AegisFX Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I'm looking at the x-55, but I'm extremely skeptical. I definitely do not want the Warthog. Not that it's bad, but way over budget..at the moment. I could go on with Logitech, Saitek, etc. Long story short, here's what I'm looking for, and where I think it puts me: I need: precision Enough buttons on the stick to decently mimic/simulate the f-15/16/18 sticks without much need for programming dual throttle (I may not need it, as I've done the A-10C and FC3 planes fine with one large throttle, but would prefer more precise throttle management in terms of separate axes.) Where I think this sets me: Right now, I'm considering the CH Fighterstick. I know it isn't new or flashy, but it seems like the few modern reviews on Amazon speak praise. Other than the lack* of a 2-stage trigger, it appears to have the buttons, and even the layout, I desire. This of course leaves me wondering and researching an option for a dual throttle unit! The hold up is in finding one that's a stand alone unit, CH Pro Throttle not included, since it is single axis. *my 52 pro actually got stuck a LOT in Arma and DCS A-10C, but hasn't gotten stuck in 2nd stage in a while. It was easy to undo by clicking it again to stage 1, but annoying and costly in terms of ammo/time* Do any of you have any experience here? I'm especially interested in hearing your solutions if you ended up buying separate throttle and sticks. My budget is around 300 USD, with intent to replace stick before I replace the 52pro throttle Owned: Ryzen 3900x, MSI AMD 470x mobo, 32gb 3200MHz ram, Gtx 1660 Ti, 970 Evo Plus 500GB, MsFFB2, TIR5, TMWH+18c Stick, MFG Crosswinds, Buttkicker/SSA, WinWing F-18C . remon Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 The only dual throttle sticks, other than X-55 and the Warthog, are the the X-65f and the G940. They are both expensive, have been discontinued, and weird setups. The X-65f is force sensing with no moving parts and the G940 is a force feedback stick, with its own problems. The only other thing you could do is buy a Warthog stick, they sell them solo now, and a Saitek or CH quadrant maybe?
AegisFX Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 Yup.. looks like i jeed to simply hold off, and get the warthog later on.. Ryback Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I'm looking to retire my X-52 Pro for a decent stick and dual throttle. Ideas? Get the x-65f..It has everything you need for fc3 and a-10c..I have it and very happy except now i play huey often and applying constant pressure (hovering, landing)to the stick is hard work..x-55 is looking cheap and plastic(and it is actually).Very well built with metal base X-65 must be your choice.
jj_pt Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I see the X-55 will cost 200 USD / Euro. I can get a Warthog for 260 Euro, so there isn't' much of a price difference here. How much would it cost to get a Warthog where you live? [sIGPIC]http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/images/userbars/A-10C_UserBar_01.gif[/sIGPIC]
