Ganesh
Don´t know what you really mean? You can change the Flaps position whatever you want: If you retract before hydraulik falls -> they are retracted If you miss to retract before shut down -> they stay extended nice videos ;) regards Ganesh She: "Your orders from ED have reached a total amount of $871,88 and your hardware expenses are countless..." nomdeplume
I'd guess User is referring to the cold start option -- the flaps are extended if you do a cold start. Possibly also static aircraft, but haven't checked that.
User
The Parking lot. Flaps retracted. In the game the same, when in the mission during cold start-up, flaps issued.

clockwork_air
Accordance with the flight manual, flaps might drop down without pressure in hydraulic subsystem.

Snoopy
Accordance with the flight manual, flaps might drop down without pressure in hydraulic subsystem. "Might" is the key word. In all the years I've worked A-10s I have never seen the flaps bleed down after shutdown. It's a bug I reported years ago. 1 v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website | v303rd Fighter Group Twitter

User
Bimbac
Same goes for Su-25/25T. Flaps are held in retracted position by locks, so no matter if there is no hydraulic pressure, the flaps stay retracted. This, however, doesn't apply for flaperon equipped aircraft, such as Su-27. The flaperons drop down by their own weight if the hyd. pressures bleeds out, which is correctly modeled in DCSWorld.
Snoopy
Known issue and reported a long time ago. FYI, there are no "locks" on A-10 flaps. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website | v303rd Fighter Group Twitter
User
Known issue and reported a long time ago. FYI, there are no "locks" on A-10 flaps.

I stand corrected, although I was referring to Su-25 flaps. Anyway, valuable information from a subject matter expert is always welcome! Have a nice day.
