im just wondering how custom controls will be handled with the new upcoming merge? i have setup some planes in 1.5 only and other in 2.0 only so i got different setups between the versions. will 2.5 be installed with "default" controls for all aircraft or how will it work? do i need to save/export my keybinds/curves before the update and then import them as usual? will the 2.5 update delete all old versions?

the mouse works in menus just fine and i can see the little yellow "plus" cursor as usual but it dosent switch anytning. no buttons, nor dials work no matter how much i click. i also tried to click just about everywhere to see if its just off mark but nothing. the cursor wont change to that "upp down" arrow symbol either when placed on top of a swich or rotary.. it worked fine last week so must be something the update did. i tried the alt+c and the cursor disappeared and came back but still no functionallity.. ive tried A10C and the M2000 and same problem for both modules. in 2.1.1 the cursor works just fine so most likely not some hardware problem. i cant seem to find any earlier post on this so i fear its just me? or am i just blind...:music_whistling:

How can I remove the shadow of the tree?
Cradle replied to Vitormouraa's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
i think ED should consider to make a option to turn on/off tree shadows in the game directly since its seems to be such a FPS booster... -
no chance this will get looked at? the SAI gets completely out of any kind of balance very fast. sometimes all it takes is some simple maneuvering right after take off and the SAI is tilted over 45 degrees.. thats hardly coz of gyro drift? i can understand if it gets out of synch after prolonged flight with hard turns and what not.. but not after a couple of minutes.. and besides being a useless instrument it looks really bad :/

this is still a problem for me. i recently added Nevada and started using 2.0 for the first time and the night is pitch dark there but still very bright in 1.5 (as in you can see stuff without NVG in the middle of winter with no moon etc.. even inside a closed unlit hangar you see details). so apparently this is NOT a monitor issue. it might very well be hardware related since 1.5 and 2.0 uses different graphic engines but its only in dcs 1.5 i have this problem. not in any other game, including low budget indie games... its still playable but its "not fun nor realistic" :/

Love the Black shark but is it worth getting the Gazzel?
Cradle replied to Wolf8312's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
i say -get all modules you even remotely think you will spend time with and enjoy. if you can afford it that is. not all here are 40+ upper middle class persons without kids and a ”fairly” large recriation cash stack and tons of time. i mean its on sale right now and for 30 bucks i get a decent dinner and a beer on a local bar here.. and all that gives in the ”long run” is a good belch ;) im getting the gazelle just coz it has good downward view and i want to go check for ufo-s at area 51 later tonight ;) -
im new to the Mirage. i got it a couple of days before the last update and only had time to fly it very basically in the previous version of dcs. still i directely had the feeling the plane had lost some Power in a wierd way after the update. as a new plane owner i had been buzzing around the hills and cities and making a couple of landings and doing the training missions just to get the feel of the controlls etc. Before the update i landed with no problem for example.. after the update its damn near impossible and that loss of Power at high AoA at low speed seems directely linked to my constant failures (and that forward noosewheel "spring" bug too ofc -but thats Another matter) as the plane has a tendency to drop like a stone during the latter stadges of the approach and need full AP to not crash (im still learing the landing but this is Before/after patch im talking about). i also feel that the A10C have lost some Power after the update and that is my "main" plane and i have flewn it a lot last months. it just feels like dcs world has changed someting with drag/weight etc.. that wierd Rolling in AP while in a orbit you get might also be related to some kind of AoA loss of speed? i would very much like to get more comments on what ppl "feel" and less technical pointers. just get in the planes and do what ever you did Before the update and see if it feels different.

Im not sure about this but it feels like some generall tweak has lowered the power of the engines? I got the mirage and a10c and playeed them both a day before the last update and both of them seems affected. The a10 barealy gets of the ground in some cases and where i used to just take off and almost at once start my turn tiwards Target i now need to jeeo almost level a long time to build up speed over 200 knt. The mirage is ofc much faster but feels to bleed power in middle/high g turns to the point of stalling really fast. I played against a ai F5 that i never ever could shake from my six no matter what and when i tried climbing straight up i lost power but the F5 zipped past with plenty to spare. Im new to a-a but it "feels" wrong. Is this how real planes perform or ?

