  1. Is this saying I can run modern games on my P.O.S. computer? For cheaper than I'm currently paying for GameFly? With no waiting for the next game to arrive in the mail? I'm very, very interested in this... EDIT: But it looks like you have to pay to buy or rent games, on top of the monthly fee. What's that about? Most programs like this have either a monthly fee OR pay to play, not both.
  2. "Glorification of war"? That was the OPPOSITE point of the movie! The evil humans slaughtering the poor, innocent, tree-hugging Na'vi? Doesn't sound like any glorification at all.
  3. Agreed. I learned how to fly simply by watching the training videos, along with plenty of notes (mainly checklists of complex sequences). Everyone should be lucky that the game actually came with any sort of instructions at all. A lot of older flight sims I've played have no sort of tutorials at all.
  4. I chose "Fixed wind utility/transport" just to shake it up a bit. Yeah, fighting is cool, but sometimes it's fun to relax and leave the fighting to your escorts. I can just imagine making low-level air drops, firing a $h*t load of flares, and trying out the "Operation Credible Sport" version of the C-130
  5. You have to guess the planes first, man! It's Namenlos Ein's turn.
  6. :poster_oops: ...must have skipped past it. EDIT: Yep, now I found it. It was posted by you, Topol! lol
  7. IAI Eitan? MANTIS? TIHA? RQ-4 Global Hawk? EDIT: Adding General Atomics Altair. Might as well! My better guesses have already been asked...
  8. Short SB.6 Seamew Convair NB-36 Pemberton Billing (Supermarine) Nighthawk Percival P.74 Barling XNBL-1 Better to come... :smilewink:
  9. Yeah, but I'm just guessing. I didn't have a counter or anything, so it might have been more like 10 FPS or so. I can't really afford a new computer just yet, but I have plans for one in the summer. But until then, I'll be running a little slow...
  10. Sorry I was talking very much yesterday, guys. Besides being a little mic shy, I was trying to mess around with my settings to get it to run at a decent pace. I was probably hobbling along at 5 FPS the whole time...
  11. Is the change noticable? Without the counter, I mean? Cause with FPS that high, it's often hard to tell the difference. I only get about 15 FPS, with settings as low as possible. I'm a little jealous, lol.
  12. I'll join you, Chris. Just got Black Shark for Christmas. And I think I finally got everything down! If I can make it, I'll meet you in TS. Hope to see some others in there as well.
  13. My "The World's Worst Aircraft" Book should help me out a bit ;) Blohm und Voss BV 40 Bonney Gull Caproni Ca.60 Noviplano Gloster Meteor (prone pilot experimental) And last but not least, one of the weirdest of all: Goodyear Inflatoplane: From my book: "As well as their famous blimps, the Goodyear Company built military aircraft under licence, such as versions of the Vought Corsair. Of course, what they really wanted to do was builder rubber aeroplanes and they got their chance in the 1950s. The US Army was particularly open to new ideas and sponsored development of the Inflatoplane (sometimes called the Inflatibird). Goodyear claimed it was 'suitable for all types of Army field operations, particularly reconnaissance'. It could be packed into a 1.25 cubic metre (44 cubic foot) container transported by truck, jeep trailer or aircraft. One proposed use was to drop the container behind enemy lines so downed pilots could rescue themselves. Testing of a single- and two-seat version carried on into the 1970s, but no orders were ever forthcoming."
  14. Oh well. I guess I'll just hold it down from now on. Don't want to be lazy!
  15. Thanks, but I've gotten it to work by just pressing the button after moving the controls. At least I think  Can anymore be explained? EDIT: Oh, thanks Panzertard, didn't see your post. But I still experience what I just said. Meaning that I can tilt the cyclic all the way to the side, press the trim button, and it stays there. I didn't have to hold anything down...
  16. The Annoying Devil "Staying Indoors": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuTRbsIax-M The Murder: An Interactive Adventure!: Tramdalf:
  17. So there's a new and old type of trim? When I trim, I change position, heading, etc. and then press the trim button. Am I doing this properly? Or do I need to hold it the whole time? Or does it work both ways depending on what's set in the config file? *Sigh* I love DCS... :smilewink:
  18. Just wanted to thank you guys. I had this problem when I first downloaded, and a careful search brought me here.
  19. ~S~ All! I'm gumball360. You'll normally find me in the skies of IL-2 1946, but I couldn't pass up the most detailed and beautiful flight sim on the market! I also have Lock On, but it bored me enough that I eventually stopped playing. Black Shark hasn't bored me yet. I'm still going through the training missions, but I can already almost start up the heli myself (with the help of a checklist I wrote down). Black Shark even inspired me to invest a little more money into my PC. Just yesterday I ordered two 1 GB Corsair RAM cards to replace the 512 MB card I have now. After this upgrade, my PC will officially meet minimum requirements. Huzzah! Hope to get to know you guys better in the coming weeks.
