Hi all. I am relatively recent add-on to Lock ON:FC. I am also a huge military aviation buff(no I am neither fat nor ugly!). I love Air Power Review, Combat Aircraft, and Air Forces Monthly publication. I noticed that Peruvian Air Force have used MIG and SU-25 airframes sence '80s, and more recently, Suchkoi OKB has offered SU-25T/39 to Peru. I can't say if they offered made an offer to Peruvia Air Force or Navy or both. So I figured what would SU-25T/39 would look like in Peruvian Navy livery. I went wth low visibility ocean grey. I've included a preview JPG of half a fuselage, as I would like feedback and ideas. Do you think this is on a right track. There is really no precedent, as Peruvian Navy currently does not have fixed wing strike assets, though they do have Exocet in inventory. Peruvian Air Force uses SU-22 with Elbit electonics to make them compatible with NATO MILSTD stores. This is according to Wikipedia and Air Power Review.

OK. Thanx, great to know you guys like it!

OK, good to have + feedback. I do need some assistance. SU-39 map templates are numerous, and I am not certain where the nose and cockpit are mapped. I need to locate the fake underside canopy right below cockpit, but the way UVW map is layed its hard to tell. I wish that map templates would come with layout grid for UVW location.

Peruvian navy skin is done! Need help to upload it.

But I need help uploading it. The ZIP file is almost is 3822 kb in size and this forum will not accept ZIPs over 1000kb, or total combined ZIPs over 1000kb from me. It tells me limit reached.

Is there an upload repository that someone can point me to. Or contact my public e-mail at daverindner at yahoo dot com, if you own a repository.

The map looks nice. It works pretty well if there is dense overcast with 40km visibility and over land in winter. LOMAC/FC sets the water and sky as dreary gray. I put in fake cockpit glass on bottom of fuselage, and from distance, when aircraft is in steep bank, it is hard to tell which direction it is turning.

Version 01 of Peruvian Naval Su-25T/39 is availble

I could not upload it here, so I uploaded to http://www.lockonskins.co.uk

Use ModMan. The DDS files replace the SU-25T Test Scheme skin.

Had to make some compromises.

I wanted to make the gear struts, wheels, and gear bay, painted white, but LOMAC FC uses single map for those details for all schemes.

Same for pylon underwing portion.

Works well with overcast skys, like those found in Southwest Pacific. Also works well over winter terrain.

The download link mentions that it overwrites an existing skin. With the 25T you can add new skins in the list. Any chance of a version that will do so?

Its a matter of naming with ModMan

Its just a matter of properly renaming the DDS files.

Problem is, I don't know what that name the should be, and how to do it in ModMan. ModMan only gives me the option to insert a an idetically named file(s) for exisiting ones.

If you know how to use ModMan to do ADD vs. insert maps, PLEASE describe it.

Hello Dave, (so 2001 :p :D ) This is a step by step guide that will allow you to add new Su-25T skins instead of overwriting existing ones. You might find it quite helpful. Note though this can only be done to the 25T, F/A-18 and C-130. No other craft can be edited like this. Also please back-up any file you are going to edit.

First of all give you skin files a convenient name to distinguish them from the stock skins. For this example I will use our squadron Su-25T aerobatic skin. I renamed these files SU39-PAINT2-AERO.bmp, SU39-PAINT3-AERO.bmp etc. These files will go into your Bazar/temptexture folder as usual.

Temptexturefolder.jpg

Fig 1.1 my temptexture folder

Next you add information of your skin to the Meinit file as shown here. The information you have to add is under the main Su-25T entry in the units catagory (where loadout and pylons are listed) and further down in the country catagory. Give your entry a unique CLSID number (so the sim can distinguish between them) and an ID code (next in sequence).

MeInitfileinfo2.jpg

Next you edit the following files in the Bazar/world/shapes folder with Wordpad or other editor. These files are Su-25T.skins, SU-25T-FONAR.skins, SU-25T-NOSE.skins, SU-25T-TAIL.skins and SU-25T-WING-L.skins. You enter the name of the files used by your skin. The “value” being the ID code that you entered into the MeInit file, like this. All the information in these files should be the same.

All being well when you enter the loadout screen, Your skin should be entered into the skin collection like this.

Modman will place any skins that are not named the same as the stock skins into the bazar/temptextures folder, so name these files whatever you want.

You can also add different skins to the droptanks as well. Just open the PTB-800.skins file in the bazar/world/shapes folder with wordpad (backing it up first). The "value" entry is again the ID of the skin that you want the droptank skin to be paired with. In this example of our instructor skin its ID is 13 so its value number is 1.3. the name of the skin file for it's tank is PTB-800-PAINT-TRAIN.BMP so this is entered to tell the sim if I use the instructor skin use this skin as a droptank skin.

so just as you have multiple skins you can also have multiple droptank skins. :D

Any questions on this process I will be only too happy to answer.

lockonfiles.com is not LockonSkins.co.uk ;)

Direct link to the skin page:

To DaveRindner:

If you search by aircraft, SU-25T, it comes up, though in this site, which is kind buggy, I sometimes get aq blank page. But its there.

Can you be more specific?

When you select a specific aircraft from the list, it will show you an overview of the pages. For Su-25T there is only one, so you see one link "page 1". Click it an it takes you to the Su-25T listing :o
