razo+r
I have never had this problem before this current version of DCS. This message appears random, at least it feels like it, but only after like 30mins of gaming. DCS doesn't crash, it's more like i have no more RAM, although i didn't had time to check this, and then Windows is restarting itself... Temps are ok, only programms i have open are MSI Afterburner and TrackIR software Anyone can guess the problem? Edit: looks like i've found some crash files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9devgx6m2dktxvr/dcs%20crash.zip?dl=0 And i just deleted all my mods before launching DCS Edited August 7, 2016 by razo+r

razo+r
Ok, managed it to use around 12 gigs max with chrome on, but still a lot, i mean, i never had problems with it with MSI and chrome open and playing DCS... ED Team BIGNEWY Posted August 8, 2016 ED Team Share Posted August 8, 2016 Is your Vram / swap file set to system managed? if not make sure it is and you have plenty of space on the hard drive being used Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Reksi-Erkki
I had a similar crash with the latest alpha, but only once. Flying at the VA NTTR server. Their missions tend to love RAM to death... had to upgrade from 8G to 16G mostly because of that in the 1.2.x days. But 16 gigs is really a hell of a lot of memory; I'll post a log if it happens again. Now I'm all busy watching ladies play rugby. Dear Shilka. I hate you so very very much. razo+r
Is your Vram / swap file set to system managed? if not make sure it is and you have plenty of space on the hard drive being used Where can i check and change that? And also, normal use on dekstop with MSI at startup 2.3 gigs Without MSI at startup also 2.3 gigs Also, 1.5 is on my SSD with 20+gigs left, and i'm always cleaning up some thing so that it won't get lower... razo+r
Thank you Bignewy, i got it now to 7 gigs, but after entering a new server, it went up again to 13 gigs, is it a better idea to always restart DCS? ED Team BIGNEWY Posted August 9, 2016 ED Team Share Posted August 9, 2016 (edited) yes currently it is always best to restart check your pagefile system properties > advanced system settings > performance make sure it is system managed and you have enough room on the drive Edited September 11, 2016 by BIGNEWY Forum rules - DCS Crashing? razo+r
Is there any way i can do to lower the used RAM to make my game lasting a bit longer? i don't really want to buy additionally 16 gigs...
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted September 11, 2016 ED Team Share Posted September 11, 2016 you dont need to buy any more ram, if the pagefile is working as system manged. I have 16gb of ram and have no problems Forum rules - DCS Crashing? razo+r
well it's kinda working, but in some servers, especially on 2.0, my RAM usage starts at 13-14 gigs, which won't allow me to fly long and in different planes... ED Team BIGNEWY Posted September 11, 2016 ED Team Share Posted September 11, 2016 yes if you reduce settings it will help try on medium preset and see how you get on Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Pikey
as others have said, check the disk space where your swapfile is located, usually root of the booting drive, I've done this before and blown my SSD with a few large downloads and gone too close to full on C which kills anything but with DCS the pagefile consumes diskspace according to memory in use. Really interesting about afterburner! Thanks for sharing that. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
