Fakum Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Huh? Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle
Fakum Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Let me try to simplify my own question here, because im still working on resolving this. In my Thrustmaster Cougar, Foxy programming, I have the following joystick file: Rem H2 BTN H2U /I Cockpitpanelviewtoggle /O /H HotasTMSUp BTN H2D /I ViewDownslow /O /H HotasTMSDown BTN H2L /I ViewDownLeftslow /O /H HotasTMSLeft BTN H2R /I ViewDownRightslow /O /H HotasTMSRight I understand this completely, what I don’t understand is that when I do : BTN H2U /I Cockpitpanelviewtoggle With this action, I can now use snap views (which is great), the above stated “IN functions no longer function as stated e.g: BTN H2R /I ViewDownRightslow Is now a snap view function, and does not function as stated above. The toggling of the : BTN H2U /I Cockpitpanelviewtoggle Somehow now utilizes this macro instead: SnapView0 = USB (DE3 D62 U62 UE3) SnapView1 = USB (DE3 D59 U59 UE3) SnapView2 = USB (DE3 D5A U5A UE3) SnapView3 = USB (DE3 D5B U5B UE3) SnapView4 = USB (DE3 D5C U5C UE3) SnapView5 = USB (DE3 D5D U5D UE3) SnapView6 = USB (DE3 D5E U5E UE3) SnapView7 = USB (DE3 D5F U5F UE3) SnapView8 = USB (DE3 D60 U60 UE3) SnapView9 = USB (DE3 D61 U61 UE3) I don’t see how this macro is “turned on and off” if you will Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle
ivanwfr Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I'm willing to help but all I can talk about is TARGET and TMWH HOTAS hardware. All I know is that TARGET would make no difference in what the sim gets from a keyboard action and a script-generated keyboard event....
Fakum Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I appreciate your assistance,,, off the bat,, I have no idea what the term "TARGET" is in relation to controller programming? Thanks Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle
xWARGOx Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 TARGET is thrustmaster's newer software for programming their HOTAS. Something other than foxy.
Fakum Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 ohhhhh,,,,,, Thanks,, just for curiosity, I will see if it is compatable with the Cougar? ivanwfr Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 For the passing by reader comprehension (as I know you found the answer since), T.A.R.G.E.T stands for Thrustmaster Advanced pRogramming Graphical EdiTor (taken from TARGET_User_Manual.pdf)
Fakum Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Well just to bump this, back to the original question: Let me try to simplify my own question here, because im still working on resolving this. Mr_Blastman Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 This is a neat profile, thanks--one question... big one... How do I ramp start using it and the Cougar throttle when the throttle won't budge at rest since I'm assuming you need to control each throttle separately? Any ideas? I can't get the darned throttle to move to spool up my engines, yet in instant action it moves fine.
Fakum Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 As far as I know, you cant bum p the throttle up with this profile to do a start,,, I use the keyboard for that procedure,,,, BTW, I never got my question above resolved,,,,, Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle
gbag1992 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Thanks for the awesome profile! I do have a couple of question.. 1. Installation is to put the files in the correct map? No work required in Foxy or CCP? 2. I can use the microstick to move the camera in external view, but is there a way to use it in cockpit view? I don't have TrackIR and now I cant move the camera in the cockpit. 3. What are best settings in the Axis Tune for the Cougar? The plane flies a bit sloppy now. Thanks in advance, I'm quite new to the Cougar and it al seems complicated..:noexpression:
Zeke Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Hi, I'll try to answer as best I can. I use this profile, and have since I bought DCS A10.2. Yes, you can use the microstick, and yes but I found that using it in the cockpit as a mouse didn't feel that right and didn't save any time. 1. I've modified the file in Foxy to fit my needs, team speak, VAC, no snap views, TrackIR commands, etc... 2. Yes to both. However I didn't like trying to use the mircostick as a mouse in the cockpit. 3. What do you mean by sloppy? I have my settings around a deadzone of 3 or 4 and a curve of 25 or so. In short, it's a great profile, the best one out there.
Creature_1stVFW Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I downloaded and installed this profile to my Cougar, but it doesnt work at all. None of the buttons work as advertised in the picture it came with. I am new to DCS, but not the Cougar. I could very well be doing something wrong, but downloading and installing a tmj is not rocket science.:helpsmilie: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus MOBO||Ryzen 9 3900X 12 Core, 24 Thread Processor || MSI GTX 1070Ti 8GB GPU OverClocked || 32GB GSKILL DDR4 RAM @3600 || Samsung 1TB SSD || Samsung 250GB SSD || WD Caviar Black 2TB HDD || WD Caviar Black 1TB HDD || Thermaltake ToughPower GF1 850W PS || Thermaltake Tower || Windows 10 Pro 64bit || Thrustmaster Warthog and Cougar sticks, throttles and MFDs || Saitek Rudder Pedals || Trackir 5 ||