[REPORTED]/[MERGED] Roll Oscillation w/ AP Alt Hold - 1.5.6.3690.269
Cradle replied to Scotch75's topic in Bugs and Problems
same here. the A10 rolls like crazy after just a couple of seconds in AP. i also imagine that the plane is less powerful than before? can that be right? i just picked up the mirage mod this weekend (before i installed the new update) and it feels like it bleeds of energy in a different way now in sharp turns/climbs after i updated..but i might be wrong and just finding all sorts of "new" update related behavior issues when its actually just me thats a bad pilot ;) -
How to map on off function to just one button?
Cradle replied to Wolf8312's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
i totally agree with Wolf that i want to be able to do this -simple as pie- within the DCS setup itself. the brain work needed just to learn all the systems in the aircrafts is enough for me without having to hassle with editing program scripts just to set a simple switch position. i really dont have that kind of understanding and most likely would mess something up in the process :( if the game dont recognise "neutral" as a switch position perhaps it can be implemented as some sort of option for "if not UP or DOWN then it must be in the middle" sort of command in the setup? much like that ELSE i read about in the scripting tutorials? -
i flew "surrounded" last night and got three crashes when dropping CBU-105s (the game NEVER crashes otherwise) so i started searching here and found this, but this seems to be a year old thread? if its a known bug it should have been fixed by now? is it just in that in that mission/on some ppls systems that cause it or is it the bombs visual effects itself that is the cause of the crashes? i don´t recall having dropped 105s before so i cant tell unless testing in another mission. if i avoid tracking the explosion with the TGP will i be able to use the bombs then?

I found a couple of threads on this but no real info/solution. :/ i too have a really REALLY bright nigh in dcs a10. i mean so bright i dont need cockpit lightning to see dials and switches and you can se the ground and roads and trees.. ive set the date to 15 of jan around 2 oclock so it should really be pitch black outside. some ppl suggest to adjust gamma/brightness on the monitor but that cant be the right way to go (still i tried it. i set brightness to 0% and gamma to 2,6 and everything was dark and dull in menues and stuff but still bright at night)? the game looks great in every other aspect. menus, cockpit during daylight..the environment, explosions. and things that are supposed to be black are black. the MFDs in menu modes etc are perfect deep black. if i would have a faulty monitor setting this would look blended and grayis. and every other game i play on the same system looks good..dark is really dark and colors vivid. its only in dcs that night wont get dark. i remember flying ka50 "courier" mission a couple of years back and that was as dark as a night should be.. i will try to run that mission tonight just to check if a10 differs from ka50 (but i suspect its dsc world thats the problem). the thing that i find most strange is that some ppl seem to have pitch black nights and some (like me) has really bright nights.. is it a graphic card issue or just random luck with settings? (i also tried to let nvidia dictate the colors/brightness but dcs was still bright at night with little or no difference) dcs world should really implement some kind of brightness adjustement settings within the game and have some calibration mode.

Was long since i wrote here but i check the threads almost everyday.. but i havent played the game that much. I sort of learned the basics and did some missions but then i didnt find the time or energy to play as hard core as the game demands.. but i played yesterday and for the love of me i couldnt get the track following autopilot to function.. i engaged it and the bird woud do just about everything else BUT follow the course..i tried everything.. but at the end found my self in a "swing like" motion over a nearby town..back and forth.. back and forth... back and forth... made me seasick. i even tried different missions to se if it was some "indended" faiure in that mission.. then i struck me. i had been pressing the "T" button and not the "R" button. i had trimmed and trimmed and trimmed..and NOT engaged the autopilot at all! that was happen when you dont play enough. ;)

Hi i have posted this on TrackIr own forum since im sertain this is a trackir problem and not a dsc:bs issue, but ppl here seem to response a million times faster so i post it here aswell just for kicks :) the "problem" is that i think its hard to do very small and smooth adjustments to the view when looking straight forward since i have to "snap" the head slightly to either side to "uncage" the trackir when it has "stabilized" itself in the center view. If i continue to look to either side or up/down the movement is as smooth as i want it but most of the time i look pretty straight ahead and center. I have tried to find a way to disable this but i havent found anything. It has nothing to do with dead zone or movement speed or anything since the trackir follows as a charm when its allready moving. I dont know if its some kind of "stand by" mode or such but all lights are on and when i pan the view slowly straight ahead i feel that the view "wants" to pull itself to the center... like a magnet or something. If i dont move my head for a long time the trackir seems to shut down momentaraly but this is not the same thing. I hope i have managed to describe the problem and that there is a way round it.. merry christmas btw
