vegue Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 The more critical a threat, the closer to the center it is shown on the RWR. This is a simple and useful rule. But when I dogfight with the bandits with my gun, they are displayed too close to the center and actually compromise the situation awareness. It makes the direction hard to identify. I know they are very close to me, but don't know what clock they are.
escaner Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Agree. And also many SAM systems appear as Uk. Unknown, I guess instead of their type, such as SA3, SA6... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
escaner Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 (edited) In this screenshot the problem by the OP can be seen, with a SAM shooting and the warning just in the middle of the RWR. Actually there are 3 SAM systems in the field ahead (SA-3, SA-6 and SA-8 ) yet they all appear as UK. There is also a Snow Drift (SD at 8 o'clock further away which is correct) BTW, the Euromissile Roland is not from the United Kingdom, it is French-German. vegue Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 Aren't "UK" Rolands? Not UnKnown but United Kingdom I thought you were kidding:lol:

Nightwolf Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 IIRC in the manual it says that when targets are very close, the RWR cannot determine exact direction of the contact when it's locking you. Similar to the MiG-21's. "Fighter pilots have ice in their veins. They don't have emotions. They think, anticipate. They know that fear and other concerns cloud your mind from what's going on and what you should be involved in." -Buzz Aldrin

D4n Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I checked manual, couldn't find any phrase like that.
