Bittorent works fine for me! DL speed 1.5 Mbs
-
I don't use any primer! Only spray a lot instead! Front and back is no problem, only sides of MDF is sucking paint like an alcoholic!

Thx Guys! Always nice when some one likes your work.

Luckily I go pretty high up when mounting my new racing seat! A bit to high for racing and flying... And that's because I mounted my puter underneath the seat! Before I used the famous IKEA office chair!!! (everybody has one as flight seat :megalol:) I was lower then now. And that was not fun for my hands! The computer frame, made of square aluminum 19 mm built like a box to accommodate my puter, is 26 cm high, and the seats mounting adds 8 cm! Best thing is that I can move the seat front and back without moving frame :D So when I mount the stick, I pull the seat forward like a car-seat until the stick is on the seat, then I lock the stick in place above the seat. So it is between my fat legs in a good place. And back when I want to leave the seat without moving the stick. Damn thing is that the stick is to high to go under the table, so I have to sit back a bit to much from my monitors., but I think I will saw a half round hole in the desk  so I can move forward a bit! Gone make the hole mountable with the piece I cut out so I can use my hands on the desk when I don't fly. Only crap with having the computer under you behind, is that it geting a bit hot there  BTW Flying, brydling?! Whats that? I only build :book: Shame to say, I haven't done any flying sins I got my new seat  I am still trying to build the radio panels, only the rotating switches and regular switches so far. I always get shoot down when I try killing enemy's :dunno: I am not so good yet.... Hate to lose!!!

Well at first I was not sure if I want to share my home built cheap pit. But I cant let you be without it :) I started building the consoles provide by Dimebug. First Left side, made with MDF, with a few panels, made from scrap 6mm wood panels I got at home. Made 2 layers for getting right the height to the Throttle. Then I printed out a overlay and laminated it and punched hole in it for switches. Then I thought that I should make so many switches that I don't need the keyboard to start up the A-10, so I continued to build on right side panels by panels, no rush here! cant afford to do it to fast.... Then I started to use MDF as panels to. But still I was not satisfied, after reading how some ppl make there panels I now days use 4mm acrylic as top and 6mm MDF as bottom. And I think this is the best solution I can use for now. So fa I havent done much flying  only building. I started out buying GP-Wiz40 USB interface, first one, then I buy two more, then I realize that it wont be enough with 3! Then I found out about brydlings interface and got me 1:) It is mounted in right console and the GP-Wiz is in left for now. I gone buy 1 more from brydling when he fixes so it can handle encoders. So far so good. I will NOT build the whole front of the pit, only the MFCD and UFC and some switches underneath, I don't have the space to do it, because I use my computer to racing to and other games, so I need my desktop for that... I use 3 monitors, 1, 27" and 2, 19" and I use TrackIr. I will buy the THRUSTMASTER MFD Cougar Pack later and try fitting LCD behind. I made UFC by my own :joystick: It works, but its not as fancy as some makes them :music_whistling: I use switches of medium size and small size, toggle is about 17mm on medium and 10mm on small. Cant afford real thing.... So if you have any questions, ask me! BTW! I have my computer under the seat!! Feels nice and warm......

Go for as many as possible :) I gone use em all!! And step on it u lazy swede :) Regards DrStrix... (I gone need another board in the new year)
-
Nope, still waiting to connect diods.... and figure out how to put em in a good spot.
-
Got mine from brydling! Excellent work on board! (Except my own soldering....) And good support from brydling to my many stupid questions.
-
Nice panels! And good luck with flying lessons!
-
OMG..... Good work!
-
Dont forget that pilots aren't very big/tall!
-
You should think of how many switches you will have! Make sure that you can buy enough interface/ports! I did end up to short! I use GP-Wiz40, and I have 3 of them, but need more.... So now I buy a interface from brydling to cover my needs. Its all down to how many switches/leds/rotary you need. DrStrix

If you don't update win 7 and mainboard for a long time, it is probably the main problem. I think you have to look for HID drivers or USB drivers. I use Microsoft USB/HID driver 6.1.7601.17514 Is it and old mainboard? Good luck Strix

Hi! No problems with my Win 7/64bits! It loads the drivers and it works fine. I have not installed any other drivers, so I am not sure what your problem is... Do you update win7 anything?

Matrix=board connector? (flat-cable in this case?) Break up matrix=divide flat-cable to more then 1 panel?
-
I do use only 1 common from my interface to my inputs! I split it apart when it is close to the inputs using a connector with 5 connections and then I twist the gnd together in pair of 4-5 gnd in every port! I use very thin cables!! So I have to twist them together or the will pop out from connector, it is self-locking!
-
If u need interface with many connections, look at this! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=80201
-
U pulling my leg??? Or did I for once be smarter then u..:megalol:
-
But I use ON/ON with only 1 input, that's no problem... It has 3 connections, but u only use 2 of them. 1 for gnd and 1 for input! And gnd is the middle 1....

Thx for video! I have filled up 3 GP-Wiz40 with switches!!! And I only connected those switches I think would be nice to have in flight! I haven't use Helois yet, I use the lua files created by A10 for my interface! And I am out of interface to my UFC!! Have to buy another 1 for that! OMG.... its a expensive hobby....
-
Great! Then I can assume that you will make a video to me so I can learn to :helpsmilie: I did loooka at the post you refer to, but I don't understand anything how to do it, and what I need to do it....

Nice work Ragtop! I started on my right side now. Did build the frame in 1 hours! Made it 10cm shorter! Due to lack of space. So its not as well build as yours... But it holds together... I installed the ELEC PWR panel on it so far. Gone mount switches on AIR and LIGHT panels to. And now I try to build a UFC! OMG... I noticed that u made a big space between AIR and ELEC panel and same on left side betwen THROTTLE and FUEL panels to! Is it your own idea?

How To - Assigning toggle switches to DCS using Helios.
Strix replied to Ragtop's topic in Home Cockpits
Pardon my crappy English :D heheheh.... Now for the tricky question! How do you config rotary switches and pots in Helios? :helpsmilie: I got it now with switches, but I need rotary and pots to.... I am to old to learn by my self :book: Was the sound a bit off in video? Or is it my age? Greetings from Sweden!
