Spinning uncontrollably during mission (trk)

During the Para_Bellum training mission:

1: Successfully destroy tanks at WP2

2: Move toward WP3 to take care of infantry

3: After pressing laser designator standby couple of times, chopper starts gyrating out of control.

Will Take Control of your Track later and see if I can help. As I stated in other thread, only Indicative of a Rudder Input/Trim issue - nothing else and easily rectified :)

OK - Had a look at your Track. First-Off, ignore the above erroneous assumption on my part. Thought the Spin was more violent - Not a Rudder issue at all......:music_whistling:

Herewith the Gremlin:

Always ensure the Pitch(PITCH HOLD), Bank(BANK HOLD) and Lateral(HDG HOLD) Dampeners are Lit at all times. In the above Cockpit Pic you can see that they are off, resulting in the behaviour you experienced. With your Track, Engaging the Dampeners immediately rectified the issue.

Handy also to ensure that you toggle the Altitude Hold off once you disengage Auto-Hover. Auto-Hover engages Altitude Hold but does not disengage it.......have to attend to manually.

Now the reason why they disengaged in the first instance are due to you exceeding the limits of the Stability Augmentation System, sort of like a Fuse in a Plug - Too much Juice and it Blows, leaving you in trouble. No doubt a vague explanation, but the more learned can explain exactly why.....I cannot seem to put thoughts into words as far as that goes :D

Thanks 159th Viper, that helps a lot and certainly helps clear it up in my head! Now I know what to look for, and to be more careful when engaging auto hover.
