The freedom fighter will feel right at home over 80s Germany. We should have official liveries for all central European Nations that flew the F-5.

Dear pilots, We are a small group of passionate flight simulation enthusiasts, based in Europe and VFA-282 Centaurs is our F/A-18C Hornet squadron. We fly as realistic as we can while keeping our missions enjoyable and not enforcing procedures. We usually have our scheduled mission on Monday evening 1900-2200 Zulu time (and Wednesdays based on availability) , and our activity is mixed between internal training missions and large scale campaigns missions with our external squadrons friends (joint operations with AMVI, ANZUS etc.) We are looking to increase our roster with like-minded mature pilots that enjoy a relaxed community in which we can virtually fly our favorite fighter in the most realistic environment DCS can offer. What we expect from you: - Know how to operate the Hornet on a basic level (cold and dark start-up, carrier and airfield operations, navigation, weapons systems) - Any combat experience either A/A or A/G will help you get easier through training - Use of Supercarrier module - Syria, Persian Gulf and NTTR are frequently used, while other maps requirement depend on our combined ops campaigns What we can offer: · Friendly and not competitive environment · Support in A2A and A2G tactics and how to best employ F/A-18C in DCS · Server with multiplayer missions · Scenarios to cover all training needs of the Squadron · Engagement with other Squadrons to make the virtual flight more immersive · Debriefing using Tacview · Expertise in using VR in flight Our training goal as a squadron: - Standard ops: o Use of all aircraft systems o Carrier ops (CASE I, CASE II, CASE III, day and night) o Airfield operations ( Ground ops, departure and arrival ops, overhead break pattern landing) o Air to air refueling day and night o Formation flying and tactical turns o Radio communication – ATC, AWACS/GCI – in our large campaign human ATC and GCI are engaged (use of SRS) - Air to Air Combat: o BFM/ACM tactics and engagements – solo and as a pair o BVR tactics and engagements as a flight of 2 or 4 o Roles: CAP, TARCAP, BARCAP and ESCORT o Defensive maneuvers - Air to Ground Combat: o Employment of ordnance using standard attack profiles § Low Angle Strafe, High Angle Strafe, Low Altitutde High Drag, Low Altitude Low Drag, High Altitude Dive Bomb, Loft Profile o Precision bombing– L-GBUs, JDAMs, JSOWs, AGMs o SEAD and DEAD engagements – HARMs, TALDs, JDAMs lofting/sniping o SAMs evasion maneuvers o Using the ground radar for moving target (GMT mode) o CAS mission and syllabus (9-line) o Roles: STRIKE, SEAD/DEAD, OCA, CAS If your timeframe matches ours, you are enthusiastic to master each of our squadron goals with our support and you are eager to join large scale community campaigns, reach us through our discord: https://discord.gg/6dtu3DAnTc A small taste of what we do: https://youtu.be/TUjxWlXV7m4?si=wImJzar32dC7J8GH

I would like to suggest the A-20G for a future module. There are several reasons. Firstly it's a single pilot cockpit plus an AI (or multi-crew human) dorsal turret gunner (2 x 50 caliber), which makes for easy crew requirements. The AI could also assist the pilot by calling out fighter threats. The American style radio system is designed for easy single pilot operation, simplifying DCS integration. The nose armament features 4 x 20 mm cannons and 2 x 50 caliber machine guns in the nose for awesome strafing performance. Additional armament can be 12 ATG rockets or up to 4000 pounds of bombs. The 240 Knot cruise speed and 820 NM range are perfect for many mission types. The systems are relatively simple. The aircraft served for no less than 7 nations in every theater of the world, making it usable in the existing Pacific, European, Middle East, and Asian Maps. The aircraft is ideally suited to anti-shipping, low level strafing/rocket attack, and medium level bombing missions. I believe that this aircraft would be enjoyable for a good variety of ground attack missions and would make maximum use of already existing ED maps and resources. Actual pilot operating handbooks and other manuals are easy to source and simple to read. Finally there is an existing airworthy A-20G flying in the united states that could serve as a subject for the project.
