delcamp36
I am planning to fit an SSD Drive to my computer alongside the original HDD, but will be deleting everything from the HDD and installing OS and DCS on the SSD using the HDD as a data drive. Will I have to deactivate my DCS modules from the HDD before I can install them into DCS on the SSD.
sobek
If you reinstall your OS then yes, you will need to deactivate, else you will lose an activation in the process. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

splash
And, what is better? Losing an activation or a deactivation? Thanks.
sobek
Deactivating is preferrable as it will conserve your activation. If you don't deactivate, your activation will be lost. Good, fast, cheap. cichlidfan
And, what is better? Losing an activation or a deactivation? Thanks. It works out the same in the long run. Although, it could be argued that saving the deactivations until you are down to one activation may have advantages. WildBillKelsoe
but 30 days later the activation system should replenish the 'lost' activation, if the system still works that way I remember. Yes, but if you are at that point then those de-activations would be quite useful.
