Irishlad200000 Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Hi I am having a dilemma! I can get steady 60fps on current settings until I fire up any campaign! Then nose dives to 40! I have the following specs PC Intel 6700k @ 4.5 EVGA GTX 1080ftw 32 ram SSD 4K ASUS screen Does anyone have an up to date guide for 2018? I know there are lots about, but the are quite dated now! Have tried downscaling and the results look bad! I know 4K is asking a lot! I will wait until the RTX 2080ti comes down! Any advice much appreciated! Especially if you have similar hardware and have a workaround! Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
David OC Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 (edited) At the moment I'm forcing DCS to 60 fps and can hold that fairly well in most situations. autoexec.cfg (options.graphics.maxfps = 60) It is better for my system with Track IR I run SSAA x1.5 MSAA (OFF) NVIDIA control (2x supersample) The big thing here as you have mentioned (4K) is very hard on any system.....That's why I'm at 1440P G-Sync still, eye candy ---- FPS balance. Your going to have to lower "things" down or try dropping to 1440P (How does it look at 1440P ?) I guess not real good if not at native res... EDIT: Civ traffic I set to low or off normally.... Everytime that I have tried to set FPS at 60 with the autoexec file, the FPS displayed in DCS will show some number in the 50's. i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"

Everytime that I have tried to set FPS at 60 with the autoexec file, the FPS displayed in DCS will show some number in the 50's. That setting simply caps the maximum framerate, which some have reported helps with smooth gameplay while using trackIR. Maintaining 60 fps is still a matter of tweaking settings for performance. 2080Ti will still drop into the 50's @ 4k with max settings and flying close to the ground. Which a 1440p monitor with 1.5ssaa = 4k res pretty much. David OC Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 (edited) Not sure why brianjmac..? Something must be affecting it possibly.... Do you use this full line below in the file? options.graphics.maxfps = 60 This is what my pc looks like CPU - GPU - FPS when locked. No Overclock on GPU and only @ 4.8Ghz CPU (Not even pushing near max CPU/GPU to hold 60) That's the point tho right, so she has headroom and makes Track IR smoother. DeathAngel1 Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 After last OB update, seems like I have lower FPS also. I was OK before with my settings, but now its almost impossible to play. I didnt changed anything. Why is that? ..:NAVY PILOTS ARE THE THE BEST PILOTS:..

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro I dont know what is happening, I was playing without any problems before that patch. Maybe ED has changed some system requirements to high? If thats true, its so sad...:( ..:NAVY PILOTS ARE THE THE BEST PILOTS:..
Nero.ger Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 have to a agree, more stutters in since the last OB patch :( 'controlling' the Ka50 feels like a discussion with the Autopilot and trim system about the flight direction.
fjacobsen Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 It would be nice if some of the devs would com into this part of the forum and explain why performance is getting worse. Seems that game optimations are of low priority - strange considering the amount of users struggling to get smooth game play. | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2.
