I have seen the video presentation, and the DIVX download, what I cant seem to find any info on is how this actually works? I have tracker IR, Do I need to download this DIVX file and do I need a special monitor to be able to touch the screen to activate a function? I have searched the internet and I can not find any fundemental info on this, not even over at Leftside-limited.com. Please advice, thanks

Hi Fakum,

The name of the video was meant as explanation:

Head Tracking and Touchscreen.

In this video I show what you can achieve when

you use a head tracking system like Naturalpoint's

TrackIR or FreeTrack and a Touchscreen as

additional input devices. Nothing more nothing less.

And the download button called "DIVX" is the name

of the video container in witch I decoded the video in a

better resolution for off-line use. There is no

such software that emulates a touchscreen with a

normal CTR or TFT Monitor.

You need special hardware to do this.

I will add further explanations in the future.

I'm sorry for this misapprehension.

Kind regards,

Urze

Edit: And I promise that I will pay more attention on better sound levels the next time. ;)

I appreciate the response, a novice like myself was not clear on the matter. Im sure there are more knowledgable individuals out there who need no such clarification. Perhaps some dont recall having to begin somewhere. I appreciate your efforts, keep up the great work. Im an old Longbow2 pilot who has not been combat flight simming since those days and I am looking forward to the release of the Western version of Black Shark to dive back in again. I have been reading the threads for months and when I came accross this "touchscreen",, I got excited and went searching for info. Thanks again.

Urze,

Is it possible for you to go into more of a demonstration about how you achieved this? I see you have one monitor which is primarily for your view, and I see you have your touchscreen below. I too have TrackIR. Is this just a simple multi-monitor setup using windows? Were there any pitfalls you ran into while trying to do this?

Right now, I have a nice 22" widescreen monitor, and I have found a site that sells 22" widescreen touchscreens. So could I theoretically plug that into my nvidia card and then I'm ready to go or is it more involved in that. I think this is the direction I would like to go in. I just hope that Vista isn't going to be a problem with this setup.

Thank you in advance for any further explanations you can supply.
