How can i ad a country to a Coalition in an existing mission?

Most of the question Is in the title...

I would like to ad Usa in a Blue coalition , in an existing mission.

It seems that the menu that set the different coalitions apears only in the menu "new mission"...

I even tried to ad it in the lua file "mission" but i couldń t find the line.

Can only be done when creating a new mission.

What you had to do in the file was add it to the country list and/or add it to blue coalition. Not having a mission file in front of me (but this topic has been discussed before on the forum) you should see a list of country numbers (I think US is number 1) and then somewhere below that lists for Blue and Red. Copy one of the Blue coalitions, put it in numerical order, edit it to be the US, and then edit the remaining Blue nations to be numerically correct.

back in the day before dcs world and in BS1 it could be done with BLINDSPOTS mod. Then after the A-10C release it became tecnical, you had to delete every unit for that coalition and then you could change it with notepad++ like Exorcet has said above. After the release of DCS world, none of the previous ways are possible and now I doubt it can be done.

It's strange that ED don't add tools for this to the editor but then again you should have a clear plan for what your mission should include when starting out.

Would be a nice feature, still. Consider the following scenario:

 

You create a dynamic campaign, and create each successive mission using the last one as a Template (pretty handy). Then, for some reason, you need some new country to join the fight (maybe what you did in the last mission made them choose a side - that may depend on your actions).

 

I remember the mod that allowed it in FC2/BS1. I wish it was a default feature.

 

Can someone confirm if it is possible now or not anymore?

I tried to duplicate Blindspot's ME mod for DCSW. I was mostly successful, but could not get the 'change coalitions' part to work -- I could never get the dialog screen for selecting coalitions to appear.
