I've tried the RWR, but this can't stay very accurate heading for the 90deg . I often get 1 or 2 deg out of the allowable error heading, then being chased by the 120C.... I think in the LR, you don't need the 3-9line, run away is easier and better. In SR, when you need the 3-9line, you often did not have the needed conditions.... If we simply on solo, what else can we do?[i know calling a wingman can make life easier, but just in case]

The flanker should always climb high and shot first. But if you met a experienced F-15 pilot , he can fired AIM120C at the same time. If your missile warning did not scare him away , then you are in trouble. AIM-120C with data-link guidance is very deadly. ER is faster than 120C, but not much in FC2. ER can fly at 4000 and 120C at 3600 (both in high altitude) ER SHOULD reach the target first ,but EAGLE can flee away before the 120C hit and the Flanker can't....Eagle can easily do a 3-9line and break the lock then safely get away while the 120C still tracking on you. I'm pretty sure an AIM-120C in FC2 launch at 8000m at 57KM away can make a kill even you do the snake maneuver..... Do not regard 120C as a short range missile like FC1 anymore....

I'm made some test on 3-9line against AIM-120C , like GG said above, it can be achieved , but very difficult. In my opinion , too much more difficult compared with FC1. To achieve a 3-9line against 120C, there are three main conditions need to met: 1. Put the missile precisely on the 90 deg, this should be very accurate, the allowable bearing error is likely less than +/-4 deg (86~94 deg). put the missile on any other angle(like 80deg or 96deg) , the AIM120C almost NEVER eat the chaff(more than 99%). 2.You should be lower than the missile at least 400M. This should be achieved as earlier as you can , because at last part of the missile flight, the missile altitude will be the same as you. If you do not have this altitude difference, mostly you will get hit . 3.You should deploy chaff when you reach the 90deg heading. Basically more than once per second is recommended. _________________________ For this three conditions, I have to say doing 3-9line maneuver is NOT very effective in FC2. First you have to calculate the 3-9 line heading carefully, then you have to reach the heading precisely in the combat, this not going to be easy. In LR BVR, turn 180 are much easily than making 3-9line, both of them will make you lose the attack position. In SR BVR, most planes will stay at very low altitude, which mean you won't have the altitude difference, then you can NOT break the missile lock... I'm pretty sad about the result and I think most Flanker pilot will be the same.....

THX,my friend

I see........GG, you have any good ideas to accurately getting into the 90 deg when on a combat situation especially when U are close to the enemy ?
-
Very useful imformation,GG, thanks I'd like to ask to against the ARHs, the 3-9 should be : 1.my own flight path vertical to the missile 2.puting the missile at my 3/9 clock which one of it ? My own opinion is (1)
-
I'm testing beaming the ARHs launched in 20KM, but mostly the beaming plus the chaff won't make any good, 120C can maintain a stable lock..... Any I think that does not matter whether it is launched in NEZ or not ,for we are not using the energy but the notch to beat the 120C... I'm tried to make my flight path vertical to the missile OR puting the missile at my 3/9 clock both of them don't work........
-
yeah, but pretty strange, I've tested 120C with visual launch mode, the scan cone is only +/-6° just match the visual mode 12° circle , I've once considered the 120C's scan cone just as +/-6 degreed........ And how about the 3-9line? I'm pretty confused on that wouldn't work......
-
We know 3-9line can simply beat most radar-guided missile in FC1. I've tried to use this tactics against ARH missiles in FC2, but it doesn't work. I 've placed my flight path vertical to the missile flight path and rapidly deploying chaffs, then 120C still manage to follow and make a punch..... So is the 3-9line tactics in FC2 dis-useful to the ARHs anymore? Or just I missed something? PS. How big is the scanning cone of the AIM120C? I heard it is much smaller than that in FC1,but I still met some 20-35 degrees sudden capture and turn at 8-9KM.......

Is there any vehicle can speed up the RELOAD time?

thx,guys -
So we may have to do some override launch of ERs~ And anyone see the difference of ER and EM? They are too much like in FC2, I think even they have the same modelling just the different name...
-
Obviously you met a UFO, Boberro~ bad network connection could cause that....the target "teleport" to a very far distance and your radar can't maintain lock, I've met many times in FC1. To Case, I know the only way we can find now is to fire a missile to the enemy, threaten the TGT to run away or at least give up the guidance.... But I am trying to seek a way to defeat the SARH with a better possibility. I've trying a combined defense method: look-down situation + rapid/continuous chaff dropping + snake maneuver + ECM ON/OFF which works very well in FC1 and doing nothing good in FC2.......
-
Well we both know if a SARH missile inbound, we can make a look-down situation and do a 3-9 line maneuver droping some chaffs, this can always break the radar lock thus get away the SARHs. But this also make myself lose the attack position, if you're a flanker pilot ,this goes worse, you complete lost the attack ability. So I'm asking if there is a way to defeat the SARH by not losing my radar lock? I've tried rapid chaff dropping which is TOO MUCH useful in FC1 and the ECM which is said "should work" by the manual. But, none of them work. SARH will eating the chaff just when you got the luck and this doesn't happen to much....... So, ED and those testers have any information on this? THX;)

F-18 or Mi-24........... -
I've landed on a natural AFB once, I can't get ammo but I DO CAN repair my plane. Just stay on the ramp and shut your engine and have a little patience .

I see..... It mainly a gift for the Chopper Rider, am I right?

Hello, I noticed the 2.1 has a new feature so called “ERROR PROBABILITY FOR RADAR-GUIDED MISSILES ON LOW ALTITUDE” I've noticed that in the README file, but there is no detailed information on that. Does anyone can explain the exactly meaning of the feature? Original readme text ______________________________ Increased the error probability for radar-guided missiles (ARH, SARH, radio-command guided) based on altitude above ground. Currently the error probability increases from 300 meters to 0. Maximum error probability is at ground level for a target with minimum radial velocity. Error probability is reduced as radial velocity increases to 500 km/h. Above 500 km/h, error probability is minimal regardless of altitude. ________________________________ What is the "radial velocity", and what will happen if "error" situation occur? THX guys~

The ideal tactics for SU27 against F-15 is just like SFJackBauer said , using the long range of the ER for first shot to make the target go defence, when he is going to turn back, you give him another shot. Keep the target busy dodging your ER and not give him a chance to search U on the radar and fire AIM-120 at close range or at least not able make a good guide for the ARHs. One thing should be mentioned, in FC2 ARHs are much more advanced than the SARHs, You shouldn't consider R-27ER vs AIM-120C is a fair deal, so there are no good using ER to deal with 120 in BVR. This tactics is just give you a way to fight back, not to take advantages over F-15s.
-
Yep ET can still play MADDOG, but the possibility is very very low. ET can only capture a head on target at 8KM average within a 3° cone; that's mean if the target is directly heading at you and doesn't maneuver a bit and you MADDOG your ET very carefully then the ET may hit, otherwise the MADDOG ET is just a heavy ROCKET. By the way , when firing from head on aspect, the ET can NOT resistant too much flares , the anti IR-JAMMING ability is much poorer than FC1.
-
IN FC2 R-27ER is no longer a "A2A ROCKET" anymore , it does go for the target unless he make a correct 3-9 line dodge
-
In FC2 R-27ER/EM is a much better weapon than the ETs for H2H BVR~
-
Try launching from the rear aspect, you will get the LA more than 14KM and the ET is able to reach a running target at that range, very good runner hunter~
