunch, Polecat and I were able to find the location of the files which are CDDS files. We can also use ModMan to view them, the only problem is there are 400+ images within the CDDS file that are assembled within the game to produce the entire map of the game. My question to the community is, is there a program or piece of software that will fit all the images together to produce 1 large map? I know it's been done before, as there is a map available on lockon files that shows the whole map (only problem is it has a grid overlay that I can't get rid of, and the author of the map seems to not exist anymore) which can be found at http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=173&lid=288&ttitle=Full_size_map_of_Crimea#dldetails (you must be logged into lockon files to see this I believe). If that guy can do it, it must be possible. I really don't think he spent a week sitting in photoshop fitting them all together like a jigsaw puzzle. Any advice on this?
