I have read through various forums trying to fix my problem but nothing has worked. I have TacView 1.2.4 as well as DCS World 1.2.7 in Steam installed and after clicking the “Record [DCS World] Flights”, I am asked to point to the DCS World install, which I do and the program seems happy. But, there is no recording icon in the lower right and the “Record [DCS World] Flights” is not checked. Every time I select it, nothing happens. It doesn’t ask for the DCS World folder again, just doesn’t check. I have verified that the export.lua and TacviewExportDCS.lua are in the D:\users\<my name>\saved games\DCS\Scripts folder and look correct (that is, the export.lua has the appropriate line in it). The network.cfg also shows the correct line (allow_object_export=true).

I have uninstalled TacView several times, including deleting all references to it in the registry and deleting all appdata or other folders and scripts. After a clean install, it again asks me for the location of the DCS World folder the first time I try to record but then doesn't check itself and doesn't show the icon. I have run both the 64 and 32 bit versions and both as Administrator as well. No difference.

Here are my relevant folders (none should have rights issues, I verified access):

DCS World: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld

Script Folders: D:\Users\<my name>\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts

TacView: D:\Games\Tacview

ACMI Save Folder: D:\Games\Tacview\Flights

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

System Drive: C:\

User Drive: D:\

There is nothing in the Windows event log.

I'm in the same boat as you. Installed it and made sure the scripts were correct after pointing it to the right folder and it still won't work. I also have the steam version of the game and have to wonder if thats the problem.

Well, I just wiped my system and re-installed Windows 7 64 (not because of this), so we'll see what a clean install does for me. I did have DCS World installed outside of Steam (the old way) prior to downloading and installing the Steam version a few months ago. Perhaps all the various user folders and program folders got mixed somehow.

In most cases it does still record, for example, if you host the mission it'll record fine. However, most servers now are preventing such programs from being able to record their sessions so players don't cheat by using it at the same time they're flying to find out where others are flyig...

I'm not sure if you are commenting on my case, but it definitely does not record (no files generated anywhere [did a search for acmi as well as looked in the proper folders]). Also I'm doing this offline, not in multiplayer. The author of the software replied to my support email saying he would check it out and let me know when he has a fix if there is a problem so I'll wait and see.

@hydrocyfolumpus Thanks! After re-installing Windows, I no longer had the icon not showing that it was recording problem, but I still didn't get any ACMI files after flying, despite setting the target folder. However, once I added that Temp folder I now have ACMI files there (annoying that it doesn't care where I tell it to put them, but I can live with that). Thanks again!

I have the same problem on my DCS.

My ACMI folder has no files even my Tacview check on.

I have tried all three step of Export Script Manual Installation for DCS World 1.2.3(in Vyrtuoz's lair).

My installation data follows

DCS World: C\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World

Script Folders: D\User\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts

Tacview: C\Program Files\Stra Software\Tacview 1.2.4

TacviewACMI: D\User\Documents\Tacview

OS Win Ultimate 64bit

System C drive

Data D drive

If you mentioned D\Users\Saved game\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua ,

that has been enabled already.

local Tacviewlfs=require('lfs');dofile(Tacviewlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/TacviewExportDCS.lua')

Any way, thank you for your reply:)
