rrohde Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Each time when coming out of autopilot, it seems that I have to re-trim the roll axis, usually to the left, as the autopilot leaves it uncentered. I do understand that the autopilot takes over the pitch and roll axes of the aircraft, but from the 27 I've only ever been required to re-trim the pitch axis - but not the roll axis. Is that something unique to the 33 or a glitch? Ironhand Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 (edited) Unless I'm misunderstanding the issue, that's something I have to do on both airframes if I exit the AP prematurely. EDIT on Nov 1: This is a glitch. I have now had this happen in both the Su-33 and Su-27 from time to time. If you are shure that when you exit autopilot, the plane is with stick centered, then check or modify the deadzone of your joystick, becouse autopilot counters your joystick`s problem. I fly often Su 33 and never noticed this problem.
rrohde Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 Here's a simple way to recreate - 33 trimmed for straight/level flight, hit the route following AP, fly a while, hit cancel AP, required to having to trim roll axis. Hey rrhode Were you able to fix it? I'm having the same issue. I already checked the deadzone and it looks fine. I don't know if I'm missing something setting up the AP, but I think it's pretty close to de SU-27. Any feedback will be really helpful. Thanks.
Ironhand Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 I've noticed the same issue from time to time not only in the -33 but the -27 as well. This has nothing to do with dead zones. The AP inputs aileron trim and fails to completely remove it once back to straight and level flight. This is in a mission with no wind. Setting the HDD to it's shortest range, usually shows that you are slightly off track, when this is happening but the AP never actually brings you back onto the track. It does not happen consistently in my case, however, and I haven't been able to determine a rhyme or reason.
