Well, im 15 y/o. I come from little country in Baltic region called Latvia.

Why I want x52? First of all, because I cant afford it now. And second - you can't buy them in Latvia...

Here's my contribution.

Flown and partly rendered on my Ideapad Y560 with a Logitech Wingman joystick.

i7 1.73GHz, 4GB ram, Radeon 5700 mobile.

 

Some of the shots were FRAPS'd at 1/4 speed and then sped up in Sony Vegas due to the abysmal frame rate. The others were done by my brother back in the states.

 

While it's currently not in the cards to upgrade my peripherals this is a great opportunity for me. I've gotten to know and love my Wingman stick but her days are numbered.

Seeing the videos made I dont think I stand a chance.....but in fact I made the video so my kid who bug me to fly can fly with me with his own set as we can't afford him one.

 

I didnt thought I could make it until the last moment so will see...plain movie compared to the other edited ones.

DHL Lost the package!!!

I did send the package Monday the 29th of August to Latvija

with a cheap variant without tracking outside Germany - and I thought it is save because it is in the EU.

I also made a customs-declaration on it that a X52 is in this package...

They said that it will normal take no more than 14 days.

After It didn't arrived I until the 1st of this month I went (very angry) into a DHL office and claimed my problems...

Yesterday I received a standard-form letter from DHL - that they are investigating in it - but this could take about 14 more days to say me more about it and so on.... -and the package is insured with a amount of 50€ (because I used the standard- means cheap- transfer method ) and I will receive this money when I give them a declaration from Reaper that he didn't get the package....:music_whistling: ahh - and yes! - they are sorry too!

- and this could take again some month - until they will close this case....

I'm so Sorry Reaper!!! Atvainojiet !!

This is what I will do :

I check the offers at Ebay - and make a bet on a X52.

So I will make sure that you can sit at least at Christmas with a X52 under the Christmas-Tree - Promised!!! (and I sure will use a fully insured and track-able service this time!!! and declare it as Stinking-Socks ;)!!!)

I just don't want to see this thread turned to be a topic about shipping methods...- I'm now really good informed!!;). As sorry I am - these things just happens - probably at the most wrong time - but that's life... Thank you.

To bring this tread back on topic I want to reveal

why I voted this way:

For me It was a very hard decision between "Tusks of Rage" and "Green Machine"...

I voted for "Tusks of Rage". - so you can ad 9 points plus to Squirrels points.

Both videos have very nice angels and shoots!

But "Tusks of Rage" had a very nice intro and used also a nice way of linear story telling. and a sharp Eye on interesting details- like showing also the contend of the MFDs/Hud .(even if both warthogs made it back surprisingly with a full payload...:P)

And I want also point out that it has a very nice use of "ambient sound".

"Green Machine" is also good made and a little better on the "fast-paced" side.

But- I had to subtract some points because it didn't used the whole soundtrack and there is a minus on the "sky flicker" (probably a shortcoming of the GPU). If this vid would be rendered again on a proper system -sure I would tend to see it as superior or at last equal to "tusk of rage" - but in it state as it is - i have the feeling that something is missing to make it feel really "finished" for me.

-but anyway you made a great job in this short period of time!

I just want to be honest to you and I have the feeling you both deserve to hear my critic about it.
