  1. You've got it. You don't need HL, but it might be easier if your not sure of your IP. Be sure to have port 10308 forwarded for both TCP and UDP if you are behind a firewall and want to host a network game.
  2. Are you sure that shot is actually lofting? Got track? Or Tacview?
  3. T, I think 45 degrees is too much of an angle for your shot. Take a look at the attached Tacview file. It just doesn't loft that much and its a 28nm shot. The only trouble I've had with lofted 120s is losing lock/jamming bandit. And not enough people fly where you can actually use a lofted shot. Lobshot.zip
  4. Maybe I'm not reading you, T. Are you expecting a lob shot at that range? Or if you are comparing it for off-boresight angle of a lob shot, it's not a good comparison. That shot will have the 120 traveling down immediately and a lob shot will have the 120 traveling up. So there will be a significant difference in seeker angle just because of the missile's aspect. Or maybe I don't follow you? Also, around 25nm is about as close as LOMAC will lob a 120. And only at high altitudes.
  5. If two or more clients are starting from the same base, they will always spawn on the ramp, not the runway. They must be separate flights.
  6. http://forum.lockon.ru/showpost.php?p=184499&postcount=26 You can use the Matrox TripleHead2Go thingy with LOMAC.
  7. It should be able to see a target 60 degrees off-boresight.
  8. And this is one of the things that RUINS this game. ED CANNOT leave us in this mess for BS. Supporting this software that we've all paid for has got to be part of ED's future.
  9. Have you used up all your activations from when FC first came out? If not, there shouldn't be a reason to buy it again.
  10. Looks great, Kon. Can anyone offer any reason to be using Vista right now? 6 months from now? 1 year from now? Maybe improved FSX performance is all I've ever really heard that is an improvement over XP. But I've heard a lot of people say how Vista is a resource hog.
  11. If it is not already, 1.02 is what you want to get patched to. You should not need anything special for Vista unless you go to 1.1 or above and its StarForce protection.
  12. Are you connecting to a server in HL and what is your connection speed? (Not the speed of your aDSL, the in-game connection speed, for example 128/128 bit)
  13. Have the maddogged ET's parameters for locking and tracking been discussed? Meaning, max range, max off-boresight? Also, has the susceptibility of the ET to flares been compared to the R-73 suceptibility to flares? They have the same seeker, yes? But what about differences in processing data the seeker provides?
  14. It seems the lost logical that for a visual launch, the seeker would be held at boresight for a relatively considerable amount of time to try and resolve a target where it should be.
  15. Yes, and if you fire at 4-5 degrees off-boresight an ARH missile shouldn't track right off the rail. That's how we tested. Any idea how long it should take the seeker to complete a full 120 degree scan?
  16. Then what is all the talk about maddogged ETs?
  17. That's the same thing. I would assume that a post launch ET seeker does not scan to its gimbals limits searching for heat sources so even if the ET were capable of achieving a lock after launch, it would be heat sources within the FOV of the seeker itself. (2 degrees?) Has anyone tested how far off-boresight the LOMAC ET will lock a heat source? S77th-Dante and I did some testing of the 120 after the 1.11 patch and the FOV seemed like it was not too wide laterally but did pick up a target that was either above or below the 6 degree seeker. Perhaps it should be re-tested too.
  18. Of course you are entitled to your opinion but I could not disagree more. At least with the "worst problem" part. I really don't think the active missiles, even if they are aquiring outside of parameters, are hitting enough to really be a problem. The ET might be the missile to give your argument merit. But if the 77, 120, ER missiles were as dangerous as they should be, the ET wouldn't stand out so much. That is NOT to say that the ET doesn't need to be fixed.
  19. You can put your picture in there too.
  20. Carl, that may be the best post I've ever seen you make. S!
  21. And, of course, they've sold numerous add-ons and repackages during that time to finance it.
  22. Pssst.... Try the "Before 2008" option.
  23. I've never seen anyone attempting to "sling crap at ED". If you've got some examples, feel free to point them out in PM.
  24. Summary statistic of the OLS In air combat complex allows: detect not-afterburning target on the 45km range and more; identify this target on 8-10km range; estimate aerial target range up to 15 km.For the ground targets complex allows: tank effective detection range up to 15 km, aircraft carrier - 60-80 km; identify the tank type on the 8-10 km, aircraft carrier type - 40-60 km; estimate ground target range up to 20 km.While of the defensive system, a complex consist of radio electronic reconnaissance, electronic counter measures and optronic systems, notable the laser emission detector on each wing tip are able to detect and evaluate the approaching danger and incorporate decoy dispensers to counteract the approaching target in the radar and infrared ranges. It says so on Wiki, so it's got to be true. :smilewink: Think about it... ...it can't discern range until 15k. That's a bit close.
  25. :megalol: Another A-10 doubter. You're talking about THE best CAS aircraft that ever flew. Did you ever consider that for its role, flying at a lower airspeed is actually a benefit? Would an F-16 loiter, identify friend from foe on a hot battlefield and then anihilate the bad guys? The survivablility of the Hog in close support is unparalleled.
