EtherealN Posted July 25, 2012 Share Posted July 25, 2012 I don't know how things work at Paypal, but with regular banks it is a common occurance when a transaction fails at a middleman (like the merchant service etcetera) that funds will appear charged on the bank or credit account, while ED will never have seen it. The funds in this case are under what is called a "reservation" and, since the transaction stalled and thus cannot be completed, will eventually revert automatically to the associated account. Sometimes users have even asked their bank directly through the customer support service of that bank and gotten the response that the funds were in fact charged when they actually were not. I cannot say if this knid of problem would apply to PayPal, but it is possible.
