  1. Mmm, that's correct. But I feel that there is a bit of confusion between a logo for a company that should be possible to put on both business cards and flags outside the office. For sure EA, Dice etc have logos like that. It does not mean that "Battlefield 4" has it? Just my personal opinion ;)
  2. Update 2013-10-09: Large 300px: Icon 72px: Icon 48px: Icon 32px: And yes - I know there should be no country specific stuff - but you could change the roundel in future addons :) And as an example of what I mean - a quick version of a pacific 1943 version (yes - the "sun" needs more work ;)) And adding some variations for the ones that don't like that roundel... Green: "Blue sky" 300px: 72px: And a quick "simple" version before going to the pub to see Sweden vs Germany :) Even though the Tshirt part is not started I add some anyway :) Military green: Black white:
  3. Yes - I like the simple one by Sithspawn... Maybe a font that is a little less "modern" for the Europe text? Otherwise that will be nice after some polish!
  4. Thanks, popped it right down into my Kindle... Free is always a nice price :)
  5. I like it, but it needs more light and contrast I think?
  6. Nose art for the logo is a great idea, will try something with that...
  7. Mmm, the "dilemma" is that the title is "DCS WWII: Europe 1944" so I guess that has to be the text? I have tried a number of ways to get those roman numerals "in balance" :) I remember doing a "dummy" logo for a medical system we where developing once (fooling around a bit with the title). The marketing people in the states had invested $100k in a professional logo (and T-shirts and mugs etc). And when the AD saw my develoment logo she got furious that the text was not exactly correct and quite a bunch of users where testing the alpha version (which made the branding effort a bit hard naturally, but I had no idea they where going to do a logo for it ;))... And the users liked it better than the $100k logo ;) EDIT - by considering your nick - how about the one with a 109? :)
  8. Lol - I have that game on tape for my Spectrum :)
  9. Me too ;)
  10. Or - as it gets too British... Maybe with a 109? And 64px icon:
  11. And some new attempts... It sure is hard to squeeze all that text in :) Large: 64px icon: Or without spit (clutters in icon):
  12. Nice!
  13. Thanks for the information, and the "sneak peak" of coming titles ;-) I also try to shrink them down to see if they work... But 8x8 feels like there are few logos that can handle. 16x16 is tough enough :-)
  14. Thanks - and sharp spotting from the community again :) Tomorrow...
  15. OK - still not content with my roman literals so this will have to do for tonight ;) And it is a WW2 RAF font for the "WW" by the way :)
  16. Thanks :) I did actually try with the roman "II" first but I did not get that to work... But I agree that it really should be the real "name of the game" that so I will have to try some more. And I had 1944 in the first version too, but it got way to "cluttered" unfortunately :)
  17. He he - some more: * Added a sharper DCS logo * Changed the color of the 2 to match it * Put a white background to not confuse with that! Soon there will be as many as the pledge rewards ;)
  18. He he, sharp eyes noticing that I did a quick change of the outline :) The thing is that the background is really not "part of the logo" that should have transparent background (like the small "icon" version) - so it can be used on different pages etc. But it looks better with something in the background. But the one I did after misunderstanding you with red circle is actually not too bad :) Here are some variations anyway (one with the original black/grey circle, and one with a green tint). And I have for sure also played Axis and Allies too so that may be an unconscious inspiration :)
  19. Thanks! You mean something like this? Or do you talk about the blue background?
  20. So - I open up the logo thread with an attempt that I'm really not that content with myself ;) Too "cluttered" and a bit too much CloD feeling with that orange sight? Don't have more time tonight anyway... But I invite others to join in! Large: "Icon"
  21. Mmm, that's a good "side effect" ;-)
  22. Well, I guess they take the balance from the PayPal account and "pledge it themselves"? If the kickstarter goal is not reached I'm pretty sure they won't get any money otherwise?
  23. I agree. Lets all "sit down in the boat" as we say in Sweden until we hear from Luthier!
  24. Well - I see a small "problem" here as this way gives us more control of our package ;) I have already pledged $110 and then $12 for T-Shirt delivery with a sum of $122. And then I will get the P-51 that I already have. But what I really want is to select my "own package" with D9 + alpha access and nothing more (I'm a digital guy so reading a PDF manual on my Kindle Paperwhite is better anyway). So - if I choose the $100 package with paypal you get less money, and I get more of what I want... And you get to pay the shipping that is "included". So - I'm sorry, but I will drop my pledge from Kickstarter and go this way instead, and I think others may do the same. So don't be disappointed if you see the Kickstarter pledges go down! It really would be better to be able to select and amount to pledge above 120 too... I really just want alpha access and the D9, but maybe want to pledge 150? And it's better you keep the gadgets and the shipping costs for the project ;) EDIT - realized I actually get what I want, alpha + D9 for $80 via PayPal... And as a part of the difference from my $122 pledge goes to a T-Shirt that I don't want an shipping it makes that PayPal option even more juicy.
  25. Even though I think it's a good resume of the golden era of flight sims I can't believe that you actually played the Dynamix series etc with a keyboard/mouse? I am pretty sure the majority of the people in the golden era used joysticks. I remember buying my CH Flightstick in 1990 or so for the original Red Baron - and when 1942/EF2000 came out I don't think that many dedicated sim pilots played them with keyboard? When I was studying at the University in early/mid 90:ies we where a bunch that flew sims (and we where poor students). Not one of us would dream of flying with keyboard. We did not have rudders so that was mapped to keys - accept one guy who had ch pedals. But those where the days ;) But I fully agree that even though it hurts to say it, there has to be support for the ones connecting their Xbox controllers to their PC to use it and get a feel for a real simulator before buying a real setup. And like I said above - I am pretty sure we "need" more fast paced multiplayer "action" modes even in the study sims to get people to give them a chance. Sometimes on Hyperlobby playing IL2 you can feel the pain and potential loss of a "could be community member" when you shoot some poor rookie down 5 times in a row and you then get a "TurboSuperWings has left the game"... And I'm not that good compared to the real "experten" :) Below average I'd say - but when someone who has not played sims for decades get in there it must hurt a lot - especially as they never realize what is the objective etc and just fly around getting shot down. And it's really our loss!
