  1. I tried Explorer and Chrome. Same issue on both. Everything but the Saitek site is working fine. No idea why I'm only having issues. Tried again today after work. Same issue.
  2. Well, on the third DL it's been stuck at 100% for a couple hours. Any other ideas?
  3. It finished, but says it's a corrupted DL. I'll try again I guess.
  4. Well, trying again. Only at 100kB/s. Better but still 15-20 times slower than it should be.
  5. I'm getting my sim rig back up and running. Need to download the SST software and am having issues with the Saitek site. It's really slow, the site it's self, and the download has some issues. First it's only pulling down at an appalling 70kB/s and never finishes. Says it's at 100% but never actually completes after sitting for an extra hour. I've tried three times and the exact same thing each time. A google search got me no where. Any one have any idea where I could find it being hosted? Need Win7 64 version. Thanks in advance.
  6. FYI, two 560's in SLI is still only 1GB memory. All the info is put on both cards. So the memory is not shared at all. Unless you have a multiscreen setup with each screen supporting resolutions past HD, 1-1.5GB is all you really need.
  7. Also he likes it more than BS because you are flying a US aircraft this time around.
  8. It's not much more than we already know. Pretty much it was the whole sim column. The writer apparently has one of the Beta builds and says that so far it's every thing he expected from DCS/ED. That's the whole thing in a nutshell.
  9. I was actually on one with a name like "Naval Operations" or sum such. I was the only Red team player. A few people where on Blue. Aside from that I know very little about what happened. They had a listing for an IP for Vent. Next time I will have to hop on there and find a wingman.
  10. Not sure the number, but it has the Civ 5 cover with Bismark clocking Washington.
  11. ..... and I was killed by a "building" before getting to the target area. I know it was a missile of some kind, It exploded in my face. I ejected and then a message came up saying I was killed by a "building". Is there any way to find out what really hit me? Since the screens are a bit different than the single player ones, I am a bit lost. Also, how can I spectate and actually watch what is going on rather than fly around like a ghost?
  12. What would be the hold up for making a Eurofighter sim? Getting access tot he aircraft and data? Or is it some kind of limitation of the current DCS engine?
  13. The biggest issue I have with the Apache is that it's a two seater. Unless you get a really good AI pilot/gunner or fly with some one, it will never truly be be a sim. Not a sim like what we expect form DCS.
  14. So, my newest issue of PC Gamer showed up with a hands on of DCS A-10. Seems all is looking really good to the writer. With the mention both from Wags and from the article of a 2010 release, I was wondering if there was any word on the target date?
  15. I'm sure it's on here some place, but why do a sim on an aircraft that has been done several times, like the Apache. Why not something more multipurpose that seems well liked but has only been used once really, Eurofighter Typhoon. Sure there was the Eurofighter series back in the day, but it's the only one. A hardcore DCS title with this aircraft would be awesome, IMHO.
  16. The Horse is back! With back story!
  17. They are one generation back, so, lower end. If it was a 5870, that would be a different story. Just like the 200 series from nVidia is lower end now. Replaced by the 400 (fermi).
  18. If you want truelly blazing speed, check out the OCZ Revo. It's two SSDs built on a PCIe PCB with built in RAID 0. PCIe bus speeds are MUCH faster than SATA2/3.
  19. Slight miswording, I meant that SSD's start around $80 for the Onyx drives. I think actual price is around $84. My current build in progress is using a Vertex2 drive for the OS and a Raid 10 with four WD 1TB Black series 6gb/s drives. Not much point putting games on the SSD. You are better off putting just the OS on it. Overal speed is not much faster than magnetic drives. But what is a lot faster is random access times. As long as you have defragged magnetic drives and they are in raid 0 or 10, you will get plenty fast load times in games.
  20. Even more classic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymzh7YAlZng
  21. 4800 series cards are a bit low end any way. No offence. I have a single manually overclocked GTX260 and it has no issues with and ED games or ARMA 2. ARMA 2 can bog down if I crank up the AA though. With the card the OP is using, he should have no issues with one card.
  22. The must use differnt software to program the G19 and the sticks. The G19 software is much like the Saitek, as far as how it works. Either basic key strokes or macros. Enter in much the same way on both. I'm surprised they have not done this across the whole line.
  23. He is running nVidia, so SLI, not Crossfire. But, at any rate, unless running super high res, SLI or Crossfire has little benefit in most games. The second GPU is never under full load. You get about a 20-30% boost most of the time. Depending on the starting FPS, that's only 5-10 fps. Many times you can get that from overclocking. Like I said, get MSI afterburner and overclock the crap out of it. Just make sure not to cook the card. Use Furmark to test the stability and heat build. Furmark will push the card to much hotter levels than any game. If things stay stable, your overclock is good and it's time to benchmark.
  24. You can get much larger SSD's for $200. Get an OCZ Onyx or Vertex 1 SSD. Onyx is the cheapest. We sell them starting at around $80 at Microcenter where I work. But we sell a lot of things at low prices. Like the i7 930 at $200. It's all about knowing where to shop.
