  1. The simple answer would be that ED has been doing a A-10C trainer for the US ANG and have secured the rights to create a entertainment product from that trainer (as far as I can remember).

Second, it is not meant as a product for the Lock On/Flaming Cliffs series but for the Digital combat Simulator series, none of the planes in the FC series has even a fraction of the functionality that will be in the DCS series. with regard to multirole ac then one reason I could se is the radar modelling, I don't think that DCS has a proper A/G radar modelled yet.

  2. Small arms doesn't create that much of a muzzle flash, and seeing it in daylight from a moving jet would be surprisingly difficult.

Not much brush and trees ins Afghanistan, try googling Helmand and the green zone, it is named so for a reason.

Not saying these things to be a wisea$$ but knowing people from the danish army that serves on the ground in that area and hearing how they describe it (having had to relie on the GPS from the Leopard 2A5DK tanks to spot targets, simply because the TI is far superior to any naked eye spotting there, mainly because of high elephant grass, brushes, and wooded areas. strangely the Helmand provinse is also one of the places where there has been the most fighting.

  3. My dream sim, that would be one of two things, both would be career based even on multiplayer, first would be a naval aviator simulation, complete with proper deckhandling and comms. the second would be a naval sim, you start with one of a number of specialties (ASW warfare surface warfare, sensor or the like, and then choose your platform type (but not the platform) learn to master systems and get promoted see if you could end up as a TG commander (You'd need the previous game to earn TF commander)

  4. If you have other CH controllers go to setup and check axis for them, the ministick on the throttle might also be programmed as aileron and elevator control, as might some axis on the pedals, I only use Lockons controller setup, that let me tweak it for the individual plane plus it's real easy to do in the sim.

  5. Actually it just checks for LOMAC 1.0 that was all I had installed. You don't need to install it to the same directory as lock On and you can uninstall Lock On afterwards (I did).

Mine is running super smooth at max graphics and at a resolution of 1920x1080 Catalyst 10.2 no issues or crashes.

  6. Try jumping into water and land on your stomach, it is not that soft or squishy... water is actually pretty dense, and the projectiles move pretty darn fast, you even get ricochets from tank rounds, I read somewhere that up to Desert Storm where the tanks were practicing firing in the desert they had shots bounce and thay got tracked by radar up to 16000 feet.

  7. This speculation doesn't really lead anywhere, what they'll make is entirely up to them and possible military clients, I know that even if they'd make the famous elastic powered plane I'd propably get it, so no more speculating from me, what I was mentioning earlier in this thread was also that speculation and some wishful thinking.

  8. I'd like the Apache, however either the SU-27 or the F-15 would be nice..... Or my little wishfuld heart would be extremely pleased by DCS:Tomcat

However that is all speculation.... or rather wishful thinking, even though I have an idea that Matt wouldnt shun away from the latter, if the info were available.

  9. I can see a lot of great opportunities with coop, where the KA-50 does it's FAC thing!

    1) The KA-50 can sneak up and take care of close defences (Zoo or the likes)

    2) The KA-50 will have the possibility to take a good long recon of the area and even point out attack lanes and areas to avoid.

    3) Having a smoke marker on the ground where you're supposed to put your eyes and weapons does make the job for the fast jets a lot easier, it also gives the Helo some basic defense agains other jets (Off course this should be left for dedicated platforms like Fulcrum, Flanker or Eagles)

  10. Many thanks for the support Danish Squid.

No Problem, I have also seen the game at the local Gamestop, unfortunately he can't sell them (He's a Fifa geek)

And I enjoy the game hugely myself so if I can even do a little then I have done some!
