toby23 Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 (edited) Hello, In the LLTM Black Shark Preview film (see here), the user is sitting in front of 4 screens playing Black Shark. At the beginning, he uses something like a wii remote to click the instruments and later appears to be using his fingers to click directly on the screens. Q. What is he using at the beginning to point and click? Q. Does Black Shark have native support for touch screens? Where can I get them from? Thanks for your help, Toby Edited September 18, 2008 by toby23 Ryzen 5800X, 32GB RAM, RTX 3060

-Skipper- Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Q1: He does? Didn't realize. Q2: Touchscreens simulate the mouse. Where you touch with your finger, the mouse-pointer moves. So if the cockpit is clickable, there is no need for Touchscreen-support as such, as far as I understand it. (IIRC I read in some other forum that the Monitor was a 22" (?) and costs about 1000 Euros.) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Q. Does Black Shark have native support for touch screens? Where can I get them from You can use a touchscreen for every application that allows the manipulation with a mouse. There is no need of a native support. Search for 'touchscreen' or 'touchscreen overlay' in the web. Edited September 18, 2008 by urze Leftside Limited - ideas and solutions
toby23 Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Sorry Urze, I just checked again and saw that its your hand, not a remote. When i saw the film this morning (pre-coffee) i could have sworn you had some kind of remote in your hands... I just checked out your site, your flight stick looks kinda cool! Great for people with space to build pits. Thanks for the info about the touchscreens, very interesting. Now if only i had the space, the money and the time.. oh and a copy of black shark! Thanks for your help all of you, Toby PS Love your avatar Urze, one of my favourite films... Ryzen 5800X, 32GB RAM, RTX 3060

Don't believe everything you read in the web...:) It's a 15'' touchscreen - and much, much cheaper than 1000 €. When you sit in the right distance the outer borders align with the upper 22" screen. Nice side effect: You have to readjust the focus of your eyes when switching from from the 'outside' to the 'inner cockpit' view. This adds immersion and a realistic feeling - Something you can hardly show on a video. Edited September 18, 2008 by urze Leftside Limited - ideas and solutions

Yeah, I can imagine it adds a lot to immersion and it is indeed much cheaper as a 22" Touchscreen :D Thanks for the info and thanks for all those great informations on your website. Hope your project comes along nicely - surely gonna be your customer, as soon as you're ready to go. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

MonnieRock Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Ferocious Imbecile, Thank you for the link. I would like to just get the codec for Media Player 11. Did not want to install another player. Do you know which codec I need? Verdungo Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 (edited) BlackShark LLTM PREVIEW 1280x720.AVI (244 354 838 bytes): Video: MPEG4 Video 1280x720 25.00fps 2008Kbps [Video 0] Audio: MPEG Audio Layer 3 22050Hz stereo 96Kbps [Audio 1] It plays on my Media Player Classic so I say you download ffdshow (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow) and it should play fine. Thank you, Monnie I recommend the vlc-player: It even plays Quicktime-movies and flv's (Flashmovie-Files used by youtube and similar websites) http://www.videolan.org/ You won't need to search for the right codex with this player. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I have two monitors (24" and 17")and I want to know if I can put them vertically with soft Th. Thank you. PD: sorry for my english. :)
urze Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 When you are using only two monitors vertical you don't need SoftTh (SoftTh works only horizontal). The only thing you need is WindowsXP and both monitors hooked up on one graphic card. Put them in vertical span mode-This allow windos to use booth monitors as if they are one. Don't mix it up wit Dualhead mode (talking of Nvidia - my experience with ATI is very poor.). And the game should recognize all resolutions you could enter and/or the game supports. For this kind of questions I opened a thread in the Tech section. Please read it to get more info.
