Hi,

Made the mistake to not deactivate before changing CPU and thus rendering all activations useless.

The problem is I cannot deactivate since the activations are no longer valid.

I cannot activate them again either!

So I'm in a catch 22 here, nothing works! Only left now is to remove it completely and reinstall again. How can I be sure that all remnants of the installations are gone so that the new activations work?

Right now I'm not particularly happy with this DRM system.

This is not how the DRM works. You lost at most one activation.

Do you get any error messages when trying to activate your modules?

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Yes, that the keys are not valid anymore

And there is no button that lets you reactivate on that popup window?

Don't work, get the error on all keys and DCS crashes.

How do I uninstall making sure that the bloody DRM also gets out of the system. I have no more patience with this.

In the example above it looks like the key for CA worked but it didn't. Every time i start i get this and DCS crashes!

And the other keys don't get past the error report no matter how many times I reenter the keys.

Run this on your PC, it will delete the registry keys from your system. The rest of the DRM is simply a check whether the registry key is correct for your hardware hash and is integrated into the sim. You can try to do a fresh activation afterwards, which *should* work normally.

Thank you very much. That did it with some loss of activations.

I must say I of all DRM that needs to be used I much prefer the

ones that checks against a server instead of this method.

You would have lost those anyway since you did not deactivate.

Yes, I know, that's why I don't like this type of DRM but I'll survive

because the product is great :)

Had the same frustration myself, did a hard drive update which was ok, but then a few days later I did a bios Update (wasn't thinking of the consequences), hate DRM as well.

The deleting of Reg keys fixed it, but it is still a pain to have to deactivate / activate games when doing upgrades, etc.

Just imagine if all the games I have used this type of protection I would have to do 50-100 deactivations and reactivations. Thank god for steam in this respect.

Anyway glad you got if fixed.

Cheers, Ian

We use StarForce Proactive AAA.

This means that if you ever use your last activation, it is automatically given back to you 30 days later. Use the one returned, and the same thing happens again.

As long as you don't change computers more than once amonth, you have effectively infinite activations.

This thread just helped me out, quoting for truth. Might help someone else if it doesn't get buried. This should be in FAQ somewhere, but I didn't see it.

Just to clarify, DCS:XXXXX/World On Steam uses the same DRM, it just activates using a automatic input method.
