Hi all, I noticed while trying to create a FOB in a inexplicably populated area in Afghanistan that (as the title says) any unit places on top of a removed scenery object spawns floating in the air. See attached pictures for reference. Am I doing something wrong or it's this a bug? I tried this in other maps as well so it's not an isolated issue.

Be able to add static objects in a group, it will provide the ability to move all the groups within the map

First off, a big thanks to the developers of the Sinai map. I posted nothing for a long long time.. but I'm kinda back i guess. Thanks to the Sinai map, and thanks to the incredible mission editor, the realistic sounds that we have now (love the distance sounds so damn much), and all those nice camera settings. The feeling is just "there". Honestly, this seems to be the first map that i'll keep. I've erased all other maps since I got the Sinai map. I bought all the other maps excluding the WW2 map (always hated WW2 stuff) so i skipped it. The Problem with almost every DCS map is that the Ground looks too simple, mostly no good Satelitte images, missing acsess ways to the building, missing or wrong buildings on every Airfield. A lot of "copy/pasted Buildings and many missing Parking lots for Vehicles, no main Gates, missing roads and so on. I've created tons of building after gathering hours and hours of informations from Nellis AFB, Falklands, and so on you name it, but i never finished one Model because the lack of ground detail in DCS was always frustrating. I started to use the scenery removal tool but this is also extremely limited and too much time consuming, more about this later. Looking on Bing maps/google, then back in DCS.. and the frustration was there and it was overhelming. I always wish that DCS will oneday use real Satelitte images to "create" buildings kinda like MSFS2020, but i don't wanne go into this topic right now. Another wish is that we (the community) will oneday be given the option to edit Airfields, add Landmarks etc much easier (MS2020 is a prime example here). Now we got DCS 2.8xx, and the Graphics have improved. Let me say that i can only play games or any Simulation in VR, looking on a screen no matter how big it is is too boring for me. There's still my room, and nothing is life size, the depth is missing etc. But in VR..one word, thrilling, insanely amazing. I've not yet made it to fly in DCS because i just "sit" outside the base with my VR Headset and big headphones on watchig everything like a spotter in real life.. simply astonished. Now... Tel Nof Airbase... again, a lot is missing, and i hope the Developers will hear me cause i really wanne push this Base to get more and more realistic. There's some stuff that could be erased from the map, and some simple stuff that the Developers could add. I would try to get as many buildings and stuff done as possible. Sure i need time, and time is rare cause i'm a full time artist and maybe i would need some support in the long run. Lets start with the Main Gate where i found a pretty good image on google, then i checked the spot in DCS... and sadly there's almost nothing at this place. Just the parking lot..and one lamp Pole...i was like.. anyway lets try it. I started with the Base guard "F-15", which is placed on some stands.. i played around with the Collision Shell and i was suprised to see that it finally worked out.. after that i was thrilled to create the 2 Spotlights on the ground which should illuminate part of the Bottom of the Eagle... and that also worked out pretty well..Call me nuts but to be honest, checking this location in VR is so damn nice, i played some chill out music and i was sitting for an hour on the fence watching the F-15 in VR from every angle.. incredible. Thanks to ED again, you bring a feeling back that i had the last time a very very long time ago. Next step would be to create the Main Gate buildings in the background As some of you may has noticed, the fence was from @Massun92, the palm tree and additional trees was done by myself, also the Light Poles on the Parking spot, you'll see much more later. The F-15 is the original Static Model from ED. Sorry for making this post so long but there's so much on my mind right now... Next post in a minute...

We have 45 naval assets in the game as of September 25, 2024. Most of the newer ones look very good (i.e. Chinese and South Atlantic assets, all carriers). Unfortunately, most of the civilian and Russian models look extremely outdated. Any chance of a model/texture update for the following ships? Battlecruiser 1144.2 Boat Zvedny Bulker Yakushev Cargo Ivanov Corvette 1124.4 Corvette 1241.1 Cruiser 1164 Frigate 1135M Frigate 11540 They do not have to be 8k and every bolt is modeled, just bring them into this decade. Also, is it possible to remove the old Kuznetsov? Finally, I would like to plead for a few more ships. For naval warfare, this area is extremely lacking. There have been some great additions in recent years, and I look forward to more. Maybe some more American ships from the Cold War era (battleships anyone???)?

The western part of Kandahar Heliport has several objects sitting on the taxiway, see attached picture:

Hi, I would absolutely love to see some official SAR objects like for an example life floats, pilot with life vest and colored fluid around him. This would ad to some fun and interesting mission opportunities. If also these units could pop flares and stuff like that would be absolutely amazing! And yes I am aware that some mods have done this but as I said I would love to see this be an official addition! //Lars from Sweden

So I was surprised to find some wooden fences that are not removable at all and stop all manner of munitions and cannot be destroyed, mostly surprised since the trees on the map allow munitions to pass through etc, see image for the offending fences (and other scenery objects) This particular fence is at X-36471, Y-39746 Trying to build some CA content and its a bit jarring when these things are indestructible. Unlike trees I would argue it is likely appropriate to make smaller/flimsier scenery objects like this simply not collide with munitions or vehicles, or simply delete them if a vehicle runs into them. At a minimum I would hope to be able to clear them with scenery remove objects in zone triggers.

Hi everyone, Would it be possible to have NAVAIDS be unit that can be placed directly into the mission editor? Focusing on NAVAIDs that are portable IRL, but I'd extend it to NDBs, VORs, ILS', marker beacons, airfield beacons (if we get them) etc. This would make sense as some of the NAVAIDS that we have at present actually have mobile forms. It would also simplify the creation of RSBN/ARK locations for the MiG-21bis and TILS locations for the AJS 37 Viggen. Once the unit/object is placed in the mission editor, the user should have the ability to define a frequency/channel and power (though if we're going on a certain system, the power should default to the real system's value) etc, in the same fashion as select frequency that we have currently. For ILS/PRMG/TILS it might also be useful to specify a glideslope angle within a certain range. It would probably be good to have a checking system to ensure that a selected frequency/channel etc isn't already taken by something else. This could even extend to radio communications checking system. The checker shouldn't prevent you from having duplicate frequencies/channels, but should warn you. Examples of what I'm talking about: TACAN (unsure exactly what this one is): (EDIT: the 2nd system has been implemented in DCS (TTS 3030)). RSBN-4N (this exact thing is already present in DCS, but is a static object in predefined locations, and only corresponds to the L-39's RSBN system): PRMG-5 Glideslope Antenna (GRM-5): PGRM-5 Localiser Antenna (KRM-5): As for TILS according to at least the Viggen manual (pg. 139) the TILS system it uses "can be mounted on a mobile chassis enabling it to be placed on satellite airstrips". This system shouldn't necessarily replace the current, permanent, predefined navigational aids - if they are in their correct permanent real-world positions, which should already be the case (but they should be able to be turned off/removed). I just think it would be a good idea for quickly defining new locations for them, which might be useful for making improvised airbases, and especially for NAVAIDS that are transportable IRL (such as RSBN + PRMG). For the MiG-21bis, you can adjust the channels in a .lua; it isn't the most user-friendly process in the world, but it would be better to have this done via the mission editor and to unify the MiG-21bis' system with the L-39s. Preferably, it should be possible for these to be able to be transported (which might be useful in a dynamic, persistent campaign), probably via an advanced waypoint action. Obviously it should only be available as a NAVAID if it's stationary and deployed. Also and credit to MikeMikeJuliet for the suggestion to have NAVAIDs destructible (if they aren't already). What do you think?
