1.2.6 and force feedback

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

Since i've updated to 1.2.6 i have a very boring issue. Keyboard and joystick keys are taking from 1 to 5 second to respond in the game, it's impossible to play.

But if I turnoff force feedback in the settings of DCS (Sidewinder Force Feedback 2) the problem disappear.

4 R's of fixing don't work.

Do you have any idea to fix the problem?

Thanks a lot.

(Sorry for my poor english)

Hello Maxander...

I have had problem issues with my keyboard and Joy too. But finally I solved it deleting the Keyboard.lua file.

For instance, if you have problems with HUEY you need to erase keyboard.lua file from user/savedgames/DCS/Config/Input/UH-1H/Keyboard.lua. (Make a backup first!!)

When you start again DCS world it generates a new keyboard.lua new.

The bad news is that you will need to reassign your keys, but for me it was the solution.

Hope it helps ;)

Ok. I don't know if you tried to plug in the Sidewinder in others USB ports.

I don't know why but I can't plug in my Sidewinder in a USB Hub. It makes that the game freeze. But if I plug in a USB directly on the motherboard It runs perfectly.

You have the same joystick? Or an other ffb joy?

same stick- MSFF2, yes :)

At this moment i'm hating it...

@Katmandu do you know if it's a known bug of the 1.2.6?

There was a bug in earlier builds of DCS world that casued low fps when using MSFF2 (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=103586), this was looked at and fps are no longer a problem, but this bug with loss of stick shake and button delay has appeared. Bugs are inevitable in a complex evolving software but hopefully we'll get a solution in the next patch.

@Katmandu, I hope this problem will be solved before the 1.2.7 :/

I see katmandu posted my thread above.

Just now I was able to squash the input delay by removing my keyboard and joystick lua files and rebuilding from the default lua, as Peter P describes. Still no stick shake with 1.2.6, but this is a big improvement.

To remove the input delay I just have to uncheck the force feedback in settings. But it is not normal, then the joystick is "flabby", this is notsuitable to fly...

Agreed, that is not a solution. Try this:

remove the old joystick and keyboard lua files from c:\user\saved games\dcs\config\input

Open the DCS launcher.

Go to options\controls, click on the column for your msffb2 joystick, and click clear category.

load the default lua for your joystick. For the P-51 it was here

c:\program files\eagle dynamics\dcs world\mods\aircrafts\p-51d\input\p-51d

-------------

This procedure fixed the input delay. The stick shake feature is still not functional.

I have the same issue. Massive input delay with keyboard. I'm also using MSSFFB2. Funny thing is, I've been flying the Ka-50 without problems. I just noticed it now, when I loaded an Su-25T instant action mission. It never happened to me before 1.2.6. Something very strange happening there.

I tried this but actually i'm still at the same point :

Everything's working fine when force feedback is disabled, when i activate it keys are "laggy". :/

Sorry I couldn't help. Everyone's machine is different, so we will have to hope for a fix, soon. Like I said, stick shake is still completely absent for me, so force feedback response is still not correct in 1.2.6.
