I have experienced a heavy penalty in performance on carrier decks with static units after March 22nd v2.8.3.38090 patch on Single Threaded executable. I went from cleaning up video card driver with DDU and installing the latest one, reducing graphics besides my GPU or CPU not being maxed out. I'm running DCS with modest settings at 45 fps locked through nVidia control panel. My GPU usually ranges from 40 to 80% during gameplay. With the latest DCS 2.8.3.38090 Open Beta patch my frames dropped from the usual 45fps fps on deck in ST, to around 17-20 fps when looking at the aircraft parked towards the tower. Where there are the most polygons shown and lower than 45fps average. After take off and into the mission, fps stabilized towards the cap of 45 I've set. FIX: I rolled back to March 10th DCS 2.8.3.37556 Open Beta version and the fps are back into normal. I'm running single threaded because of current MT visual glitches in the likes of units specks/dots bleeding through clouds etc...and I'm hosting co-op sessions with a friend teaching and learning air combat and situational awareness kind of deal, so immersion is key. Graphics settings attached as image. GPU: RTX 3060 12gb Vram. CPU: i3 10100 @4.3Ghz. System RAM: 40gb. Windows 11. No change in the settings fixed the issue on the latest v2.8.3.38090, only the roll back to 2.8.3.37556. I searched and have not seen any mention on performance degradation on ST (single threaded).

have downloaded the trial version of Afghanistan and can confirm that I can easily get 75 and more fps after taking off. The fps drops to 27 when parked at Kandahar in F-14 Instant Action Cold and Dark (IMHO there are too many objects in that mission parked at Kandahar). My config is: Ryzen 7 5800X3D, MSI RTX 4090 24gb, 64GB DRAM, 2 x 1TB SSD, 5 Monitors 1920x1080p, Win11-Home The resolution is 7680x1080 to cope with my monitor setup (see image) where: 2 is the monitor dedicated to the left view 4 is for the center view 3 is for the right view 5 is for the view at the sky above the HUD at center view (very useful for dogfighting and for general immersion since I don't want to use VR) and monitor n. 1 is dedicated to Helios. Never got 27 fps in any other map/airport so far. It breaks immersion at all. i also have the 3 mini-monitors from WinWing for the MIP in F18 that would require to increase gloabal resolution but I've not tried them yet. I guess that the 27fps will decrease to a lower value. I'm not sure I'll buy Afghanistan for now. There's plenty to do and to learn elsewhere where things run definetly smooter.

First of all, I want to apologize for the fact that I don't speak English and I can't know if there is already a topic of this kind or not. Everything goes well at the beginning, when performing the startup, taxiing, and taking off and climbing up to 30,000 feet, but when doing missile evasion maneuvers, and I go down to 10,000 feet the FPS is around 50-55 and my normal FPS is 120 FPS. The strangest thing is that when you open the task manager, this is all solved, any solution? This problem has been going on since version 2.8. Most played server: ShadowReapers PvE Caucasus Plane: F-16 Settings: System: Asus tuf z690 plus d4 i5 12600k 32gb ram g.skill tridentz rgb (4x8) asus tuf rtx 3060 ti gddr6x Peripherals: VKB Gladiator NXT EVO Standart Thrustmaster TWCS TrackIR 5 DCS-BIOS (arduino nano, 3 buttons, 4 switch, 6 LEDs)

DCS 2.8.0.32235.1 Open Beta on Persian Gulf map. When you change the navigation display, you have a big loss of FPS and screen stutter. Please verify. Thanks!

Do we really need those detailed "bikes" and building fences, cargo palletes and road cones? why not replace them with a texture or some else come on ED we dont need a unplayable Monalisa See this screen shot, RTX 3070 i7-10700 32Gb RAM down to 15 vase flower pots and "mini fence" great 11 fps

Hello fellows, As it was the case with previous verisons this bug still persists in 2.8 for me. I can't get DCS to use my GPU at its maximum potential. GPU usage is all over the place bouncing up to 70-80% with low FPS around 60-70 varying up to 80-90 at higher altitudes. I have attached various photos with my settings and with the actual performance taken both in multiplayer and is singleplayer. Here are my specs: Processor AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor 3.80 GHz Installed RAM 32.0 GB System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Edition Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 Installed on 29/10/2022 OS build 22621.819 GPU Nvidia 3080Ti Nvidia Driver 526.86 Release Date 11/10/2022 OS and DCS storage Samsung SSD 980 Pro 1TB I don't see any bottlenecks nor limits in my system and I have already tried multiple settings and solutions found on other threads (vsync on-off/fast in game settings and Nvidia Control Pannel, setting fps limits to 144 etc.) but nothing worked. Do you get the same issues or have other solutions that I should try? Thanks. (GPU usage in multiplayer) (GPU usage in singleplayer) (DCS Settings and Nvidia Control Panel)

