Paging Nick...restored A6M Zero available
DD_fruitbat replied to Rougaroux's topic in Pacific Theatre
Hmmm, I'm doubtful of that. For a start our Anton is the dog of the Anton family, the A8 is the fat overweight version of the 190 family when the focus had moved away from being a pure fighter. In a sim I'd rather be in a A3 or A4 than a A8 where things like armour are less relevant! The Hellcats turn performance is very different. If anything the Corsair was probably more similar in that respect to the 190 than the Hellcat irl, although still quite different. -

Paging Nick...restored A6M Zero available
DD_fruitbat replied to Rougaroux's topic in Pacific Theatre
Since most people won't have the discipline to fly the Hellcat and particularly the Corsair to use those planes advantages over the Zero, the Zero is going to spank a lot of blue DCS flyers and the forums will be littered by the whining.... Also, depending on what model of Zero, and yes their are many variants, its performance isn't underwhelming. -
Two weeks joke goes back to the original il2 and oleg maddox.....

News On Release Of Updated Ground Troops Please
DD_fruitbat replied to DD_Friar's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Horses for course, whenever I read posts like this I feel so grateful that I only play DCS with other people, because I find flying single player and not working together with other people completely boring..... -
If you thought that full fidelity planes were 100% realistic before this announcement, then I've got some bad news for you.... DCS is the best game there is at simulating these planes, closer to reality than anything else out there (by some margin), but its no where close to 100% reality. There's still loads that they can't put in 100% accurately even if they had every bit of information because of things like jail. Nothing has changed with the announcement of fat amy.

My god, so many whingers in here. Really looking forward to the F-15C, both that and Fat Amy really were a surprise, didn't see either coming, especially the latter. -

The TGP will automatically slave to the location of the emitter selected by the HAD once they go active. The better the PGM quality the closer to the exact location. A PGM of 1 it will be almost right on top of it, with PGM 2 it will be close enough that you can find it pretty easily. I made this vid ages ago showing this, of course they have to be active for this to work. As far as I know, if the emitter is not active the HAD will be of no use finding the SAM.

If we're going to go for wild speculation, I just drove past a static Jaguar, Buccaneer and E.E Lightning not 30 minutes ago (Manston Airfield). Coincidence, I think not......... -

As I said, each to their own. I haven't flown on it for years, probably since Syria came out, and even if it had an update wouldn't go back to it with the maps we have available now.
