Morning all.

I am "playing" FC with a Track IR 4 Pro and finding the FOV to be quite limiting with say a comparison to FSX. I know they are different games and FC only offers 3 (is it 3?) DOF but I would like to increase the amount of movement I have if possible. I have found the settings in LoCFG and I think the correseponding settings in the config files. I have also found a website that suggests values to put in (typically I can't find it now!) but it says to enter values into a file I don't have. I am prosuming these settings where for LOMAC and things have changed a bit in FC.

So I was wondering if anyone had any suggested settings for FC and Track IR. If no one has any suggestions or settings I will be putting some time in myself and will post my settings here when I get them.

I have 6DOF in IL-2 with downloading a mod. IL-2 1946 has only 2 axes. So when someone managed to get 6 DOF with IL-2, I just can´t understand why no one has done the same with Lock On? Is it hardcoded? I think IL-2 also is hardcoded but when someone has the knowledge it will always work! Would love to have 6 DOF in Lock On even if it would be with some bugs as the cockpit is not made with 6 DOF in mind.

I don't think the cockpits are true 3D cockpits which is probably the reason. That is to say they aren't 3D modeled, but effectivly flat textures. If we had 6DOF in LOMAC it would break the illusion unless we got new cockpits.

However you can increase the amount you can look around. The site I found suggested settings that you could have for each aircraft without causing clipping.

Ah hello.

Well let me just say you have really helped me get more out of FC. I have been working through the videos over the last few weeks and it's helped really improve my experience and understanding of the sim so thank you very much.

Few Tips from my Side

Cockpit FOV < 60 not good!

Unfortunatly possible to zoom in so much but in also zooms in the outside world in same kind and pretty unreal..isnt it ? :music_whistling:

Cockpit FOV 60-80 good !

A good range to be in ( i use this middle at 70 )

Cockpit FOV > 87 not good!

Causes errors and u might see less then u think.

-wrong early blackout ( above 87FOV G-model impacts incorrect)

-lossing visual sometime caused by "out ot the Box" effect.

-smoketrails dont look puffy anymore, more like toilettepaper-2dmix

here a copy of my FOV min and max Anlges (made in LoCFG).

CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_27] = {53.0, 97.0}

CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_33] = {53.0, 97.0}

CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_25] = {43.0, 87.0}

CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_39] = {63.0, 97.0}

CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iMiG_29] = {53.0, 97.0}

CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iMiG_29K] = {53.0, 97.0}

CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iA_10] = {33.0, 87.0}

CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iF_15] = {53.0, 97.0}

Between this min-max values i operate ZooM with TrackIR

Z-Axis LINEAR at value 12

you know where you can select profiles for each axis ...Z,Yaw and Pitch... ..things like Smooth....Aggressive....or LInear.... Linear means ingame headmovement will repsond 1:1 to your real head ....without deadzones or smoothings......

it requires a bit to get used to it ...but once used to it.....you will see why it is so sweat to have 1:1 response without "interface"

but before (and i know others like it different) any argumentation starts here bout what is best.....it is up to everyones like how he sets that up :smilewink:

I see, I was wondering where that setting was in lomac/locfg. I think I have mine set to linear, I used to have it set with aceleration but it made me feel sick. Cheers.
