Reflected Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 (edited) I noticed a bug since yesterday's update. At Beny sur mer, AI planes taxi as if they were stuck in superglue. Painfully slowly. Happens to the Spit and the P-51 too. EDIT: It's happening at other airfields too!! :( Edited April 26, 2018 by Reflected Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
sslechta Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Hey Reflected, seeing a kinda similar issue in multiplayer with real folks: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=207139 Steve (Slick) ThrustMaster T.Flight Hotas X | TrackIR5 Pro | EVGA GTX 1070 | Win10 64-bit Professional | Dell Precision 7920 Workstation | 1 TB SSD | 128 GB Memory | Dual Intel Xeon Platinum 2.0 GHz 16 Core Processors (64 Total w/HT ON) | 24" Dell Monitor
Reflected Posted April 26, 2018 Author Posted April 26, 2018 Err...not sure how it's related. That one's more about crashing and freezing. My problem is that AI WW2 planes taxi like a pregnant snail on the Normandy map. Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
sslechta Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 OK, I took the taxi slowness as a freeze. Apologies. Reflected Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 An AI FW-190 flight trying to take off from Evreux. They got stuck in this position FOREVER. This bug has seriously messed up many missions, I'm surprised nobody else reported this :( Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
Reflected Posted May 1, 2018 Author Posted May 1, 2018 I think I found why it's happening. It seems that the collision avoidance of the AI when taxiing has been set to very sensitive. As soon as anything is near his path he stops. But in an exaggerated way. See in the video, the AI Spit could have taxied onto the runway, but 50 yards ahead there were parked Spits, so he stopped, and started creeping forward inch by inch. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted May 1, 2018 ED Team Posted May 1, 2018 Hi Reflected we do have some taxi issues reported and some resolved internally, when I test this it seems to run ok internally so hopefully it wont be long before you see the changes. thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Reflected Posted May 11, 2018 Author Posted May 11, 2018 Unfortunately the problem is still there after today's update. AI still won't taxi normally, valid for all planes, all airfields, as long as there is an object anywhere near their path :( Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord

AI still won't taxi normally, valid for all planes, all airfields, as long as there is an object anywhere near their path :( can you attach your mission so I can examine it, thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Reflected Posted May 11, 2018 Author Posted May 11, 2018 Here it is: 1) Planes will not taxi on to the runway because the second flight is in their way at the other side of the runway. It doesn't matter that they don't want to taxi all the way there. Once the second flight taxies, they move on. 2) A Spit gets stuck because of an oil barrel in front of the hangars in the grass. He never wants to taxi off the taxiway, but stops nonetheless. 3) Same mission the barrel moved back, that Spit taxies freely, but another one from another flight gets stuck halfway on the runway, heaven knows why, perhaps the windsock is in his path?Missions.zip Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted May 12, 2018 ED Team Posted May 12, 2018 Thanks. As you mention it is the proximity of the barrels to the taxi way creating the issues, moving them slightly will help. Aircraft can be sensitive to obstructions on taxiways and runways. On mission 3 I did not get any of the aircraft stuck half on the runway, I was using a internal build to test so you may see changes in the future with this one. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Reflected Posted May 13, 2018 Author Posted May 13, 2018 What about the first one though? There are no barrels, and the obstacle is a flight of Spit that are not even in the way? Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted May 13, 2018 ED Team Posted May 13, 2018 What about the first one though? There are no barrels, and the obstacle is a flight of Spit that are not even in the way? that seems to be working fine for me when tested with my internal build, so again it should roll out to public in a future update.
