Hard to reach parts of the cockpit / Is it possible to lean back?

The mouse freelook in cockpit feels awfully restricted in the A10c. I own the huey and ka50 and in there you can easily rotate the view to see each button from an angle that allows to read the labels. However in the A10c, it is not possible to lean back in the chair to read the switch labels. Is there special command to lean back and lean to the side?

There is a switch to raise and lower the seat which is on the front of the left console. Hold the mouse wheel down and moving it side to side will move the centre of view left or right. or forward and back will achieve the same result as the raise\lower seat button.

As for tilting seat, I don't think that view is possible. I know there is a mod somewhere on here that does allow the view angle which you request but I am not able to find it. Someone else may be able to point you to the mod link. It does exist as I have seen it several times, I just can't physically find it :(

Press the scroll wheel down (ie, clicking the middle mouse button), then use the scroll wheel. It will move you forward a back.

If you don't have it pressed down, you zoom. When pressed, you move.

It's not very well documented.

Use this mod. With or without Trackir it allows you to see switches correctly. I consider it one of my must have mods.

I am at a loss as to why this mod isn't included in DCS and if there is a reason then the Devs should fix it and include this. You actually feel like you are strapped in flying an aircraft with this mod instead of feeling like your half hanging out of your seat. I just hope PeterP continues to update this mod after each patch because I cannot go back to half hanging out of my seat.

Here are the default keybinds to move the camera around inside the cockpit. I don't know why somebody didn't post them earlier:

R-SHIFT + R-CTRL + Numpad2 — Move camera down

R-SHIFT + R-CTRL + Numpad4 — Move camera left

R-SHIFT + R-CTRL + Numpad5 — Center camera position-wise

R-SHIFT + R-CTRL + Numpad6 — Move camera right

R-SHIFT + R-CTRL + Numpad8 — Move camera up

R-SHIFT + R-CTRL + Numpad* — Move camera forward

R-SHIFT + R-CTRL + Numpad/ — Move camera back

To move the camera (i.e., your POV) forward and back you'll want the last two, obviously. Together with the regular numpad keys that'll rotate and zoom the camera, you should be able to get at pretty much everything.
