  1. Thanks Crash, we appreciate your support!
  2. "Yeehaw, back to working on weapons & sensors Pictured: Targeting with the velocity vector" "So for you guys wondering the A7 has a few different targeting options: 1. NORM ATTACK mode - Visual aiming on the HUD via the velocity vector (shown above) or by slewing the aiming cursor and designating. Leads to a CCRP drop. Allows for precise targeting during ingress with only a visual 2. BOC (Bomb on Coordinates) mode - as it sounds; leads to CCRP drop 3. CCIP 4. Radar bombing - similar to norm attack, but targeting with the AG Radar All modes except CCIP can also be used in offset mode. Offset mode is used when the target is obscured or more easily located by reference a nearby landmark; it will aim weapons at a chosen offset from the current target. The large amount of targeting options, when combined with the various release parameters (salvo modes, interval drops etc) gives the pilot a a great arsenal to deal with almost anything on the ground. You have limited guided weapon options though, so being a successful A7 pilot will depend largely on mission planning & pilot skill" - A post from @MikeNolan on our Discord channel.
  3. @AG-51_RazorYou never fail to make me cackle! I don't have much for you at the moment unfortunately guys, it's been a bit of a slow month+ thanks to Covid, and I've been working on the less exciting parts (optimization, animating, fixing inaccuracies and missing parts). Once the animations are done, I can unwrap the UVs, bake the high poly to the low poly, then texture the cockpit. That being said, here is a pretty render to keep you guys going a little longer
  4. Hi all! Just a small update - the cockpit 3D model is pretty much complete, and we will begin animating this week! Cheers
  5. Don't worry, I am alive and well - thanks for your concern As mentioned above, we have an amazing artist who will be taking over the modelling of the A-7E soon. He has done some incredible work on the F6F (MSFS) for us, and he is insanely fast so expect to see some beautiful shots over the coming weeks & months. I will still be working on the A-7E, but primarily as the texture artist. Dan, our programmer, has been making some fantastic progress on the systems & avionics. I'm sure he will be doing a detailed writeup on the progress in the next few weeks, but he shared this screenshot on discord: "Hands up if you've played enough DCS to recognize this location from the radar image alone " Regarding the maverick screen - I believe the radar screen was used, but I'll have to double check with our SME's on that one
  6. A few more screenshots. I'll beat you to it and say no info on avionics or HUD Ikarus
  7. Stay strong brother, we can get through this together! I believe Dan will be coding some avionics very soon. As mentioned above, the Flight Model is really starting to take shape!
  8. Yeah, we are just holding off until we are mostly finished, then we will make a sub-forum Here's a few WIP texture shots...
  9. Yep, avionics coding has already commenced
  10. Here's a shot of the vertical stab so far... As always the model and textures are very much a WIP. Decals are just placeholders until I can find/make better ones. Cheers, Alex
  11. Hey guys, We are currently looking for SMEs to join our private Discord channel. If you have worked directly, or indirectly with the A-7, please join our Discord and send me (Alex) a PM. I'm also hoping to post some more WIP images soon Cheers, Alex -Edit- You know what, I'll share one now
  12. We have not decided yet but it's unlikely we will be creating the D model. Whilst the D and E share a lot of similarities, it would require pretty much remodelling the entire cockpit and a good chunk of the exterior model, then coding all the different systems and changes in FM. A simple matter of easier said than done But again, it's not something we have decided yet. I've been working on an almost complete overhaul on the cockpit these last couple of weeks. Here is a pic of the progress so far.
  13. Thanks for the feedback guys. Here's a WIP of the Radar Beacon panel for y'all
  14. DCS A-7E Update! Today we'd also like to ask for your thoughts and feedback: In what condition do you prefer to see the cockpit in DCS? Dirty, worn and aged? Immaculate, fresh from the factory? Or somewhere in between? https://flyingironsimulations.com/blogs/news/dcs-a-7e-development-update-2021
  15. Hey guys, We hope everyone had a great holiday break and a happy New Year! It aint much, but it should keep you going a little longer... WIP tail hook assembly.
  16. I am encountering a lot of normal issues when exporting with a 100:1 scale using the latest build & Max 2020. 100:1- 1:1-
  17. I've got just the thing... Trying out a new texturing technique. I think it works pretty well
  18. Hey guys, A small update on the art - spent many days fixing bugs that corrupted a lot of meshes, I've added some more panels, started working on the refueling probe & added more details across the board. Now to go in and redo many of the rivets... In regards to the forum section, I have spoken to ED and we agreed that it would be better to wait a while longer until we are further into development before we have a section. Please feel free to join our discord channel (link in my bio) - we have a great community and we are very active within it. Cheers, Alex
  19. Work continues... You may notice less screws and rivets in these pics - I'm just slowly replacing them with more optimized versions (they're tiny, they don't need a lot of polys!).
  20. Some more panelling :) Do you guys enjoy these mini WIP updates, or would you guys prefer to see larger but less frequent updates (this is specifically talking about art). Would love to hear what you guys think!
