LawnDart Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Seems the values in the SnapView.lua don't make any difference in FC2? Been trying to change the F-15's default cockpit angles, but the values I enter make no difference. Is there a new place where these are saved in FC2 or am I missing something? I'm trying to change the value in red to a positive number ( = 5), but in game the view still defaults to its old position (= -9.6784505844116). Snap[8][13] = {} Snap[8][13]["y_trans"] = 0 Snap[8][13]["x_trans"] = 0 Snap[8][13]["hAngle"] = 0 Snap[8][13]["viewAngle"] = 88.727844238281 Snap[8][13]["vAngle"] = -9.6784505844116 Snap[8][13]["rollAngle"] = 0 Snap[8][13]["z_trans"] = 0 [sigpic]http://www.virtualthunderbirds.com/Signatures/sig_LD.jpg[/sigpic] Virtual Thunderbirds, LLC | Sponsored by Thrustmaster Corsair 750D Case | Corsair RM850i PSU | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X CODE | 32GB Corsair DDR4 3200 | Intel i7-8086K | Corsair Hydro H100i v2 Cooler | EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW | Oculus Rift | X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty | Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB NVMe | Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB | WD Caviar Black 2 x 1TB | TM HOTAS Warthog | TM Pendular Rudder | TM MFD Cougar Pack | 40" LG 1080p LED | Win10 |
Nate--IRL-- Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 You have to set FC2 to use your snap view over the default views. Open View.lua in Notepad++, edit line 51 to UseDefaultSnapViews = false You can now setup your default view in cockpit and hit RALT - Num 0 to save it. Or edit the snapview lua by hand. theGozr Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I knew it was somewhere, just didn't know where to look for it... Yes, LOL i think we are many in this position.. but everything will become clearer with a bit of time and experience with FC2.0 :) Fly it like you stole it..
LawnDart Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 (edited) I've added a few airplanes as "HumanCockpit" and can't seem to get the snapviews to work for them. Has anyone added tweaked snapviews for aircraft made "flyable" in FC2 (e.g. F-16, F/A-18, Harrier, Tornado etc.)? I have the F-16C-2 added as plane index = 10 in the view.lua and server.lua... but when adding a [10] to the snapview.lua file it doesn't seem to recognize it. The snapview.lua values for plane [8] (which corresponds to the F-15) work fine to change the default angles for the F-15 only, but when the same cockpit is used for another "flyable" (such as the F-16) those values don't seem to apply anymore even if the F-15 cockpit is used. Adding the index number in the snapview.lua for a new plane (e.g. [10] as mentioned above) doesn't seem to work either... What am I missing here...? So, basically: How can you change the view angles in the SnapView.lua for added flyables? LawnDart Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 Bump. Anyone using the efA MoD successfully changed the default view angle of the (F1) cockpits of their aircraft? Snacko Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 What does Save Cockpit Angles (Num0-RAlt) do? I have seen this command since Lockon but could never get it to work. Also, I use Num0 plus the other Num keys in combination to look at panels and the zoom the hud, but do not see it documented in the A10 key commands.... This is a copy and paste from me from a previous post of mine for FC1, I think it still applies for FC2 Snap views can be helpful. I use the Keypad 0 + Keypad 2 combo (mapped to my joystick) to zoom in on the HSI and readout a bulls eye call. You can customize these snap view's zoom levels and exact placements very easily. For example I made the Keypad 0 + Keypad 2 combo zoom in to the maximum amount on the HSI. Here's how... 1) Go to the file ...Lock On/Config/View/View.lua file and open w/ Notepad 2) find the line... DisableSnapViewsSaving = true ...and change the true to... false 3) To customize the snap views, while sitting in the cockpit , press "Keypad 0 + Keypad key" you want (example "Keypad 0 + Keypad 2"). Release the two keys. Pan and zoom the view to your liking then press "ALT and Keypad 0" to save it. Edited May 6, 2010 by Crunch
Nate--IRL-- Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 What does Save Cockpit Angles (Num0-RAlt) do? I have seen this command since Lockon but could never get it to work. That will let you save the default view for the cockpit, for instance, I like the Su-25 cockpit slightly zoomed out and with the HUD slightly above centre so I can see more instruments at a glance. I set up the cockpit how I wanted it, and saved it. Now it always defaults to that view. Note you must edit View.lua as described in the second post in this thread. I have my view.lua settings like this: DisableSnapViewsSaving = true UseDefaultSnapViews = false I press Num0+Num2 together and release them. Then, using TrackIR, I put the view where I want it and press RAlt+Num0. Then, I press Num0+Num2 again to see if it is using my new view and it is still using the old view. It seems strange that I would set DisableSnapViewsSaving to True. Does that actual disable the ability to save Snap Views? That seems backwards. Can I use my TrackIR to set the new view? Or am I supposed to disable TrackIR and use my key commands? Can I do this while in autopilot so I don't crash? (I am just using the quick start mission that is an airstart). Or do I need to be parked on the runway? 104th_Crunch Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 (edited) Sorry, set DisableSnapViewsSaving to False! lol, however, using Gozr's 6DOF mod I can no longer save the snap view even when set to false. Strange You set it with Track ir or any way, where, when you want. Edited May 6, 2010 by Crunch
Boberro Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I have problems too... suddenly my snap views reverted themself to defaults and I can't chagne them back oO Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Snacko Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 (edited) Setting it to false fixed it for me. It is now saving my views. Boberro Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I set: DisableSnapViewsSaving = false UseDefaultSnapViews = false OR DisableSnapViewsSaving = false UseDefaultSnapViews = true ANd still something wrong... Blaze Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 No, keep both set to false. The first line when false means you will be able to save your snapviews. The second line when false means the game will use your saved snapviews in the snapviews.lua instead of the default values in snapviewsdefault.lua. ;) i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. Frig me, the double negative got me there and I was right the first time. Still, for me they are no longer working but I am sure it is mod related.
Snacko Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 @Crunch Hey, you should edit your post above so it is correctly setting it to false instead of true for anyone else who might read it. I did finally get it working by setting them both to false and using my TrackIR; Numpad 2, 4, 6, 8; and RCtrl+RShift+Numpad 2, 4, 6, 8, /, * keys to adjust the view. Then RAlt+Num0 to save it.
