  1. I am asking about the Su-27 / Su-33. Stupid me, forgot too mention this.
  2. Aeyes, http://www.fabulousfulcrums.de/index_e.html You may find this link helpful, since the cockpit shown is in English.
  3. I only found the A2G - A2A (воздух-земля) toggle on the weapons control panel. But what A2A mode is it suppose to go to when toggle? I am looking for swtiches on the helmet mode, BVR scan mode (and the coressponding submode), Vertical scan mode, missile bore mode, radar bore mode.
  4. Thanks Swing Kid and Tracker, useful links.
  5. Excellent thread. I've been scratching my head in the past few days, trying to find a good source of the Su-27 cocpit photos, and also their translation. It's a much harder job than I thought. I've borrowed a book called "Su-27 Sukhoi Superfighter flanker", by Lake, Jon. It contains a few photos of the cockpit, and the letters on them are barely readable. Aeyes, if you are interested, I can send you some of the photos that I scanned, but they are about 10MB per shot. Though I guess you have a better source with such kind of information, would you be able to share it?
  6. What event was that? And can someone tell me how to make that display setup, can we extend it to a 360 degrees view?
  7. To hijack this thread.....how about Su-27, can they drop bombs in 1.1? If you check its weapon control panel, it does have some swiches related to dropping bombs. Is it made useless like the F-15C?
  8. While I was doing my research on the cockpits, I found that many buttons in the cockpit are not modelled ingame. Like the left panel that mainly controls the radio, and nav etc.., and also the buttons in the weapons panel are also not modelled. Do you think I should keep doing this, and hope that in the future there will be a very detailed flanker sim, so I can make the cockpit useful? (And why is this forum only allowing 2 pages...)
  9. a few Updates http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/OmegaOska/gearcopy.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/OmegaOska/Trimcopy.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/OmegaOska/Weaponspanelcopy.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/OmegaOska/hud.jpg These are my best guess, blame me if I was wrong.... Near the gear handle: 1. "cooling" : cooling of the R-73 seeker head 2. "near-auto-far" : dunno 3. "?? Helmet mounted sight" : dunno 4. "type target" : dunno 5. "amplify ??" : dunno Near the trim lights: 1. "trim ??" : what is PH? rudder trim? 2. "visual correction" : hm....the strangest translation I found..... Weapons control panel 1. "release" : jettsion gunpods 2. "cuttoff" : set gun burst, shift-c in v1.1 3. "unguided launch" : dunno 4. "series" : related to salvo mode, ripple interval (v, shift-v in v1.1) 5."main engine start" : sort of like car-key, guess can model it with engine start 6. "LA auto-override" : launch permission (alt-w) 7. "Air - ground" : dunno 8. "emergency canopy jettsion" : not modelled I think, but may programmed to "ctrl + c" ( actually I suspect this is to jettsion weapons) 9."emergency gear lowering" : not modelled, but may program to "ctrl+g" 10. "TOPM" and "B3PblB" : dunno, no idea at all 11. for those buttons related to gunpods, I think is only useful for Su-25T Under the HUD: 1. "Brightness" : HUD display brightness (ctrl+h) 2. "setka" : grid mode (8) 3. "day", "night" : no idea
  10. Oh, I include the Su's and the Mig because these are made for Russian pilots, so they can compare their own plane to the NATO ones. And here is the one made for Russian-Russian Comparison http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/OmegaOska/nato-A2G.jpg There are less fighters on the Russian side in LOMAC.
  11. http://www.lockon.ru/img/technology/pic1_17.jpg Check out this pic in http://www.lockon.ru, it's in English!!
  12. Thanks for the contribution guys, but where do you people get the knowledge of Russians. And Dmut, thanks for the advice, I will give that a try. I hope this thread can inspire some experienced pit builder to start working. Since I am not sure how far I can progress with my limited skill and resources. BTW, what is meant by the DAY and NIGHT switches under the HUD? Cockpit lights? And the toggle that I marked AIR, the other side of the switch is "Ground". So I suppose it's a master switch that you toggle when you take off from the ground.
  13. http://users.skynet.be/bs999158/LomacDownload.htm These are not real charts, but are good enough for the game.
  14. Who knows? I just translated them in Babel Fish. This was how I did it, went to http://www.lockon.ru, looked for the cyrillic letters, copy and paste them to Babel Fish...it was a pain in the axx.
  15. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/OmegaOska/natofighters.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/OmegaOska/nato-A2G.jpg These are some diagrams that I made for myself.
  16. I am doing this becase I want to make the Su-27 pit, so I have to know what exactly those switches and knobs do.. But I found this job nealy impossible, information is very limited, and I know squad about Russians. I really hope some of you nice guys could contribute a cockpit bluprint and functional details.
  17. Though I am not going to make some large pits, I would like to make a panel with a few buttons and knobs on it (particularly for the Su-27), and maybe a two dials, one for the altimeter and one for the speed. I know many people out there made F-16 pits for Falcon4. With the growing universe of LOMAC and ED, I certainly hope there will be pit builders for the Russian birds, and maybe the developer can help in giving us a translated cockpit......
  18. In v1.02, in view.lua or view.cfg (forget which one), you can tweak the value of max head movement so you can rotate you head 180 degrees like crazy. But I can't find that script in the v1.1 demo.
  19. In v1.1, we have the "RWin + I" combination to change radar mode. But my keyboard only has the LWin key, so I reassign the keu in game to "LWin+I". But I cannot program my X-52 to produce any response. Example: I succesfully assigned the "Left Window" key to the fire C button, but pressing the fire C button doesn't give me anything. I have asked this in the Saitek forum too: http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=6975
  20. Anyone know what makes thoes evenly spaced rings in the afterburner flame?
  21. Hmm....why would you use the belly of the planes instead of theire tops? NI think maybe it's not a good idea to actually place the lowest point of every plane on the same line. Take the Su-27 as an example, although it's long, but actually some of the length comes from the tail cone, but when you are fighting it, what matters is (I think) the size counting from the engine nozzle. So to make a practical comparison, maybe we should place them together with a suitable offset. (my poor English, hope you understand)
  22. Thanks for all the info guys. Right now I am searching for reliable information on their length. Like I asked before, I am not sure how they measure the length. Like in the F-16, its tail fin extends a little bit beyond the nozzle, I am not sure if the length include that part. And most of them have an antenna extended on their radar, I don't know if they are counted.
  23. Do the lenght that I found on the web include the atenna length? e.g. Su-27, Length=21.94m
  24. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/OmegaOska/Chart1.jpg What do you guys think about this? I am going to include more planes. I put the Su-27 and Su-33 at the first place because they have the same size, and are the planes that I fly most, so that I can easily compare its relative size. But my problem now is how should I group them? Maybe US, Russian and europe, each on one sheet. Then subdivide them into fighters, assault planes, AWACS, transport etc...? I want to do this, but my knowledge on their properties is very limited. My sources are from this site http://www.airwar.ru/other/drawe.html
  25. I am making a diagram which contains scale drawing of different jets side by side, so you can immediately compare their sizes, it can also be used as an aircraft recognition manual to a certain extent. I think it is very important to have a sense about the enemies's sizes when in a dogfight, it can, to some extent, tells you how much fuel it can carry, what's the optimum gun range etc.. So back to the point, does anyone know a good web source of such drawings? I don't need the site to have the exact dimensions provided, I can find these data elsewhere and rescale the pictures.
