  1. Honestly, I am loving this campaign. Simple shoot'em ups are so boring. I love how this campaign challenges you to refuel, use the TGP and operate more like an actual pilot who takes a variety of missions, including even just ferrying an FA-18 to a hot zone on the other side of the world.
  2. I forgot about the way ED changed the way comms worked. The R CTRL \ and R ALT \ resolved it. Not a bug. My bad.
  3. I am using realistic radio. What are the commands for using the radio? In mission Mixing It Up With the Locals, no matter how often I try to radio in the number of subs the menu won't come up. Same happened, as noted, with previous missions when trying to radio the tanker or the carrier ATC. No response to radio at all. The brief before the mission says all the necessary information is on the kneeboard, but I don't see any additional information. There are no other radio channels noted there, and no notes on various comm keyboard controls. Is there a text or pdf file somewhere that shows special keys to use the radios? Also, in Mixing It Up With the Locals, the tips say go to waypoints 4 through 7 as it is trigger based, by the coordinates given to look for the subs are far from those waypoints. Anyway, I flew the waypoints and went to the coordinates, too--and still no radio option comes up. Also, when I completed Mixing It Up With the Locals, I get a message that says I failed the mission. However, upon closing the mission it says I succeeded. It's hard to know what to make of it. ATC, along with refuellers, do not respond. But since the latest update, the lighting is off and and other random bugs are occurring. Maybe the comms issue is a bug related to the latest update.
  4. No, I quit using Vaicom since it seemed to go belly up awhile back.
  5. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I cannot make radio comms work. No matter how much I hit radio comms, the comms menu simply won't activate. Ergo, can't refuel in mission 1 and can't call in the number of sinkers in mission 3.
  6. Thanks! Yes, I removed it already. Couldn't use DCS at all with it installed. I can once again use Voice Attack but only basic commands, i.e., "F1" "F2" or "Attack ground target". I am going to miss Vaicom. Was awesome when it was working. A nightmare in between.
  7. I haven't been able to get on the forum in a while. Hurricane Fiona destroyed half our home and I only just recently managed to get my computer set back up. But when I did, DCS updated and now Vaicom totally doesn't work. It's always needed a little babying after an update but now it asks over and over to re-update and won't start in game. I've emailed Vaicom support but haven't heard back yet. Is anyone else having trouble with Vaicom. I love the potential of Vaicom, and it is incredible when it works right, but it is so frustrating so much of the time and needs maintenance enough I'm about ready to give up on it. DCS makers--please resolve the in-game menu driven communication system so that it has a regular, predictable set of options. If it had regular, predictable options, HCS would probably support it. I've used HCS for years with Elite: Dangerous and it works so smoothly. Never had the slightest glitch with HCS products.
  8. Unfortunately, it only orients for center grip. If it rotated clockwise by 6 degrees also, it would work for an off right placement.
  9. Hmm, as with some of the other odd bugs I've experienced lately, a couple days later it seemed to resolve itself. Couldn't say why.
  10. Mission 5: Air to Air training--After the first engagement of 2v2, when the message to press SPACE BAR comes up to advance to the next engagements, if you press the SPACE BAR the mission quits and notes a fail. Because of this, there is no way to finish this mission.
  11. I have just setup a Modern Combat Pro Grip on a Gunfighter III base on a Stronghold mount. Is it possible to offset the grip a few degrees for a more ergonomic position? If so, how?
  12. I had not. I had started it and had the effect. Oddly, I tried again the next day and the effect was gone.
  13. Since today's patch (March 30, 2022), setting out on mission 4 (a night mission), the F-16 stays illuminated as if it is under the street lights at Nellis for the whole flight. It's very difficult to see out the cockpit because of all the light.
  14. I don't know how, but it seems to have resolved itself.
  15. Just stick with those carrier landings. They really are much easier than refueling. Just have to practice landing on a postage stamp.
  16. Flying the F-16. Radio comms will not work since today's patch (March 30, 2022). I can hear comms but can't make any outgoing comms to AWACS, my flight or anything else.
  17. I just picked this up today, as it was on sale and I had about $8 in ED miles points. I think it'll be a fun new perspective on sim play.
  18. I've been upgrading my gear since starting my flight sim YouTube channel, and so I have some used items for sale. All are used but in great shape. In fact, the rudder pedals have seen very little use as shortly after I bought them I was able to acquire a new set of TPR pedals for below the wholesale cost. I reside in east Canada, but if you're in the area and in the market, let me know.
  19. A friend suggested I delete the metashaders and FXO folders and clear the windows Direct X shaders. That did the trick.
  20. I'll see if I can capture that, but I'm using a double wide screen and the number shows up way to the side of what the screen capture app captures.
  21. Hey, folks! Just wondering your thoughts on if I should go with the 100mm or 200mm extension.
  22. Anyone else getting choppy video with the Apache? I only get it with the Apache.
  23. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a technical issue, but whenever I try to record a track file flying the FA-18, it records only 30 seconds then ends. Any tips?
  24. I'm not using an extension. Because of my arm injury, I really need the stick mounted to my right, F-16 style, but even connected directly to the Gunfighter base, it works fine for AA refueling. Smooth as silk. I am using the lightest springs. The only thing that is taking some getting used to is the light springs, but that's mainly just because I am so used to the heavy force required to move my previous Warthog stick. I imagine in a few more weeks, the VKB stick will feel completely natural.
  25. Actually, they are all within just a few dollars of cost of each other anymore. The Stronghold certainly looks the stablest, and the standard set comes with additional braces for a keyboard and tablet or Cougars, which is nice. Tough choice lol
