Zomba Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 ED, do you even look at your tickets or email inbox? One of the guys in my squadron hasn't been able to use DCS A-10c for about two months. Since the last patch we managed to move on from his original problem, but now there is an error with the activation server not letting him authenticate. A support ticket and two emails later and you are yet to reply. Guys, normally we tend to be pretty lenient on things like this as we live in an imperfect world, but I think it is fair to say that your performance on this issue is terrible. At least take the time to link his serial back to his account as this, for some reason, disappeared from his account. Another thing I think I need to relate to you is that popular support in our squadron for you has taken a dramatic downturn. I want to see you guys do well, I think the quality of the sim is impressive, but you are letting seemingly idiotic issues ruin an otherwise excellent product. I think you can understand I am not just referring to this particular issue with a customer, but a broader problem with various decisions recently. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60857 Leaving information like this is clearly incorrect as you have implemented the controversial policy of Master Server login for all multiplayer. I would suggest strongly that the linked information be amended to reflect reality. Pull your finger out and do your job, you are not a charity, but a for profit enterprise, so people expect the sort of service they paid for. Kind Regards, Zomba. I don't test for bugs, but when I do I do it in production.

We should give this to the people, much fun.' TFC: 'Sorry chap, we just don't have the staff to do something like that. Besides, the military contracts are too lucrative. If we made it available to civilians we'd barely break even against the cost of development. Let's just sell the declassified sections of the source code to EA Games.' *Meanwhile at the EA Games cave!* EA Games Producer: 'Sure we'll give you millions for that. No, thank you. We would have to scrap about half the code, and bring the key commands down to about 15. That's the latest projections from marketing on the average attention span. Yeah we could do it. Zomba Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 (edited) I forgot it was completely unreasonable to expect straight forward customer service. Edited March 28, 2011 by Zomba wording I don't test for bugs, but when I do I do it in production.
StrongHarm Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Zomba I meant no offense by making light of the situation. It's not unreasonable to expect good service, I agree. ED is a small company, but I've seen them taking the proper steps forward. I've not had a problem yet that wasn't promptly resolved. There are some very helpful reps and users on these boards. This product, and this company, are evolving. I don't think it's too much to expect support for the product that we purchased. While they're evolving I do think it's reasonable for us all to have personal due diligence in seeking and providing solutions through the community. As a fellow end user I'll do anything I can to help you or your squad mate. Zomba Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 I wasn't having a crack at you. I snorted with glee at your post and thought 'What sort of deranged bastard sits down and thinks of such a reply?' I don't test for bugs, but when I do I do it in production.

Chris CDN Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 (edited) Guys, normally we tend to be pretty lenient on things like this as we live in an imperfect world, but I think it is fair to say that your performance on this issue is terrible. This isn't the first or last thread with those exact words in it. The common thread to them all? They all end up deleted and sent to Siberian salt mines. I'm still in awe that ED sent the code to Steam already. If there was someone in charge of marketing, I'm sure they'd be fired once they introduce hundreds of thousands of people to a product that doesn't work. I couldn't be more frustrated with the lack of support from ED. But moreover, it's been clear that the project management from the get go has been abysmal. I love this game. But I think it's complete BS that ED is holding on to my money while I can't play it. This is a final product. Not a beta. I had no complaints when the beta didn't do something perfectly, but I'm literally in awe of how poor the released product and follow on support is. Edited March 28, 2011 by Chris CDN NSDQ

I'm sorry you are having problems Chris, but do you think this is a fair or accurate statement? The product does not work perfectly, but it does work for the majority of users. I'm sure it is just the frustration talking, which I understand. Again, sorry to hear you are having a bad experience. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" Tez Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 We are overloaded with support requests currently. In any case all requests will be answered and resolved. I've updated MP Registration issues with a post. In general, the most of MP FAQ isn't actual already. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] =653=Tez