Noticed this on 2D mode while messing around in the mission editor. Normally I fly VR. My specs: AMD 5800X 32 Gb Ram SSD Drives AMD RX6900XT For some reason when moving the camera around, the FPS behaves crazy. I can have 170-200 FPS looking down at an area, turn the camera slightly, and the frames drops to 50-60 FPS. At the same time the GPU utilisation drops from 80-100% and down 16-20%. Turn camera again, and the frames and GPU usage comes back up again. I have attached 2 screenshots, almost the same. The one with blue skies in the horizon has 75 FPS. The one with a slightly more angled down view, has 179 FPS. Now, you could say it's due to more "horizon" in the view of the first one. But here's the kicker. If I zoom in on the radar of the patriot site in the background. I get..... 50 FPS. Looking straight down on nothing but the radar. I would expect HIGHER FPS. As it should be easier to draw a single patriot radar, then the entire scene. I can have the same issue inside cockpit vs external view. Inside Apache cockpit, 150-180 FPS. Move to F2 view, 60-70 FPS. Back into the cockpit again, 170 FPS. This is the "top down" view on the patriot radar, gives me 50-60 FPS. I have noticed this on different maps, Nevada, Caucasus, Gulf and Syria. Scenes where you would expect lower frames are pushing out 140-190 FPS easily. Change to a single UH-60 external view in Nevada. Tanks down to 60 FPS. Goes back to internal view in the Apace, shoots right back into 140-170... I use Skatezillas tool to do the patching and cleaning of the DCS install everytime.

When connecting to a MP server my GPU behaves as idle, any idea how to solve it, and what information could be relevant? More Description: After connecting to an MP server, my FPS is in the range of 2-7 (depending on the server) FPS and my GPU consumes under 30W of electric power. When I start a mission in SP my FPS is 100+- FPS, GPU consumes +-300W, and when I start my MP server (not dedicated) my FPS is 100-120FPS. More information: I play the MT version of the game CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X GPU: RX 6900 XT (drivers 24.6.1) RAM: 32 GB HDD: Samsung EVO 980 PRO (NVMe PCi 4.0) Page File: 42-46 GB (main disk) + 12-36 GB (secondary ssd) My attempt to solve it: -I have tried lovered graphical settings, view distance, object details, etc... -I have tried multiple servers to connect: multiple servers of Through the Inferno, some random server with a low headcount, etc. -I have tried to empty the Track folder. -I have tried activating/deactivating vSynch, and changing the FPS max limiter (even commenting on it in the config.lua). -I have tried deleting FXO and MEtashader2 folders (and spent the next 60 minutes fixing it, because DCS was not able to create a new one unless I started it as administrator). -I have tried to delete mods and check the game folder integrity via Steam. Thanks for nay advice or hint of information that could help. dcs.log options.lua

Looks like starting F-4 is a huge CPU performance impact. With Ka-50, F-14 etc. on the ramp in Caucasus map I got 80-90 FPS But in F-4 (same scenario) I got 20-30 FPS and FPS pop-up says CPU bound I try follow tip from user “Mederlock”: in dcs.log I see, so in my case it really does not matter (however I try anyway): 2024-05-24 10:37:21.038 INFO EDCORE (Main): system affinity mask: 11111111 2024-05-24 10:37:21.038 INFO EDCORE (Main): process affinity mask: 11111111 2024-05-24 10:37:21.042 INFO EDCORE (Main): CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz [1x L3 caches] 2024-05-24 10:37:21.042 INFO EDCORE (Main): CPU has uniform cache size 8 MB (per cache) 2024-05-24 10:37:21.042 INFO EDCORE (Main): all CPU cores have the same efficiency class 0 2024-05-24 10:37:21.042 INFO EDCORE (Main): all CPU cores have the same performance class 0 2024-05-24 10:37:21.042 INFO EDCORE (Main): common cores: {4, 5, 6, 7} 2024-05-24 10:37:21.042 INFO EDCORE (Main): render cores: {0, 1, 2, 3} 2024-05-24 10:37:21.042 INFO EDCORE (Main): IO cores: {} 2024-05-24 10:37:23.113 INFO EDCORE (Main): pause10: 0.037503 us (std dev: 0.058880) 2024-05-24 10:37:23.113 INFO EDCORE (Main): pause10: 1311 cycles (std dev: 1858.1) 2024-05-24 10:37:23.114 INFO EDCORE (Main): Created boot pool: n:8 I do not have high end PC i7 7700 with 1080 8 GB and 32 GB RAM but go form 80 to 30 FPS is really low (during flight and maneuvers I got ~10 FPS) But here a kicker I set all setting to lowest possible values and no change at all still 20-30 FPS See normal and low settings in screen shot. If this a problem with F-4 itself (not my system or some my specific problem) I'm willing to help and debug and troubleshooting. It easy reproduceable in my system I would like to pin point root cause, I can collect any logs run any diagnostic or even some additional tools to solve issue out. Thx! PS. I noticed during starting/loading F-4 mission I hit 32 Gb RAM usage.... just before window with Fly button, and then it drops....
