Sounds like it is giving some update prompts when it really shouldn't, as first it needs the DCS update prior to installing the PG map.

Yeah, IIRC the updater only checks for updates once per day or so and if people have spammed DCS to update multiple times today already, then it won't check for updates for a while, but it will offer you to download the new map regardless, although you haven't installed the the update first, which is required for the map...

many threads were created. Update DCS to latest Open Beta version and then install PG. 8GB update for DCS and 13gb for PG.

thx for that i had downloaded the dcs world 2.5(2 weeks ago) not the beta version, went to my start menu dcs world click check for updates and said the version i got is up to date which is 2.5.0.15365.345

You have to switch to the Open Beta then. Or wait a few weeks untill the PG map is available for the normal release branch.

Yep if that is the case and they keep getting those PG Map prompts in Module Manager when not even updated DCS World with this morning's update, going to be a lot of cries for help on the forums during the day today.

Search the forums for the command switch. This will allow you to change your current install to beta with little effort. You can also use Skatezilla's GUI updater to do the same.

No. You can either install the beta in parallel in adition to your release installation, or you convert your release installation to the open beta by running the DCS updater with the following command: DCS_updater.exe update @openbeta

This guide has more info on how to do that: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030

Yes, the Hornet will probably be available for the Open Beta first as well.
