LomacLeague mod is NOT the LOCERF mod repackaged. The two mods both enable all units on both coalitions. The meinit files for both are very similar but not compatible with each other. The LL mod contains about 20 files that the LOCERF mod does not. The LL mod was made in both a ModMan and executable version. The LL mod was made for several different versions of LOMAC. The LOCERF Mod is only in a 1.12a ModMan version. Talon284 was given a link (by someone named Viper) to an unknown .exe version of the LL mod. Whether or not Talon284 installed it correctly or had the correct version of the mod for his installation is unknown. This much is known: any problems encountered by Talon284 can in no way be attributed to the LOCERF mod, the way the LOCERF mod is installed, or the way the LOCERF mod can be uninstalled. ______________________________ Nice final post, Sarge. :smilewink:

Ain't that the damn truth. I point out that the post on the lockonfiles site isn't even about the LOCERF mod.

This system might be useful for future mods that seek approval from the community. However the LOCERF mod has already been time tested by it's use in its former state as the LomacLeague mod. The meinit file that is the heart of this mod has only been changed to reflect RF instead of LL in the added country names. Many, many missions have been flown using this meinit. It is not an idea it is a working, currently used mod. Testimonials to its merits have already been posted here. A track file of it in use would not play back on a machine that does not have the mod installed. If anyone would like a copy of the mod to see for themselves, just PM me.

We don't know what you heard. Please tell exactly what you heard and from whom. Maybe we can help you sort it out. By the way, with or without the LOCERF mod, Russia does not have an A-10.
-
First, you mean 1.02, not 1.2. Starforce was not integrated until 1.1. (Flaming Cliffs) I'm not aware of any problems with the 1.02 patch and Vista. There might be something, but it won't be because of Starforce.

SARGE, since keeping the "Red" and "Blue" coalition identities intact is important to you, what are the respective identifying planesets you ascribe to each coalition?

LOCERF Mission Planning and Dates

Nice post, SARGE. Fudd already has help with the checkrides, and other areas as well. What he really needs is everyone to post well though out, non-confrontational posts like yours. IMO. -
It's still there. The AWACS was weakened.
-
It's not quite that simple. The velocity is squared in the drag equation. Even something as slick as a missile can create very heavy drag forces at very high velocities. So Vmax is increased with the launching platform's speed, but not simply a+b=c. But whether you look at it simplistically or realistically, the modelling still needs work.

Quick answer: no.
-
Simple question then: Have A-10s been used as OPFOR in the real Red Flag?
-
http://archives.econ.utah.edu/archives/a-list/2003w37/msg00059.htm Perhaps those asking for realism should be asking that all non-US aircraft be eliminated from our LOCERF events. But then, that would be stupid, wouldn't it? LOMAC offers us the ability to go beyond reality and the LOCERF mod offers the ability to go even beyond that. If someone simply doesn't want to use a different meinit, that's one thing. Claiming a desire to keep LOCERF as realistic as possible has very little merit. In fact, the reality of Red Flag is that the same planes are on both Red and Blue forces.

Can it be passworded in any way? So that a trusted individual can be assigned ATC duties and regular clients cannot download all LUA information?

It's not released yet, it appears. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=20597&highlight=modman

The two people who answered "I don't understand it" should post here and let us know how we can help you use ModMan. Or even a PM if you don't want to post in public.
-
Please make your own poll then. If you have a question different from mine to ask the community, ask it.
-
If you use it, the answer is "Yes."
-
It has come to my attention that some of us might not know about ModMan. Please select which describes you best.
-
If anyone in this community isn't aware of the benfits of ModMan, they definitely should be told. Regardless of this mod and regardless of RedFlag. You've given me a good idea for a poll in the main forum.

Would 3Squadron be opposed to always having the US and Russia on the same coalition?
-
Without the mod, we will have the US, Ukraine and Georgia against Russia and Israel. Are we really that concerned with the real world? Your opinions on how a member of a squadron should best contribute to his squadron does not answer the question put to you. If you want to compare to the real Red Flag, how many real pilots do you suppose were prohibited from flying their normal ride? I suppose you have the same reluctance to put F-15s on opposite sides?
-
There are two different graphics files and I mentioned them in my first post. They will immediately let the user know if the mod is installed or not upon opening LOMAC. I did ask if you could improve the file that I prepared but I don't see any relevance to this discussion. Arguing the definition of ultimatum and my skin thickness are also pointless. This is a valid point and it would be important to make any use of any mod a well publicized point. One question: Why, in your opinion, should only one coalition have the Su-33 or A-10 available to them? Do you think that a pilot that spends his time flying the A-10 should be expected to fly the Su-25 with equal effectiveness? Ok, two questions. If a squadron needs more pilots for a specific plane, that is a question of strategy, not a limit to the exercise.
-
This is not a thread for ultimatums. It is a thread for discussion. If you don't trust ModMan to replace the backed up meinit file, a copy of the default meinit file can be included in the mod or you can back it up yourself. As "overthinking" and "just fly the damn thing like we did last time", last time we had pilots forced out of their main rides and we can easily avoid that in the future. To ignore it would be "underthinking".
